Chapter 143 Jinsha (1/2)

Shang Yechu spent her entire five-day holiday on these two matters. After lengthy bargaining, heated arguments, and friendly exchanges... Ji Juntao finally compromised.

The final agreed-upon share transfer to Shang Yechu was 2.6%, which was the limit Ji Juntao could accept. She would have panicked at any more. As for the other clauses Shang Yechu added to the contract, Ji Juntao basically accepted them all, making only minor adjustments to the details and significantly increasing the penalty for breach of contract.

From then on, Qingping Entertainment truly gained another ancestor.

Although Ji Juntao was devastated when he signed the equity transfer agreement, he quickly regained his fighting spirit and began to get involved in Shang Yechu's affairs.

Ji Juntao is decisive and efficient. On the very first day of filming for the third installment of "Xiao Feng Que," he had already assembled a complete team for Shang Ye Chu, including a nanny van, assistant, and driver. Only an agent is still unavailable, as it's impossible to find one so quickly.

The van was an ugly, secondhand car. Ji Juntao was struggling to make ends meet, having to be extremely careful with every penny. His assistant was a greenhorn who could only handle simple tasks at the moment.

Shang Yechu was most satisfied with her driver. The driver Ji Juntao hired for her was a robust and strong woman with over ten years of driving experience; her arms could easily whip four Shang Yechus around like tops. She drove steadily and comfortably, never exhibiting bad habits like speeding, running red lights, or road rage. With an A-class driver's license, she was always safe and reliable.

In her previous life, Shang Yechu died in a car accident. Although theoretically, even if she were hit by a car and sent flying into the sky in this life, as long as she had a breath left, 103 could urgently exchange health points to revive her, the shadow in her heart was not so easy to dispel. This god-like driver made Shang Yechu barely forgive Ji Juntao for the verbal arguments they had had these past few days.

The only downside to hiring such a driver is the price. But that's a drawback for Shang Yechu and Ji Juntao, not for the driver.

The driver's surname was Cai, and Shang Yechu called her Aunt Cai. The assistant's surname was Wang, and Shang Yechu called her Little Wang.

Aunt Cai drove Shang Yechu all the way to the film set, then dozed off in the car. In her words, this was to conserve her energy and be ready to be called upon at any time.

When Shang Ye arrived at the film set, she found that the crew didn't seem ready to start filming. This was rather strange. Yi Tianzhao wasn't the type to slack off.

Just as she was wondering, Yi Tianzhao arrived, covered in sweat: "Ye Chu, you're here so early? I was just about to call you."

"What's wrong, Director Yi?" Shang Yechu glanced around. "The shooting schedule has been changed?"

Yi Tianzhao nodded: "I guess so. The higher-ups have increased the budget for this project. This one will be filmed on location."

Shang Yechu was taken aback: "The scenery in the third part is in the desert—are we going to the desert?"

"How could that be!" Yi Tianzhao wiped his sweat. "The cost would be too high. Let's go to Jinsha City."

Jinsha City has a dry climate and a high latitude, so there is little greenery in early spring, and some places look a bit like a desert.

"Go back first and pack your things. The departure time is set for tomorrow." Yi Tianzhao hurriedly finished speaking, then added, "It wasn't on purpose that I didn't tell you; I only found out this morning."

After finishing his business, Yi Tianzhao noticed that there was another person next to Shang Yechu: "Is this your assistant?"

"Yes." Shang Yechu introduced with a smile, "Xiao Wang. This is Director Yi."

Xiao Wang greeted Yi Tianzhao shyly. Yi Tianzhao nodded but didn't pay any more attention.

"Bring plenty of sunscreen and face masks, Jinsha City is dry," Yi Tianzhao advised. "Bring plenty of clothes too, the temperature difference between day and night is large there."

"I understand, thank you, Director Yi."

“We’ll come back after we finish filming the desert scenes,” Yi Tianzhao said. “I’ve calculated the dates, and it’ll be just in time for the second season of ‘Xiao Feng Que’ to air, which will give you time to participate in ‘Twenty-Four Grids Guest’.”

The schedule was being followed more closely than a dog's, and Shang Yechu couldn't help but chuckle.

After exchanging pleasantries with Yi Tianzhao, Shang Yechu walked to the side and reported the news to Ji Juntao.

I just signed the contract and haven't even gotten to know the boss properly before I have to go on a business trip. I should at least let him know.

Unexpectedly, not long after the message was sent, Ji Juntao called.

When Shang Yechu answered the video call, she saw Ji Juntao with dark circles under his eyes, disheveled hair, and a pen tucked behind his ear.

Shang Yechu felt a pang of annoyance and frowned slightly, asking, "You went for a night run last night?"

"Stop with the nonsense," Ji Juntao said. "Make it quick—you're going to Jinsha City?"

"Yes." Shang Yechu had a gut feeling something was wrong. "What happened in Jinsha City? Do you need me to help you visit your relatives?"

Ji Juntao slammed his fist down, nearly knocking his phone off its stand: "That's perfect! You might have a chance with this notebook!"

Shang Yechu was taken aback: "What script? I'm filming 'Xiao Fengque,' don't cause me any trouble."

Ji Juntao tapped his phone a few times: "I've sent you the script. Take a look at it yourself. Okay, I'll talk to you later, I'm going to take a ten-minute nap. Get back to me in ten minutes."

Ji Juntao hung up after saying that, leaving Shang Yechu staring blankly at the screen.

I swiped through the WeChat interface and Ji Juntao's script was sent to me.

The script has a very short title, only two characters: "The Mute Woman".

The name, so full of rustic charm and bitterness, made Shang Yechu's brow twitch.
