Shang Yechu was fortunate enough not to be among the sick. Of course, this was also partly due to her frantically exchanging health points. In any case, Shang Yechu was still staying at the desert guesthouse.
Such an unexpected situation naturally needed to be reported to Ji Juntao. Shang Yechu drank some water while briefly explaining the situation to Ji Juntao.
Ji Juntao was very busy, so after Shang Ye finished sending the message, he started reading.
E-book reading platforms are a boon for readers, eliminating the hassle of carrying physical books. However, they can strain the eyes after prolonged use. Shang Yechu had been reading for an hour and was just about to rest her eyes when Ji Juntao's video calls started coming in one after another.
As soon as Shang Yechu answered the video call, Ji Juntao immediately asked, "Where are you right now?"
"I'm still at the guesthouse." Shang Yechu got up and closed the door.
"Is anyone else around?" Ji Juntao asked in a low voice.
Shang Yechu shook his head.
How's the soundproofing?
Shang Yechu frowned, knowing that Ji Juntao had something to say. "I'll go outside to talk."
Shang Yechu put on her coat, hat, and mask, and stepped out of the room. It wasn't so much to conceal her identity, but rather because the sandstorm outside was too intense.
When they reached a wide-open, sandy area where any living creature could be seen immediately, Shang Yechu finally spoke, "What is it?"
Ji Juntao's opening line was scathing: "Take advantage of these next few days and film 'The Mute Woman'."
Shang Yechu: "..."
Shang Yechu stared at Ji Juntao: "How many times do I have to tell you? Don't you know how Yang Huanyi got into trouble?"
"Yi Tianzhao is sick! Are you just going to waste your time there?" Ji Juntao wrote rapidly, his pen flying across the paper, while speaking quickly. "Since we're all just eating sand anyway, wouldn't it be better to eat something more meaningful?"
“This is meaningless.” Shang Yechu shook her head firmly. “With the internet so developed now, and so many people on set, it’s impossible to keep it a secret.”
“Who said we were going to keep it a secret?” Ji Juntao put down his pen. “Not only can we not keep it a secret, we have to make a big fuss about it!”
"Are you crazy?" Shang Yechu pulled down her mask, allowing Ji Juntao to clearly see the shape of her mouth as she cursed. "If you're not crazy, tell me your plan."
Ji Juntao gave a knowing smile: "I knew you wanted to take pictures too. Don't pretend you don't know what's going on."
Shang Yechu snorted, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.
Ji Juntao drew a line in the air with his pen: "Taking on two projects at the same time isn't really a big deal. As long as you can maintain an excellent level in both projects, it won't cause too much criticism."
"Stop talking nonsense." Shang Yechu coughed. "Do you know how big the sand here is?"
"Just bear with it," Ji Juntao said bluntly. "The problem with 'Xiao Feng Que' is that the previous lead actor left because he was juggling multiple projects at the same time. So it's a sensitive issue. It can't withstand being dug up by those with ulterior motives."
"Cough cough cough!" A gust of wind blew by, and yellow sand and dust hit Shang Yechu's face, causing him to cough.
Ji Juntao asked with concern, "Are you alright? Don't get sick, or all our plans will fall through."
"It's nothing. I just choked." Shang Yechu took out a tissue and wiped her face.
