This is where the advantage of having a new director comes in. Gu Wenhua listened to advice, or rather, almost ecstatically accepted Sheng Wenzhi's adaptation.
Filming could not be delayed. The crew immediately started work and filmed Yongjuan's death again according to Sheng Wenzhi's script.
This viewing experience was significantly better. Qi Ming got into character very quickly, even moving the two seasoned actors playing Yongfu and Yongjuan to tears.
The entire scene was enveloped in a faint atmosphere of sadness, and it was filmed in one take.
Gu Wenhua was already quite satisfied with the result and even went to flatter Sheng Wenzhi. Only Shang Yechu, standing on the sidelines, felt that something was still missing.
What's missing?
It's hard to say. It seems to be some kind of power, or flavor or something. Although the adapted plot isn't as flat as the original, it still lacks that "flavor."
Shang Yechu thought and thought, until her head ached. The noise 103 was playing on a loop in her mind, making her head buzz even more.
Suddenly, Shang Yechu remembered her previous life.
Shang Yechu had always tried to avoid recalling her past life as an actress, partly because she didn't want to, and partly because it was pointless. But in this chaotic film set, amidst the noise of 103 faithfully performing their duties, Shang Yechu suddenly found herself remembering her past.
People have depth. Part of Shang Yechu's depth comes from her past. It cannot be discarded, it cannot be stripped away.
if……
Shang Yechu was startled by her own thoughts.
Is this idea really correct? If the effect is not as good as the previous two versions, won't we be ridiculed?
The thought flashed through his mind, and Shang Yechu laughed at himself.
What's there to be afraid of? I've been acting in comedies for over a decade, haven't I been laughed at enough already?
Shang Yechu strode over to the director who was flattering Sheng Wenzhi and rudely interrupted his commercial praise: "Director, I have some new ideas about the scene we just filmed."
Gu Wenhua was stammering as he praised Sheng Wenzhi to the skies, a gesture that, for someone not naturally outgoing or lively, was an expression of utmost admiration and a desire to befriend her. Being abruptly interrupted by Shang Yechu, he couldn't help but feel somewhat displeased.
Since the person was sent in by the sugar daddy, Gu Wenhua couldn't show his displeasure, so he could only ask, "Is there a problem with that scene? Where does it need to be reshot?"
"It's not a reshoot, it's a complete reshoot." Shang Yechu gestured. "I have another one—"
Shang Yechu wanted to say, "I have another idea I'd like to try," but when she met Sheng Wenzhi's surprised gaze and Gu Wenhua's displeased look, she suddenly sneered inwardly and felt a surge of competitive spirit.
“I have a better version.” Shang Yechu repeated herself, afraid that the two people in front of her might not have heard her clearly, “My version is better. I hope you can reshoot it.”
"A better version?" Sheng Wenzhi stood up abruptly, her face filled with undisguised astonishment. "You?"
Just as Shang Yechu was arrogant about her acting skills, Sheng Wenzhi was equally arrogant about her literary talent. If it were some master who said these words, it wouldn't be so bad, but it just so happened to be Shang Yechu.
That Shang Yechu who can't even understand human speech, and whom Sheng Wenzhi always has to translate into plain language before they talk!
In that instant, surprise even overwhelmed anger; Sheng Wenzhi almost thought Shang Yechu was joking.
“Ye Zi,” Sheng Wenzhi said decisively, “I told you, this script is a gift from me. It’s yours—you don’t need to change anything…”
"It's not about changing it." Shang Yechu interrupted her rudely. "Didn't you hear me? It's my own idea, not yours, and it has absolutely nothing to do with you. Completely, entirely, and unrelated to you—didn't you hear any of those four words?"
Sheng Wenzhi suddenly stopped, a mixture of humiliation and surprise appearing on her beautiful face. It was clear that if Shang Yechu hadn't been standing opposite her, this young lady would have immediately stormed off.
"Hey, hey, hey," Gu Wenhua quickly stepped in to smooth things over, "Ye Chu, I think the performance just now was very good, it doesn't need to be changed—"
"Do you think that scene was perfect?" Shang Yechu stared intently at Gu Wenhua. "Do you think it was the most suitable?"
Gu Wenhua was introverted by nature and most afraid of making eye contact with people. When Shang Yechu pressed others for answers, his gaze was sharp, even somewhat obsessive, and Gu Wenhua immediately became so nervous that his tongue got tied.
"I...I...Oh no!"
Gu Wenhua stomped her foot. "It's not up to me! Fine! Go ask Teacher Qi Ming! If she's willing to film it, then she can!"
Gu Wenhua couldn't understand Shang Yechu's concern about this scene at all. She didn't even have a role in it, so why was Shang Yechu making such a fuss?
Shang Yechu glanced at Sheng Wenzhi again, but the latter turned her face away without hesitation, refusing to meet Shang Yechu's gaze. She seemed quite angry.
Shang Yechu wasted no more time and headed towards Teacher Qi Ming.
Although Qi Ming was older, his thinking was much more open-minded than that of the two younger people, Gu Wenhua and Sheng Wenzhi. Instead of immediately refusing Shang Yechu, he asked Shang Yechu to show her the version of the script he had revised.
Shang Yechu took out her notebook—the one with the short biography of Xiao Yue—turned to the latest page, and handed it to Qi Ming.

Gu Wenhua stood awkwardly in front of Sheng Wenzhi, unsure of what to do with his hands and feet. Fortunately, Shang Yechu quickly ran back, beaming with joy, and said, "Teacher Qi Ming agreed!"
Qi Ming's agreement was within Gu Wenhua's expectations. The latter, displeased at being forced to work overtime, reluctantly said, "You haven't shown us the script yet."
"Sorry, I forgot." Shang Yechu took out her notebook, laid it flat on the chair she had just been sitting in, took out her phone, and snapped a few photos. "It's handwritten, so please bear with the quality."
Shang Yechu sent the photos to the crew group chat. Gu Wenhua casually glanced at them, his expression gradually changing from displeasure to astonishment.
Ye Chu's modification... seems to actually have some merit.
Gu Wenhua, with the keen eye of a commercial film genius, keenly perceived this point.
But with Sheng Wenzhi still around, and having just praised her to the skies, it wouldn't be appropriate to immediately change his attitude. Gu Wenhua had no choice but to compose himself, coughed, and said, "Alright, everyone, familiarize yourselves with the script, and then let's begin filming."
