After the video source was copied, Gu Wenhua and Shang Yechu sat side by side, placing the two computers in front of them.
Shang Yechu opened the frame-by-frame screenshot software that she had just downloaded on Ji Juntao's computer, imported "The Mute Woman" into it, and placed it beside her. She then opened the video player on Gu Wenhua's computer and started playing "The Mute Woman".
With the office door closed, Shang Yechu played the sound out loud.
The first time, they watched it at normal speed. Shang Yechu and Gu Wenhua watched it attentively for two hours without taking any action.
Two hours passed quickly, and Shang Yechu's brows gradually relaxed, as if she was starting to see some progress.
"Coo coo coo—"
Gu Wenhua's stomach growled at an inopportune moment.
Shang Yechu didn't look at Gu Wenhua, focusing intently on the screen: "Are you hungry?"
Gu Wenhua blushed with embarrassment: "I didn't eat breakfast this morning..."
Aside from breakfast, Shang Yechu only had tea with Jiang Shang Nongchaosheng today, and then drank a few sips of coffee by herself. Gu Wenhua's comment made her a little hungry too.
Shang Yechu tapped her phone and opened the food delivery app: "I want to order takeout. What do you want to eat?"
Gu Wenhua really didn't want to be under the same roof as Shang Yechu, that tigress, so he obediently said, "Let's eat whatever we want quickly. We're in a hurry."
Shang Yechu then clicked on the nearest restaurant and ordered two large portions of chicken rice, plus a large portion of roasted chicken.
While waiting for her takeout, Shang Yechu contacted Ji Juntao again. Thank goodness, he finally answered the phone this time.
Shang Yechu said coolly, "Mr. Ji, do you still remember someone like me?"
"You came to see me about the movie?" Ji Juntao's tone was as calm as ever. "It's all settled."
Shang Yechu let out a long "Oh": "How was it resolved?"
"Just hire someone to write the article for us to argue, what other way is there to resolve this? The ghostwriter I hired has already finished the draft." Ji Juntao clearly intended to gloss over the matter. "I plan to wait a couple of days for this to escalate before releasing it. What do you think?"
Instead of answering, Shang Yechu asked, "How much did it cost to hire a ghostwriter?"
Ji Juntao paused for a moment: "Don't worry about that, it won't come out of your pocket anyway."
Shang Yechu chuckled lightly, no longer pressing Ji Juntao for answers, and instead asked another question: "Who do you think went to great lengths to hire Dong Hongtao?"
Ji Juntao had obviously already investigated this question: "Do you know which company Wei Xuan signed with?"
Shang Yechu frowned; she really didn't know: "Which one?"
“It’s Champion! A subsidiary of Guanjun Century!” Ji Juntao said indignantly. “I don’t know where the news leaked, but they said Zheng Bohan was planning to make an exception for you, a student, and let you get in through the back door. With the ‘Yun Qing Ji’ incident, Guanjun Century and Meta Pictures have another debt to settle. This time, it’s a combination of old and new grudges.”
So that's how it is. Shang Yechu had unknowingly become the small fishing boat squeezed between two giant ships colliding head-on.
When misfortune strikes from the sky, Shang Yechu can only parry the blows; he doesn't yet have the ability to return the bad luck to the other party.
"Are you planning to make a big deal out of this?" Shang Yechu tapped the table unconsciously with her hand. "How confident are you?"
“I’m absolutely confident,” Ji Juntao said firmly. “You just focus on filming. Two days, two days will be enough.”
Shang Yechu remained noncommittal: "Have you finished eating?"
"I ate," Ji Juntao said casually. "What kind of lousy vegetarian food was this? My mouth was so bland. These rich people really have such unique tastes."
"You haven't had a drink, have you?"
