Shang Yechu was taking a shower.
Warm water flowed gently over her body. Shang Yechu wiped the water droplets from her face, her cheeks still wet.
Ji Juntao bought a new shampoo. Shang Yechu pressed the pump and squeezed out a pool of blue shampoo, her palms feeling a little cold.
Shang Yechu slowly rubbed and washed her hair, from the top to the ends, with great effort and seriousness, as if she wanted to wash away all her silliness.
After showering for an unknown amount of time, Shang Yechu felt her legs getting sore and swollen, so she reached out and braced herself against the bathroom wall.
The water above was quite hot, and Shang Yechu's arm gradually turned red, but she was completely unaware of it.
The small space was quiet, with only the sound of flowing water.
"It is inherently difficult for people to understand each other."
The sudden appearance of the number 103 startled Shang Yechu. A dull, slight burning pain came from her arm. Shang Yechu withdrew her hand and rubbed her upper arm.
Why are you suddenly bringing this up?
“I live in your consciousness. But even I can't understand what you're thinking most of the time,” 103 said. “Ji Juntao is even less likely to understand.”
"I know." Shang Yechu started combing her hair. "I'm not angry with her. It's not worth it."
"Then why did you have Ms. Cai drive you to the company tonight?" 103 said, "You didn't even eat the dinner Ms. Song made."
"Is this question related to the mission?"
"It's unrelated. It's just a personal curiosity of mine."
Shang Yechu said, "Then I choose to refuse to answer."
103 guessed, "You lack confidence in your performance, so you want to get support from others?"
"unnecessary."
103 then asked, "So you have a strong urge to share that you have nowhere to release, so you randomly grab someone to be your audience?"
"If that's how you want to think, then think that way."
103 then thought of another possibility: "You knew all along that you would be given the cold shoulder by Ji Juntao, and you were afraid that you would get too caught up in the role and not be able to get out of it, so you came to her specifically to wake you up?"
"First of all, it's not like I'm offering a warm welcome—never mind." Shang Yechu shook her head, spitting out a puff of water droplets. "Secondly, the TV series isn't even finished filming yet. I haven't even had time to get into character, how can I be thinking about stepping back out already?"
103 guessed three times and got them all wrong, feeling somewhat unwilling: "Although I am not familiar with Ms. Ji, judging from your impression of her, it's like you're talking to an artificial intelligence about love when you talk to her about life and ideals—you may speak eloquently, but all your answers are not from the heart, but are entirely calculated."
Shang Yechu picked up a towel and started drying her hair: "That's enough, that's enough. If you want to understand Ms. Ji, you can split yourself in two and let System 51.5 crawl into her brain to see what she's thinking. Instead of constantly nagging in my ear."
103 said coldly, "You're changing the subject again. I was clearly asking about the logic behind your actions in coming to see Ji Juntao, but you're deliberately twisting it into me wanting to understand Ji Juntao. If I asked you, 'Why didn't you eat the dinner Song Huilian made before running away?' would you also say I wanted to understand Song Huilian?"
"Who is Song Huilian?" Shang Yechu asked curiously, wiping the fog off the mirror.
"Aunt Song who cooks for you."
Shang Yechu nodded: "You remember it better than I do. Aunt Song is a nice person. Although she asks a lot of questions from time to time, she keeps her mouth shut."
The topic was once again casually steered away by Shang Yechu, and 103 knew this but was helpless. Shang Yechu was like a seashell; she would never spit out an answer she didn't want to.
Shang Yechu dried herself off, tied her hair into a high ponytail, and changed into the clothes Ji Juntao had bought for her. Boss Ji was always meticulous; the clothes were soft, comfortable, and very loose-fitting. They were very comfortable to wear.
Shang Yechu finished dressing and was about to pick up the hairdryer when she heard 103 suddenly say, "If you answer my question, I'll answer yours too, how about it?"
