Chapter 235 The Truth (1/2)

"Should we talk here?" Shi Shan asked with a smile.

The lounge is not far away.

Shang Yechu settled down on the sofa in the lounge. On the coffee table in front of the sofa was a plate of something dark and gooey, and a pot of tea. Upon closer inspection, Shang Yechu realized that the dark and gooey thing was actually a plate of bread.

“This is rye bread.” Shi Shan, sitting opposite, nodded slightly. “Sorry, I didn’t eat enough, so I asked the club to bake some. You don’t mind, do you?”

As he spoke, Shi Shan opened the box next to the bread—inside was a stack of disposable gloves. He slowly put on the gloves and picked up a piece of dark brown bread.

Shi Shan took a bite of bread, chewed it a few times, and swallowed it. He then recommended to Shang Yechu, "Yechu, would you like to try it? It tastes pretty good."

Shang Yechu looked at the other person's hand holding the bread slice and the gentle and concerned expression on their face, and raised her eyelids slightly.

“This bread is very low in calories.” Shi Shan looked understanding. “If we’re going to practice shooting later, the energy expenditure will be high. It won’t hurt to eat some.”

Having said all that, Shang Yechu put on gloves, picked up a piece of bread, and took a small bite.

The rye bread is dense and moist, but not soft; it has a heavy, even somewhat coarse texture. A rich wheat aroma and a slightly tart flavor come together, but otherwise, there are no other tastes.

This is a piece of bread that has no purpose other than filling the stomach; its only advantage is that it is chewy.

Shang Yechu swallowed a piece of bread in two bites, then grabbed another. Looking up at Shi Shan, she saw that he had only taken two bites.

Shi Shan didn't actually need the bread, so why did he ask the club to prepare it in advance... Shang Yechu shook her head inwardly. This was truly a terrifying man. No wonder those artists couldn't handle him before.

Shang Yechu didn't disappoint Shi Shan's kindness, eating more than half of the plate of bread before stopping. At the same time, Shi Shan leisurely swallowed the last bite. Unlike Shang Yechu, whose face contorted in disgust as she choked on the bread, Shi Shan remained composed and dignified, his expression no different from when he was eating leafy greens.

"Now you can tell me, right?" Shang Yechu took off her gloves. "What did you want to see me about?"

Shi Shan stood up, picked up the teapot, and leaned over to pour Shang Yechu a cup of tea.

“This is oolong tea,” Shi Shan said.

Shang Yechu gently touched the cup; it was slightly warm to the touch, just the right temperature.

Shi Shan poured himself another cup of tea, put down the teapot, and looked up at Shang Yechu.

Do you know what stage the casting process for "Half a Sky" is at?

This was exactly the question Shang Yechu wanted to know, but Shang Yechu knew that there was no such thing as a free lunch.

"I haven't been notified yet." Shang Yechu slightly raised the corners of her lips, revealing a social smile. "Has Brother Shi received the news?"

"I wouldn't say I received the news; I just overheard the director mention it occasionally while chatting with him," Shi Shan said casually.

Do Shi Shan and Xu Hanwen know each other?

That's true. Shi Shan is a top-tier actor in both film and television, with numerous hit dramas under his belt. It's perfectly normal for him to be acquainted with Xu Hanwen, a first-rate director.
