Zheng Bohan is very busy every day. Every time the crew sees him, they see him writing and drawing with a pen.
It must be said that the saying "everyone has their own expertise" is truly a timeless classic. Zheng Bohan is undoubtedly a great talent in the screenwriting world, but in the field of directing, he can only be considered a junior.
Positioning, lighting, setting, composition—Zheng Bohan certainly understood these things. But because he hadn't practiced them, he only knew them theoretically.
Besides experienced actors like Shang Yechu and Qin Tianye, everyone in the crew suffered under Zheng Bohan's influence. A single shot often required multiple takes. This included repeated NGs, adjustments, on-set script changes, and frequent miscommunications due to insufficient rehearsal.
Filming for "Yun Qing Ji" went on aimlessly for five days in this atmosphere, and the actors' fatigue had reached its peak. Zheng Bohan's expression also grew increasingly grim.
That very day, after another morning of fruitless work, Zheng Bohan had no choice but to call a break. A lazy and dejected atmosphere, like a deadly poison, spread throughout the set.
"The support food truck is here!"
The shouts of the crew members drew everyone's attention. The crew members, who had been lying haphazardly, stood up or sat up straight and looked towards the source of the sound.
It's no wonder everyone's watching the spectacle. The "Yun Qing Ji" production crew's base is right here; even if all the fans present were combined, they probably couldn't afford a food truck. Could this be a support event organized by Qin Tianye's fans? But Qin Tianye's fanbase doesn't seem like the type to organize these kinds of things.
A large food truck, with its fresh and vibrant color scheme of mauve and white, came into view, bringing a touch of coolness to the sweltering early autumn air.
The food truck was parked next to the photography studio. Several tall, burly young men opened the doors and jumped out. Without even glancing at the people present, they opened the truck compartments, set up the light boards, and arranged the equipment as if no one else was there.
In an instant, a giant life-size standee unfolded beside the food truck. The beautiful woman on the standee smiled sweetly, with one finger placed diagonally in front of her lips, making a kissing gesture.
Above the dining car was a light sign in shades of mauve and purple, with dark purple fairy lights weaving two huge lines of English text: SUGAR × Overturned palace.
The interior of the food cart resembles a counter, but it's decorated much more elaborately and with a more girlish touch. Pink and white flowers and balloons surround the spotless glass, creating a feeling of a moving castle. On the light pink back wall, the words "Wishing 'Yun Qing Ji' great success in ratings!" are written in cute cursive script.
Further down, beneath the counter, was a massive, light purple advertising banner. It featured a cute, cartoonish figure in the same pose as the huge standee of a beautiful woman on the side of the vehicle. Next to it were two lines of black, cursive lettering:
[Su Ge × "Yun Qing Ji"]
Good luck with your startup!
Shang Yechu's spirits lifted.
The female lead has finally arrived!
After setting up the food truck, the staff changed their previous indifference and began to warmly invite the crew members to come and get their meals.
In South Korea, where the entertainment culture is highly developed, "coffee trucks" or "food trucks" can be found on film and television shooting sets, concert venues, and large fan meetings, providing food and drinks for staff and fans.
These coffee trucks or food trucks might be fan support events, or they might be preparations made in advance by the artist's team or company. Many are also gifts from friends within or outside the entertainment industry. Regardless of the reason, it's a gesture of goodwill, care, and consideration.
As the saying goes, "He who eats another's food is bound to him, and he who takes another's gift is bound to him." If you've accepted gifts or support from someone's fans or friends, you can't help but be polite to them on set.
