Gu Wenhua replied, "Yes."
"What are you doing?"
Gu Wenhua paused for a moment, then lowered his voice: "It seems like he's laughing."
"Didn't you tell her about Shishan's trip?"
Gu Wenhua's voice lowered, tinged with surprise: "I told her. She didn't object, she even smiled. Could it be that she likes Brother Shi too?"
What do you mean by "like"? Gu Wenhua, that clueless fellow, probably can't tell the difference between Ji Juntao's cold smile and his genuine one.
Shang Yechu shook her head helplessly and added a few more words of advice: "Okay, you should get some rest. I should be at the agreed location in about half an hour."
After hanging up the phone, Shang Yechu walked to Shi Shan's side and noticed that he seemed to have just taken a shower as well, as he carried a refreshing scent of club shower gel.
It seems they were prepared in advance.
Shang Yechu didn't particularly like this kind of behavior—asking her questions after already having made a decision—but there was no point in arguing about such trivial matters. She nodded slightly and said, "Shall we set off now?"
-------------
Gu Wenhua prefers Chinese food, and besides, the matters to be discussed today are quite important, so he cannot drink alcohol. The welcoming banquet was therefore held at a private restaurant.
The location was on the fifth floor. The first thing Shang Yechu saw upon entering was Ji Juntao's back as he stood by the window. Just like Shi Shan had done at the French restaurant, he was gazing at the night view while gently swirling the glass in his hand—
etc.
Shang Yechu realized that Ji Juntao wasn't shaking red wine, but a red can of Want Want milk. The bald little figure on the can spun around with her movements, looking incredibly alluring.
...
That damned bastard.
Shang Yechu burst out laughing. Shi Shan, who was following closely behind her, stopped and asked in surprise, "What are you laughing at?"
"It's nothing." Shang Yechu suppressed a laugh, trying hard not to recall what Shi Shan looked like last time. "Come in quickly."
The room was spacious. A young man was sitting on the sofa using a laptop. Upon seeing Shang Yechu enter, he quickly came forward to greet her: "Yechu."
Shang Yechu was taken aback. The newcomer had an average appearance, with many acne scars on his face and a sallow complexion. He looked rather listless. However, his clothes and appearance were quite clean and neat, without much to be uncomfortable about.
Shang Yechu recognized the person from the familiar acne scars: "Xiao Gu? You...you..."
After hesitating for a long time, Shang Yechu finally managed to utter, "You've had a beauty treatment?"
Gu Ma Zi doesn't have any more pockmarks?!
Gu Wenhua's face flushed, seemingly embarrassed: "These are all brands recommended by President Ji, they work very well. Do they look worse than before?"
"No, not at all. You look fine." Gu Wenhua looks much better than before, but he doesn't seem to be in good health, which makes one worry that he might die young. "Why have you lost so much weight?"
He went from being a slightly chubby young man to a skinny guy; his oversized clothes fluttered in the wind.
Gu Wenhua visibly cheered: "Really? That's great. The tutorial said that to get rid of acne, you have to watch what you eat and not eat greasy food. I've been eating sweet potatoes and corn for over a month."
"Just these two things?" Shang Yechu asked with a strange expression.
Gu Wenhua said apologetically, "Actually, there are quite a few varieties: boiled corn, steamed sweet potatoes, roasted corn, roasted sweet potatoes, corn porridge, sweet potato porridge, corn and sweet potato porridge, instant cornmeal..."
"Stop, stop, stop."
If she has to eat only this for more than a month, she might as well be hanged.
Shi Shan is an actor, and dieting to maintain his physique is part of his job. Gu Wenhua, however, is a director, working behind the scenes. Theoretically, no one would criticize him even if he were as fat as a pig. Yet, he went to such lengths to improve his image at the Ying Shi Film Festival!
The director is the soul of a film; the director's image is directly related to the film's image. This director truly deserves to be called a great director; his appreciation for film is admirable!
Shang Yechu, who had never successfully lost weight on her own initiative, suddenly felt pity and admiration: "Are you going to eat this again tonight?"
Gu Wenhua got goosebumps from Shang Yechu's respectful gaze and subconsciously said, "No need, no need. That's enough. We can have something else tonight..."
Shang Yechu looked at Gu Wenhua's small frame with pity: "Eat more, your face is turning yellow from eating too much."
"This must be Teacher Gu, right?"
Shi Shan's voice came from behind, and Shang Yechu then remembered that there was someone behind her.
Shi Shan walks silently, and Shang Ye Chu often forgets he exists.
"Look at my memory," Shang Yechu laughed. "Director Gu, this is Shi Shan. Brother Shi, this is Director Gu."
