Chapter 254 Local Warfare (1/2)

At this point, Shang Yechu and Ji Juntao had done everything they could. All they could do now was wait.

Filming for "Half a Day" must begin on December 6th, and it's already the end of November. That means Ruguan TV must make a decision within a week.

Before this, Shang Yechu never relaxed for a moment. She practiced shooting, read espionage materials, and exercised. Her daily routine consisted of three things: eating vegetarian food, drinking tea, and exercising.

Building muscle is difficult, and maintaining a regular sleep schedule and a healthy diet is even more challenging for Shang Yechu. The change in lifestyle made it very difficult for her to adjust. But perhaps a healthy diet and lifestyle really can affect one's mood; as the due date approached, Shang Yechu's heart calmed down.

Do your best and leave the rest to fate; that's all there is to it.

Before Ru Guan TV made the official announcement, there was another very important thing: the finale of the "Xiao Feng Que" series was finally going to air.

Sun Xiaoxiao slumped on the sofa, pouting, looking completely distracted.

As Xiaoxiao's mother passed by, she cautiously asked, "Xiaoxiao, are you having dinner tonight?"

Sun Xiaoxiao's emotions have been very unstable these past two days. She's irritable and easily angered, often throwing things and even taking her anger out on her family. This has left Xiaoxiao's parents bewildered, and they've become increasingly soft-spoken towards her.

Before today, Sun Xiaoxiao hadn't eaten dinner for two nights in a row. Although she had little hope that her daughter would eat today, Xiaoxiao's mother still came to ask.

To her surprise, although Sun Xiaoxiao looked angry and impatient, she replied politely: "Eat. Mom, please serve me a bowl of rice."

While Xiaoxiao's parents were setting the table, Xiaoxiao sat down and continued typing away on her phone.

After Ye Chu and Shi Shan both trended on social media, the "Climbing Ivy Sister" (a nickname for a female internet celebrity) launched a full-scale attack on Ye Chu. Ye Chu's Weibo search results, comment sections, and other online comment sections were all in disarray, filled with the ravages of the "Climbing Ivy Sister."

In the first few days, the fans knew they were no match for Tiger Sister and could only remain silent. The big fans worked hard to maintain order, the super topic administrators activated the level verification with one click, and restrained and persuaded the smaller fans who couldn't help but retaliate.

Even worse, if some of the younger fans' comments are too extreme, the management team will reluctantly blacklist them and sever ties, turning their fellow fans (those who like the same idol) into fake haters. This tragic scene of cutting off one's arm to survive is comparable to Emperor Jing's execution of Chao Cuo.

This was, of course, incredibly frustrating. Many casual and small-time fans couldn't stand the oppressive and stifling atmosphere and abandoned the fandom. Furthermore, although Ji Juntao spent a fortune to suppress the rumors of Shang Yechu's plastic surgery, it was impossible to keep it from the fans. The loss of fans became even more severe.

Shang Yechu logged into Weibo and checked the number of followers she had lost; her heart ached. The followers she gained weren't necessarily real people, but the followers she lost were definitely active. Given the size of her current fanbase, this amount of follower loss was a significant drain on her resources.

Afraid of affecting her mood, Shang Yechu simply uninstalled Weibo and opened Pixiv, hoping to relax by finding some of her own creations. The result—good heavens, below Ye Luochen's video clips, only a handful of leaf buds were pitifully battling an onslaught of massive amounts of ivy…

Out of sight, out of mind, Shang Yechu simply uninstalled Pi Station as well.

Green Petal is currently the only safe haven. Of course, this doesn't mean Green Petal users will actively defend Shang Yechu. Rather, it means they will criticize both Shi Shan and Shang Yechu. Moreover, due to Green Petal's ironclad rule of "the less popular one wins when two 208s meet," Shang Yechu receives slightly better treatment than Shi Shan.

There's no way around it; if you want to play a good role, you inevitably have to work with celebrities who are high-profile and famous; and the fans of these celebrities are often not easy to mess with.

To be able to outrank someone of a higher rank without facing any criticism was something Shang Yechu never dared to dream of. However, the ivy was simply too rampant, to the point that both Shang Yechu and Ye Ya were finding it difficult to cope.

For the first few days, Ye Ya was able to swallow her anger and endure being unilaterally beaten by Climbing Ivy without any large-scale conflict erupting. It was thought that Climbing Ivy would stop after she had her fill of scolding, but unfortunately, things didn't go as planned.

Fan wars differ from casual online arguments; the latter involve no conflict of interest with the artists, and the verbal sparring is quickly forgotten. Fan wars involving billing order and other interests, however, are far from peaceful and are more akin to real conflicts.

In other words, peace agreements are essentially worthless; humiliation and concessions only result in the loss of five cities today and ten more tomorrow. There is only one way to end this pointless war of words: to stop the war with war, making the other side pay an equal price, thus deterring both sides.

After being scolded for two days, the Ye Ya sisters finally understood the lesson and began to fight back!

Sun Xiaoxiao's irritability and anger these past two days are the result of her rising up in resistance.

Engaging in online flame wars is extremely draining. Shi Shan has a large following, so often, just as Sun Xiaoxiao utters a single insult, a dozen or so vulgar comments follow. In this situation, not having a mental breakdown is a testament to exceptional mental fortitude.

Sun Xiaoxiao's three accounts have already been banned. She's using all her pocket money to buy accounts with higher authority, to gamble again with the "Climbing Ivy Sisters".

The Leaf Buds successively established ten anti-black groups, but an undercover agent infiltrated these groups, took screenshots of the chat logs, and posted them online, only to be ridiculed by the Ivy Sisters. Three of the ten anti-black groups were disbanded.

Some of Sun Xiaoxiao's mutual followers had their accounts banned, while others were cyberbullied to the point of quitting the internet. They scattered to the four corners of the earth, never again to be the spirited group they once were, gathered together because of Pingzhao.
