Chapter 369 Seeking Sponsorship (2/2)

After reading this news article, Shang Yechu finally understood where this inexplicable sense of class came from.

In Shang Yechu's view, spending an extra two thousand yuan just to change the color of a phone is simply burning money. These days, Yeya (young girls) are proud to own this green brick phone, and it's common to see them buying it from scalpers for hundreds or even thousands of yuan more. Shang Yechu isn't proud of this; instead, she feels sorry for these kids.

Since she had decided to support these fans for the long term, Shang Yechu felt that she couldn't ignore the matter.

"When will Renxing restock?" Shang Yechu couldn't help but ask. Once the official restocking is complete, the scalpers usually quiet down.

"How would I know?" Ji Juntao didn't even lift his eyelids. "This isn't something we should worry about. Your magazine goes on sale at midnight sharp, are you ready?"

"Ready." Shang Yechu waved his hand and said, "Could I issue a 'call for rational consumption' to stop Ye Ya and the others from buying those overpriced brick-like machines? The official restocking will be done in the next day or two."

"Are you crazy?" Ji Juntao finally managed to spare a glance from his busy schedule and stared at Shang Yechu's face. "The spokesperson is urging fans to consume the brand they endorse rationally. Are you planning to be blacklisted by all your sponsors for the rest of your life?"

Shang Yechu knew she had asked a stupid question, scratched her arm in frustration, and remained silent.

The relationship between celebrities and fans is an age-old and difficult problem. Shang Yechu has never been able to comfortably exploit her fans, yet she also cannot live a simple life like veteran artists who are indifferent to fame and fortune, never accepting endorsements.

Wanting to make money but unable to bring yourself to do it, craving wealth but unwilling to suffer the pangs of conscience—where in the world of fame and fortune can you find such a lucrative deal?

Shang Yechu sometimes envied Ji Juntao. Ji Juntao was ruthless in exploiting anyone. For example, Zhuang Sheng's fans were being fleeced by Ji Juntao. And then there was that new boy band the company was creating—Shang Yechu hadn't even remembered their names yet, but they were already being exploited with great fanfare.

According to Shang Yechu, Zhuang Sheng's figure and acting skills would need to be thrown into a hundred film sets to wash away that greasy feeling; and the company's boy band, when they sing, are even worse, howling like ghosts. These two half-finished products, however, have fans who are more and more desperate than the other, cursing Ji Juntao's ancestors for eighteen generations while sending money to Ji Juntao.

With a swift stroke of his knife, Ji Juntao's new office building for Qingping Entertainment sprang up against the wind.

She's a born ruthless capitalist. As long as the money comes from a legal source, she doesn't care who it came from or what heartbreaking stories lie behind it.

Shang Yechu could never do that.

However, Shang Yechu thought again that Ji Juntao would never toss and turn over a script, and would never experience different lives. It wasn't that she was inferior to Ji Juntao, but rather that their talents differed in different fields. Thinking this way, she felt more at peace.

As his thoughts raced, Shang Yechu suddenly had an idea.

"Old Ji, do you think it's possible for Renxing Mobile to sponsor 'Rules Street'?"
