The empress did not answer; instead, she stood up and reached for the pear blossoms hanging by the window.
The emperor suddenly realized something.
"Don't go." The emperor's face was hidden in the shadows, and he uttered the words indistinctly.
The Empress ignored her and tiptoed to reach for the pear blossom closest to her.
"I told you not to go!" the emperor shouted. He rushed to the window and tried to grab her.
Unfortunately, it was too late. The woman's figure vanished in an instant amidst the falling pear blossoms, as if she had never existed.
The emperor raised his head, and the pear blossoms in the garden were falling white, like snowflakes.
The emperor lowered his head; a jar still sat on the table. It didn't contain pear blossom wine, but rather a jar of sour-smelling medicinal soup.
The emperor summoned the palace servants and asked, "Who sent this medicine?"
The palace maid bowed respectfully and said, "The Princess heard that His Majesty was worried day and night about matters of state, so she specially prepared a bowl of calming soup and sent it to you."
"I understand." The emperor waved his hand weakly. "You may leave."
“cut”.
Zheng Bohan's "cut" sounded like he was sleepwalking; several staff members didn't hear him clearly and only stopped when people around him reminded him.
Everyone held their breath and stared at Zheng Bohan with tension.
Zheng Bohan looked around the field with a troubled expression before finally saying, "This one's passed."
Everyone felt as if they had been granted a pardon. These past few days had been excruciating for Miss Su; they were practically on the verge of developing PTSD.
Su Ge almost jumped up!
This was the first time she'd ever nailed a scene in one take—meaning she did it perfectly without the director going easy on her or her lines being read aloud. And it was right in front of Teacher Qin!
Su Ge excitedly rushed to Qin Tianye, opened her mouth as if to say something, but feeling apprehensive about returning home, she didn't know what to do.
Qin Tianye patted Su Ge on the shoulder generously: "Little Su, you've made great progress. You must have put in a lot of effort these past few days, right?"
"No, no," Su Ge quickly said, "Teacher Qin, actually I am—"
"Su Ge".
Zheng Bohan's voice came from behind. Qin Tianye looked up and asked, "Old Zheng? Is there anywhere else that needs reshooting?"
Zheng Bohan hesitated for a moment, then instead of answering Qin Tianye, he asked Su Ge, "How are you feeling...?"
"Huh?" Su Ge asked, puzzled. "I'm in great shape?"
Zheng Bohan gestured and asked, "Can you recreate that state from just now?"
Just now, Su Ge seemed to be divinely inspired. Her gaze towards the emperor was tender and full of complex emotions. Without any lighting or filters, just looking at her, one could see how deeply she loved the emperor.
Is this something Su Ge can act out?
Such natural acting skills were beyond Su Ge's capabilities. Zheng Bohan strongly suspected that someone had cast a spell on Su Ge!
Zheng Bohan really wanted to film a few more close-up shots, but he was worried that Su Ge's acting skills were limited to a single scene. He was afraid that once the camera started rolling, Su Ge's acting skills would be exposed like Cinderella's pumpkin carriage.
Su Ge glanced at Qin Tianye subconsciously, then lowered her head and said, "If Teacher Qin were here too... perhaps, maybe?"
Qin Tianye chuckled and said, "Of course I'll be there. I can't expect you to act against a whiteboard or green screen."
Zheng Bohan still couldn't believe it and asked probingly, "You hired a drama coach?"
Su Ge glanced subconsciously at the perimeter of the film set; Shang Yechu was no longer there.
"Actually, I asked some actresses with good acting skills, uh, my girlfriends," Su Ge said haphazardly, "the ones whose names have 'Ye' in them."
Zheng Bohan raised an eyebrow in surprise.
Shang Yechu can not only act, but also teach acting?
