“Here, here,” Ji Juntao said, chewing on a piece of toast, as he read the comments on his tablet to Shang Yechu, “'Shishan, in the instant you handed Yechu the flower wreath, did you recall the basket of pears you gave An Ran years ago?'”
Shang Yechu took a bite of the large pear in her hand with a blank expression, making a "crunch" sound.
"'It's just a variety show, but there are so many sweet moments between Shi Ge and Weiwei that we need to index them all. Are we proud of that?'"
Shang Yechu glanced at Ji Juntao: "The way you call Shi Ge is hilarious."
Ji Juntao said, "Do you have any new toothbrushes? Lend me one, I want to brush my teeth properly tonight—and this too! 'Love can't be faked, you can tell from the eyes. Ye Chu is just a business partner, but the way Shi Ge looks at Lulu is truly precious and cherished.'"
Shang Yechu pinched the bridge of her nose: "Do you really have to read these things in front of the TV?"
Ji Juntao ignored him: "And this too, 'Third Sister's fans, can you stop jumping around? Your sweet talk is hard to swallow, gritty, and tastes like artificial sweetener. Yun Si'er didn't make you kneel down because Yun Si'er is so well-mannered, how come you're taking advantage of her?'"
"And who is the third sister?"
Ji Juntao said gloatingly, "Of course it's Ms. Ye Chu, who is both far away and right in front of us! 'Third Sister' is a euphemism for 'mistress'."
Shang Yechu slowly lowered the hand that was pinching the bridge of her nose: "Me?"
"Beating up mistresses is also one of the hobbies of CP fans," Ji Juntao waved his hand. "And this—'Shi Shan only sought out someone to satisfy his physical passion; he and Yin Yin are true soulmates. A true lover is someone even the woman's family blesses!'"
Shang Yechu vaguely remembered the name: "Isn't Yinyin the one... the one Shi Shan went to be the godfather of her son?"
"Bingo~" Ji Juntao nudged Shang Yechu with his elbow, "When did you and Shi Shan have physical passion?"
"That's not true." Shang Yechu pressed the remote control and turned the volume up a bit.
Ji Juntao leaned close to Shang Yechu's face: "Really? Actually, if you want to find some temporary partners, I won't stop you. But they have to be clean and easy to deal with. Although we have money now, we should still save where we can..."
Shang Yechu quickly knelt down before Ji Juntao: "Ji Juntao—Boss Ji—my dear little Tao Tao! After finishing filming 'Starry Summer,' I didn't even go home. I went straight back to the commercial street to continue filming 'Rules Street,' and filmed for twenty-seven hours straight! Do you think I'm Superman, with this kind of schedule, I still have the leisure to think about those things in my lower body?"
Adults all have desires, and Shang Yechu wasn't ashamed to discuss them. But Ji Juntao's conversation became increasingly absurd, making Shang Yechu sound like some energetic, restless female stud, eager to summon a male prostitute at any moment. Good heavens, Shang Yechu hadn't had a full night's sleep in months!
Shang Yechu warned, "Ms. Ji Juntao, if you want to watch TV, shut up. If you keep throwing trash into my ears, I'll throw you off the second floor. Shi Shan and I only touch hands or hug each other when it's necessary for business; we don't have any other contact."
Ji Juntao curled his lips: "So innocent? Then why didn't you answer when I asked you which parts of 'Summer of Stars' were scripted and which parts were improvised by you?"
That's how it is when you talk to Ji Juntao; she'll steer every conversation back to her original purpose, using every means to dig out the truth. Trying to win an argument with Ji Juntao is the dumbest decision in the world.
Shang Yechu simply peeled off the seal of the toast box on the coffee table and slapped it onto her mouth to show her determination to no longer pay attention to Ji Juntao.
The episode featuring Li Ruhui's death is a very important one for Shang Yechu. She doesn't want to ruin the atmosphere of watching this episode for the first time.
Seeing Shang Yechu's behavior, Ji Juntao's expression slowly darkened.
The situation was a little more serious than she had anticipated.
In this world, besides his own mother, the person Ji Juntao understands best is none other than Shang Yechu. In order to completely control Yechu (though he has not yet succeeded), Ji Juntao has conducted a long, comprehensive, and multi-dimensional observation of Shang Yechu. If there were a judging panel for the Shang Yechu observation competition, Ji Juntao should be sitting in the position of chief judge.
Ji Juntao knew Shang Yechu's nature all too well—she always oscillated between pride and arrogance, complacency and confidence, conceit and inferiority, and the desire for and aversion to affection. The more you tried to persuade her, the more enthusiastic and eager she became.
To change her mind, the only way is to address the root cause, destroying the sense of self-importance in her mind and letting her know that she is nothing special to Shi Shan.
To this end, Ji Juntao, despite feeling nauseous, went to great lengths to dig up comments from Shi Shan's ex-boyfriends' CP fans, then extracted and refined this garbage before dumping it all into Shang Yechu's ears.
With Shang Yechu's pride, she would never allow herself to be dragged into situations involving fighting mistresses, stealing men, or vying for favor. Once those things are set aside, Shang Yechu, while not necessarily hating Shi Shan to the core, would at least feel a bit disgusted by him. The mere sight of Shi Shan would conjure up images of those filthy things; love, hate, and acting would all have to take a backseat!
Nothing was more important than Shang Yechu's self-esteem, even if it was just acting. Not to mention that elusive warmth.
She had brought truckloads of eye drops right in front of Shang Yechu, so why didn't he show any reaction?
