Chapter 438 Family Fun Making Dumplings (1/2)

Shang Yechu lowered her eyes and scrutinized the woman in front of her.

He's stronger than he was three years ago, and much younger than in his previous life. The only thing that hasn't changed is his strength; he's so powerful that he could knock Shang Yechu unconscious.

The woman, who had been sobbing while clinging to Shang Yechu, gradually quieted down when she saw that Shang Yechu remained silent. Finally, she awkwardly stopped halfway through, falling silent like a chicken being strangled.

"Little...Little Boss," the woman stammered, looking at her hesitantly, "Why don't you call me Mom?"

Shang Yechu's facial muscles twitched slightly. The question "Who are you?" stuck in her throat, neither daring to speak nor daring to speak.

Shang Hongxuan stepped in to smooth things over, pulling the woman aside: "What kind of talk is this! Look at you, you've scared the child."

Shang Yechu raised her eyebrows and looked at Shang Hongxuan: "Who are you?"

Shang Hongxuan's face stiffened for a moment, then he put on a friendly smile: "Teacher Ye, please don't be offended. Our eldest daughter went missing three years ago, and she looks a lot like you. My husband has been in poor mental health ever since then, and he rushes to call out to anyone who looks like her."

The woman hid behind Shang Hongxuan, nervously rubbing her hands together.

Shang Hongxuan said without blinking, "We've been looking for this child for three years... Look, this is a picture of her when she was little."

Shang Hongxuan pulled out a headshot from his wallet. In the photo, a chubby little girl was grinning at Shang Yechu.

"We saw the video your fan made for you online. When you first started out, you and my eldest daughter were indeed..."

Shang Hongxuan's smile was impeccable, just like when he entertained guests at home. However, the moment he turned to the woman, his expression changed completely: "What are you still standing there for? Hurry up and go make the dumplings!"

The woman glanced uneasily at Shang Yechu, then turned and went to the kitchen to make dumplings.

Shang Yechu coldly watched the farce unfolding before her, her lips moving slightly: "I am not your daughter."

“Well,” Shang Hongxuan lowered his eyebrows, “of course I know. It’s just that my wife’s mental state isn’t very good, and she doesn’t seem to have many years left to live. Could you please have a meal with our family to fulfill my wife’s wish? It would be better than her constantly acting crazy, crying for her daughter—we only have one daughter, and she cherishes her like the apple of her eye. Look at her, such a lovely girl, spoiled rotten and chubby…”

Shang Hongxuan waved the headshot back and forth at Shang Yechu, his eyes fixed intently on Shang Yechu's expression.

Unfortunately, Shang Yechu was an actress. He didn't see what he was looking for on her face. The actress simply nodded: "I understand. I'm sorry about your daughter. But I have other things to attend to, so I'll be going now."

Shang Yechu turned to leave, but Shang Hongxuan, seeing that his plan had failed, glared at Shang Jiayu, who was standing to the side playing on his phone.

Shang Jiayu glanced timidly at Shang Yechu. According to his plan, he should be throwing himself at her, begging her to stay for dinner. But for some reason, he felt this woman possessed an unusually cold aura, and also, she didn't seem to like him very much.

After hesitating for a while, seeing that Shang Hongxuan's eyes were becoming increasingly murderous, Shang Jiayu finally steeled himself and stepped forward, grabbing Shang Yechu's sleeve: "Sister, sister. Please stay for a meal." He couldn't say anything more than that, his eyes wide and tongue lolling out.

With a look of exasperation, Shang Hongxuan pulled Shang Jiayu behind him, grabbed Shang Yechu, and said with a smile, "Teacher Ye, please stay for a meal. Consider it taking care of my crazy wife. After this meal, our family has been bothering us for so many days, so it's time for us to go."

Why did Shang Hongxuan insist on inviting Shang Yechu to dinner? Could it be that this family has the ability to orchestrate a trap?

Shang Yechu glanced around the room but didn't notice anything unusual.

It's impossible that this family would travel all that way, only have one meal with Shang Yechu, and then leave.

Shang Yechu thought with a hint of mockery, if she really stayed here to finish this meal, would the Shang family really just pack up and leave?
