Chapter 458 Vulgar Love (1/2)

Ji Juntao's face appeared on the phone screen.

Before he could even say hello, his first words startled Shang Yechu so much that she stumbled.

Ji Juntao scrutinized Shang Yechu for a long time: "You were wrapping ducks at the beach?"

Shang Yechu: "..."

Shang Yechu emphasized, "I love hygiene, unlike some bosses."

"That's really strange," Ji Juntao muttered. "When we video chatted a few days ago, your forehead was dark, you looked like you had a lot of liver fire, and you looked sexually frustrated. But now you look..."

Shang Yechu quickly interrupted her: "You've switched to face reading? Speak quickly, the director needs to reshoot later."

Ji Juntao dropped the topic of health and asked, "What are your plans for promoting 'Happiness Street'?"

After much negotiation and back-and-forth, "Rules Street" has been officially renamed "Happiness Street, Please Come In!" and will be released during the Spring Festival, competing with a host of other films in the holiday season.

Shang Yechu expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the name "Rules Street," a name rich in meaning and profound in connotation, being changed to something so auspicious. Unfortunately, his protest was in vain. Ji Juntao had even consulted a fortune teller who predicted that this name would bring him immense wealth.

Films scheduled for the Spring Festival season typically begin promotion two to three months in advance; some big-budget productions even start their promotional campaign six months ahead. Now that it's late December, the promotion for "Happy Street" is actually a bit late.

The staff at Qingping Entertainment worked themselves to the bone, putting in extra hours and having countless proposals rejected by Ji Juntao, before finally managing to produce a satisfactory result just before the deadline.

The agent and assistant have already reported everything regarding the publicity to Shang Yechu in detail. It's unclear why Ji Juntao specifically made a video call to inquire.

"The roadshow is at least a month away, right?" Shang Yechu calculated the days. "Live streaming and Weibo interaction can be done here in Xiatan. Short video marketing and buying trending topics and hot searches are the PR department's job. Do you expect me to do all the editing myself?"

"It's good that you know what's going on." Ji Juntao said meaningfully, "I thought you were already having too much fun in Xiatan to remember your homeland."

As soon as he finished speaking, Shang Yechu immediately understood. What had President Ji heard? He was sending this message all the way to warn her!

"Who told you that?" Shang Yechu brought a bunch of assistants, bodyguards, and other miscellaneous personnel, all of whom could be suspected of being informants.

"Nobody, I have eyes that can see a thousand miles." Ji Juntao hesitated for a moment, then asked cautiously, "Are you serious, or just playing around?"

Shang Yechu felt a sudden jolt in her heart.

She hadn't really thought about this question, so she simply passed the buck back: "What does it mean to be serious, and what does it mean to just play around?"

“Being serious means…” Ji Juntao thought for a long time but couldn’t think of any examples of seriousness around him. “Being serious means being serious. Playing around means like me and Xiao Ka.”

"And who is Xiao Ka?" Shang Yechu thought Ji Juntao was about to spout some profound theories, but instead he just kept babbling incomprehensible nonsense.

"The love of my life."

"Your true love isn't that person," Shang Yechu tried hard to recall, "...it's Xiaoshu?"

“Little Tree is from the story before that.” Ji Juntao took a sip of coffee. “Little Ka is prettier than him.”

That's Ji Juntao's new gigolo.
