Which movie should we start with?
As the fast-talking Lao Liu hummed a song, he walked to the ticket machine. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, a long line of people had formed in front of the ticket machine.
"This one's definitely going to be good," Lao Liu, the quick-tongued man, heard a clear voice coming from ahead. "It's Ye Chu in it!"
Fast-talking Lao Liu peeked out cautiously; ahead stood four young people—two men and two women. One of the young men seemed reluctant: "I don't think so. The title sounds so old-fashioned. I still want to watch 'Don't Touch My Dad,' a Happy Chips movie. It might not be good, but at least it won't be boring. You insisted on ordering this..."
The young girl pouted and linked arms with another girl: "Then we'll go see 'Happy Street,' you two can get your tickets refunded and go 'find your dad'!"
Another girl was also dissatisfied: "Didn't they agree on this when we were grabbing pre-sale tickets a few days ago? Why did they change their minds at the last minute?"
The last boy to speak said with a grin, "Don't wrong an innocent person, I haven't changed my mind. If he wants to see, let his dad go see for himself." As he spoke, he moved back to show that he was standing next to his two female friends.
The boy who had changed his mind muttered a couple of things, trying to appease and apologize, before gradually falling silent.
Looks like two couples on a date. Fast-talking Lao Liu thought sourly. As a video creator, he rarely leaves his house and is almost thirty-five and still single. These young people, on the other hand, are dating before they've even grown up properly—it's so unfair.
The line gradually moved forward, and Lao Liu, the talkative old man, idly played with his phone. He frowned when he heard a child's shrill cry again. Glancing to the side, he saw a family of five—three generations: an elderly couple, a middle-aged couple, and a mischievous little boy jumping and leaping about.
"I want to see 'The Story of the Lanterns'!" the little boy shouted in a high-pitched voice, humming the melody of the story, "Lantern lantern lantern lantern lantern lantern lantern lantern lantern~"
The Spring Festival film season always has an excessive number of children, and the fast-talking Lao Liu shuddered, silently praying that this family would hurry up and go see "The Story of the Lanterns" so they wouldn't be in the same theater as him.
The child's parents seemed uninterested in "The Story of the Lantern," appearing somewhat reluctant. The elderly couple chimed in, "If the child wants to see it, let him see it."
The child's father sighed, took out his phone, and prepared to go to the cinema counter to buy tickets. Just then, the quick-witted Lao Liu noticed the child's mother giving him a wink.
The child's father lingered at the front desk for a while, then came back and said, "The line is too crowded, let's buy it on our phones." As he spoke, he fiddled with his phone for a bit.
Quick-talking Lao Liu vaguely noticed a yellow poster flashing across the child's father's phone screen, and his eyelids twitched involuntarily—the poster for "The Story of the Lantern" is blue, so if they were really buying tickets for "The Story of the Lantern," why would a yellow poster appear?
Which movie poster was yellow again...?
Fast-talking Lao Liu glanced down at his phone. Next to the words "Happiness Street, please come inside!" on the ticket retrieval interface, there was a warm yellow poster with Ye Chu showing off her white teeth on it.
Fast-talking Lao Liu's heart skipped a beat, and his vision blurred. He hoped the cinema had enough screens so he wouldn't be assigned to the same one as this family!
