Chapter 530 Reflections and Experiments (1/2)

"The Writers Guild?"

The massage chair spun around, and Ji Juntao turned around, looking at Shang Yechu with disbelief: "Ancestor, what's wrong with you now?"

That awful relationship had finally come to an end, and Ji Juntao thought Shang Yechu could finally focus on making money for her in peace. But less than two days later, this whole mess happened. There's never a day of peace.

Shang Yechu plopped down on Ji Juntao's desk and shoved a stack of manuscripts in front of him: "Don't pour cold water on me yet, take a look first."

Ji Juntao frowned and picked up the top sheet of paper: "Is there anything on this paper that humans can understand?"

"You're really impatient," Shang Yechu muttered, snatching the paper back and straightening it. "My handwriting is clearly..." She trailed off, not finishing her sentence.

Shang Yechu worked through the night, drawing on paper that looked like scribbles. The characters were stacked together, resembling an encrypted script. Even in broad daylight, she herself couldn't understand it.

Ji Juntao smiled as he looked at her fiddling with the pile of tattered papers, then suddenly remembered something: "I haven't told you the good news yet."

"What good news?"

"Two pieces of good news, which one would you like to hear first?"

"Listen to the one that's less important first."

Ji Juntao smiled mysteriously: "Didn't you say before that the Shang family had occupied Sheng Wenzhi's house? You asked me to deal with it."

"This matter..." Shang Yechu paused, "...did they drive them away?"

“No.” Ji Juntao leaned forward, laughing gleefully. “Sheng Wenzhi, that madman, sold the house.”

"..." Shang Yechu was already used to this person's many shocking acts, but she was still stunned for the umpteenth time. "Who did you sell it to?" It hasn't been many days since that celebration banquet. How did it sell so quickly?

"Sold at a bargain price, what a steal!" Ji Juntao clicked his tongue. "Doesn't Ji Ya often invite people to Shengwen House to dance in the square? There are quite a few wealthy old men and women in the square dancing crowd. After a while, he sold the house to one of them. A large family of four generations living together, they are now packing up and moving in."

"...How cheap is it?"

"A number that makes you think he's out of his mind." Ji Juntao shook his head. "That family used to be very close to Ji Ya when they were dancing in the square, calling her 'sister' and 'sworn sisters.' But after buying the house, they turned their backs on her and kicked the business owners out with brooms."

Shang Yechu really wanted to laugh, but then felt there was nothing funny about it: "If I were Shang Hongxuan, I would go find Sheng Wenzhi and rekindle our past relationship."

Ji Juntao waved his hand and said, "Sheng Wenzhi doesn't even have a house to live in now, what's the point of looking for him? You can't just starve like this. The Shang family has an old house in Wencheng. They stayed in Hengshi for a few days and then slunk back home."

Shang Yechu sneered, "Shanda's writers love to give alms. I thought he would give the money from selling the house to the Shang family."

"Even if he dared to give it away, that money would end up in my pocket anyway," Ji Juntao scoffed. "By the way, do you know why he sold the house?"

"What do I need to know this for?"

Ji Juntao chuckled and said, "President Kang told me that Sheng Wenzhi used his royalties and savings to set up some kind of fund for Xingfu Commercial Street. People from Taikang Group asked him why he would set up such a thing on the street for no reason. Do you know what he said?"

Shang Yechu fell silent and did not respond.

Ji Juntao laughed loudly: "This madman, he actually said something like 'Although she is right, I am not necessarily wrong, practice is the only standard to test my path,' hahahahahahaha!"

Shang Yechu paused for a moment, then changed the subject, saying, "And what's the other good news?"

“I almost forgot,” Ji Juntao said, taking a sip of coffee after laughing enough, “the key for ‘Happy Street’ is being extended.”

"Hmm?" Shang Yechu looked up. "You've already made a decision?"
