Chapter 55 Oiran (1/2)

The Heavenly Secrets Building, the underground interrogation room.

The courtesan, dressed in a moon-white silk nightgown and draped in a magnolia-colored outer robe, sat quietly on a cold iron chair.

Even at night, the interrogation room was brightly lit. The courtesan's beautiful face was expressionless, except for her pair of watery eyes that darted around restlessly.

Suddenly, the candlelight in front of her flickered.

A pair of handsome young men walked in. Both were wearing narrow-sleeved purple shirts; the one on the left was taller, and the one on the right was shorter and thinner.

The courtesan's gaze swept between the two men before finally settling on the thin young man's face, a smile of interest playing on her lips.

The courtesan's smile was different from that of a respectable woman; it was extremely gentle and beautiful, every curve of which carried a seductive meaning. If it were one of her regular customers, they would probably be completely captivated the moment they stepped inside.

Unfortunately, this flirtatious glance was destined to be seen by the blind.

The two young men remained unmoved by the courtesan's smile. The thin young man pulled up a chair and sat down in front of her. The taller one simply stood behind him.

The tall, imposing young man's figure enveloped both of them, exuding a chilling sense of oppression.

"Mianmian." The thin young man gently tapped the table. "Is that your name?"

"Before asking the young lady's name, shouldn't you first state your own name?" The courtesan extended a jade-like hand, gently stroking the thin young man's hand and softly pressing down on his hand.

The thin young man calmly withdrew his hand: "My name is Di Wu, and his name is Di San."

"Fifth? Third?" The courtesan covered her lips and chuckled twice. "I think you could even be number one in my eyes."

Di San impatiently interrupted, "What were you doing on the night of August 5th?"

"What do you want to do?" The courtesan's eyes darted around, casting a meaningful glance at Di San. "I'm a prostitute. What do you think I should do tonight?"

"Stop with the tricks!" Di San flicked his wrist, and the Kunwu Blade at his waist was drawn two inches from its sheath, a bright light shining on the courtesan's face!

“Third Earth,” Fifth Earth said coldly.

Di San looked displeased, but still snorted and sheathed his sword.

The scene fell silent for a moment.

The three courtesans, Di San and Di Wu, remained locked in a stalemate in the bright candlelight.

Five, four, three, two, one.

Shang Yechu counted to five in her mind, but the lines that were supposed to come never came.

Shang Yechu frowned inwardly. Next, it would be the fifth person—Xiao Fengque—who would try to extract information from the courtesan using a roundabout tactic.

The third and fifth seats are Xie An and Xiao Fengque's seating arrangements in the Tianji Tower, respectively, and are based on the time they entered the tower.

Why isn't Yang Huanyi saying anything? If he can't get to his line within ten seconds, the director will yell "cut."

Shang Yechu's heart stirred slightly—"Tianji Tower" is considered a fairly faithful adaptation of the original wuxia novel, and this section is also largely consistent with the source material. In this part of the plot, Xiao Fengque has the most dialogue scenes. Yang Huanyi only read the script for about ten minutes; could he really memorize all the lines in that time?

Could she have forgotten her lines?

Shang Yechu looked at Yang Huanyi's face. The other party remained calm and composed, still with that icy expression. There was even a hint of impatience in his eyes.

Shang Yechu was certain that Yang Huanyi had genuinely forgotten his lines—and he wasn't planning to call "cut" himself, but rather to just keep acting like this!

The courtesan glanced lightly at the knife at Xie An's waist, then suddenly and slowly stood up.

Her movements were light and graceful; the way she stood up didn't seem like she was standing, but rather like she was floating.

The courtesan floated to Xie An's side, and her slender hand gently caressed the Kunwu sword at Xie An's waist.

She was so close that Xie An could even feel the cool temperature emanating from her.

Xie An made no attempt to hide his reaction, taking a step back while instinctively drawing his sword and shouting, "Are you out of your mind?"

The courtesan placed one hand on her slender neck and smiled sweetly, "You want to cut off my neck? If it's your blade, I'd be willing to lie beneath it."

After saying that, she leaned against Xie An in a soft, boneless manner.

Seeing that cold body floating towards him, Xie An instinctively used the hilt of his knife to block her three feet away!

"Ouch!" the courtesan cried out delicately, "You really don't know how to cherish a beautiful woman."

Xie Anzheng sheathed his sword with a clang and said coldly, "So, where did you go tonight? What did you do?"

Shang Yechu's eyes narrowed suddenly.

These are Yang Huanyi's lines!

Clearly, Li Yi had also noticed that Yang Huanyi had forgotten her lines. Therefore, she spoke the question to Mianmian for Yang Huanyi.

But how could Li Yi, who couldn't even remember his own lines, possibly recite Yang Huanyi's lines?

The shock and confusion lasted only a moment. Shang Yechu's squinting gesture lasted for less than half a second before naturally turning into a charming laugh.
