Chapter 571 The Award Ceremony (2/2)

Even the few fans who cheered for Shang Yechu at the time were hired by Qingping Entertainment to support her. In reality, there were hardly any fans who actually went to support Yechu.

Times have changed. Ye Chu, who was silently murdered by the media back then, can now cause a near-tsunami of commotion simply by standing here.

Shang Yechu suddenly missed Qi Ming and Gu Wenhua. They were her comrades-in-arms who accompanied her on her first red carpet walk, and because of that, it was hard for Shang Yechu not to think of them every time she stood on a red carpet in her life afterward.

Now she has Xu Hanwen by her side and the crew of "Tianban" behind her, but that's different. They are just collaborators, not comrades-in-arms. Friends made after achieving fame and fortune are ultimately different from friends she met when she was humble, when she struggled together in the mud, when she suffered cold treatment and hardship together.

The image of Qi Ming waving to the deserted red carpet is still vivid in my mind. If she could walk on such a red carpet one day, would she be happier?

A smile graced her face, but her mind was racing. She wondered what Qi Ming and Gu Wenhua were doing now. And what about the braised pork belly with sauerkraut—Jian Xiaojun was probably furious at home right now…

"The Mute Woman," "The Mute Woman," their "The Mute Woman"...

There's an awkward situation here. Since both "Tianban" and "Yunqingji" were nominated for the Xinghan Awards, both production teams needed to walk the red carpet. This created a conflict: Shang Yechu and Zheng Bohan couldn't possibly walk the red carpet with both production teams at the same time.

Arranging for the same person to walk the red carpet twice is unrealistic; it would result in situations where "Ye Chu runs over here and Ye Chu runs over there," which would be maddening.

Shang Yechu is the lead actress in "Tianban" and there's no way she'd leave the production. Zheng Bohan is even more conflicted. "Yunqingji" was the work that saved him from his slump, and it was also his directorial debut; but "Tianban" is his proudest work, and Li Yiming is his apple of his eye, his heart and soul—both are equally precious to him!

After much agonizing deliberation, Zheng Bohan ultimately chose the "Yun Qing Ji" production team. It wasn't that "Yun Qing Ji" was more important to him, but rather that Su Ge was unable to attend the awards ceremony due to the scandal involving her illegitimate daughter, and Shang Yechu had joined the "Tian Ban" production team. Only Qin Tianye, the lead actor, remained to hold things together. If director Zheng Bohan were also absent, "Yun Qing Ji" would be in a truly pitiful state.

This sweet dilemma is something only prolific and high-quality creators like Zheng Bohan can experience. If his group of veteran screenwriter friends heard this, they'd probably point fingers and accuse him of being pretentious.

Xu Hanwen was in the same situation. The crew of "Qingyun Biography" was also eagerly anticipating his arrival and company. However, Director Xu wasn't as conflicted as screenwriter Zheng; he didn't hesitate for a second and resolutely chose "Tianban." His attitude was so firm that it was as if "Qingyun Biography" were an unwanted child.

Despite the screams and pleas from the media and fans, Shang Yechu didn't linger on the red carpet. Only washed-up celebrities need to stay on the red carpet; for top stars, every minute is precious.

"It's finally over." After the crew walked out of the red carpet area, Xue Haodong wiped his sweat. "Hey, Xiao Ye, don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming you, it's just too hot and too tiring!"

"I know, Teacher Xue," Shang Yechu said with a smile. "Shall we slow down and wait for Teacher Zheng and the others?"

"This..." Xue Haodong glanced at Xu Hanwen with his glasses. Back when *Yun Qing Ji* was competing with *Qing Yun Zhuan*, it completely humiliated Xu Hanwen. Now, it seems a bit inappropriate for Xu Hanwen to run into the *Yun Qing Ji* crew...

Shang Yechu knew what Xue Haodong was thinking just by looking at his expression, and almost burst out laughing. She wasn't surprised at all that Xue Haodong, who played Lu Huaizhang, was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. No one in the world was more suitable for the role of Director Lu than him.

“Hmm.” Xu Hanwen nodded to Xue Haodong. “Old Qin and I are old friends. There were only three people from the ‘Yun Qing Ji’ crew. It was rather deserted. It’s not a big deal for our two crews to be together.”

Shang Yechu smiled and agreed with the two of them while looking expectantly toward the door.

Her sudden call to stop wasn't entirely because she was waiting for Zheng Bohan.

If there's any surprise at this year's Pre-made Food Star Awards ceremony, this is definitely one of them.

Li Kui has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress!
