Chapter 586 00:1 "Sister Ye, Zhuang Sheng is carrying gifts and apologizing to each of the staff members whose time he wasted today."
“I understand,” Shang Yechu turned a page of the script. “Will he apologize himself, or will his agent apologize on his behalf?”
"He apologized, and his agent helped carry the gifts." The assistant, sitting opposite Shang Yechu, covered her mouth and laughed, "Sister, why are you doing this? This kind of thing happens all the time. Don't let him hold a grudge against you."
"If he holds a grudge against me for this, that's all he'll ever be; if I end up in a situation where even he can bring me down, that's all I'll ever be."
The assistant thought about it and nodded, saying, "However, this will delay the afternoon's filming."
“Xiao Zhou told me that Zhuang Sheng isn’t in good shape, and even if we force him to film, it won’t be much better. We might as well let him rest for a couple of days.” Shang Yechu shook her head. “Look at how unwilling he is. Is it okay for him to act crazy and domineering towards the whole crew, but asking him to apologize is like asking for the death of him?”
Shang Yechu herself often had a sense of superiority, but she felt that her intelligence, emotional intelligence, acting skills and moral bottom line were higher than those colorful creatures in the entertainment industry. She looked down on them in terms of ability and morality, rather than feeling that her status or class was higher than theirs.
When it came to Zhuang Sheng, good heavens, his acting was terrible, but he certainly put on airs. It was as if everyone in the crew was born to be treated like dirt, deserving to be exposed to the sun for him.
The assistant was about to speak, but seeing Shang Yechu writing and drawing on the script, she stopped talking. Shang Yechu smiled and said, "Go eat, don't worry about me."
The assistant was overjoyed and quickly slipped away.
With lines of colored markers drawn on the lead type, Shang Yechu studied his role, memorizing and thoroughly understanding each small segment. He closed his eyes and mentally rehearsed his performance style.
Having not acted in a comedy for a long time, Shang Yechu sadly discovered that he was actually itching to perform again.
In her previous life, Shang Yechu's comedic effect largely stemmed from her appearance. Now that her appearance has lost its comedic advantage, Shang Yechu is eager to see how she performs in a sitcom.
People can be despicable sometimes.
Although she made a cameo appearance as herself in "The Happiness Street Chronicles," the creation of a sitcom can never be exactly the same as reality. Jian Xiaojun stretched the timeline of the script very tightly, and the character of Ye Chu in the script was also very different from her own personality.
Ye Chu in "The Legend of Happiness Street" is more like a workaholic extra, constantly running between different film sets. She doesn't care whether the role is suitable for her; she'll take any role as long as it's available, which leads to many hilarious mishaps.
As she was pondering this, a shadow suddenly fell upon her. Shang Yechu looked up and saw that Zhuang Sheng had slipped in at some point and was standing in front of her, his face pale.
"Has Teacher Zhuang finished apologizing?" Shang Yechu scrutinized his expression. He looked quite pitiful, and if it weren't for the fact that he'd drunk himself into a stupor with Ji Juntao, Shang Yechu would have kicked him.
"Um."
"I understand. Try to get into a good state of mind these next couple of days." Shang Yechu lowered her head again and continued reading the script.
Zhuang Sheng didn't move and remained standing in front of her. Shang Yechu frowned and said tactfully, "You're blocking the light."
"Why?"
"Why what?" Shang Yechu asked, bewildered.
Zhuang Sheng reached out and pressed down on the script in Shang Yechu's hand: "Why are you targeting me?"
"..." Shang Yechu looked at him in disbelief, even forgetting to tell him to take his paws away.
“No,” Shang Yechu chuckled, “Alright, then tell me, why would I target you?”
Zhuang Sheng lowered her eyes: "I know even if you don't say it. You're afraid I'll affect your position, aren't you?"
"Hmm..." Shang Yechu placed the script on the table. "Explain in detail."
Zhuang Sheng continued, "In terms of age, I'm only three years younger than you. We're from the same generation, so our work will definitely overlap."
That statement makes sense. I thought Zhuang Sheng would come up with some bizarre reason, but it turns out it makes some sense.
Zhuang Sheng continued, "In terms of looks, you are the most beautiful female artist of this generation, and I am the most beautiful male artist of this generation. We both have a better future."
Shang Yechu almost thought Zhuang Sheng was flattering her, but when she looked up, she saw that his expression was very serious, without any hint of fawning, and quite natural.
Shang Yechu felt a flock of crows fly past overhead, cawing loudly.
