"Then I'll have it freshly baked too." Li Yi took out her phone and started scanning the QR code to order. "Do you come to this restaurant often? What are some good drinks here?"
"This is my first time here too." Shang Yechu forked a piece of bread. "But if you're asking about drinks..."
"Shang Yechu!"
A voice sounded behind Li Yi. He turned around in surprise and saw a tall figure walking towards the table where he and Shang Yechu were.
Li Yi didn't recognize the person. He frowned slightly and looked at Shang Yechu, "Your friend?"
Shang Yechu nodded, put down her knife and fork, stood up and said, "Let me introduce you. This is my friend from school, her name is Sheng Wenzhi. Sheng Wenzhi, this is Li Yi, my friend from the film crew."
Sheng Wenzhi's expression stiffened slightly, then she gave a standard social smile and extended her hand to Li Yi: "Nice to meet you."
Li Yi also stood up, symbolically touched hands with the other person, and then quickly withdrew his hand.
"Please sit down," Shang Ye said, seeing that the two had already exchanged greetings.
Before sitting down, Shang Yechu glanced at Sheng Wenzhi's outfit with a hint of appreciation.
Sheng Wenzhi was dressed very fashionably today, wearing a soft black turtleneck sweater, pleated wide-leg pants, and a long camel-colored men's trench coat. She exuded an indescribable intellectual and capable aura; although her outfit was androgynous, it also possessed a restrained femininity.
Sheng Wenzhi and Li Yi were both dressed very well today. Ye Chu, the country bumpkin merchant, sat between them, and for the first time began to doubt his own taste.
Perhaps she should learn from Sheng Wenzhi in the future to improve her fashion sense. Shang Yechu thought to herself. She didn't have money now, so her dressing style could only wait. When she had money in the future, she couldn't let people laugh at her for her unfashionable style.
After the three sat down, Sheng Wenzhi gave Li Yi a critical look, then turned to Shang Yechu and said, "You asked me which dessert shop is good, and you said you wanted to introduce me to your new friend—is it him?"
The disdain in those words was so obvious that Shang Yechu's fork slipped and made a screeching sound as it scraped across the plate.
Sheng Wenzhi's emotional intelligence, both then and now, remains as suffocating as ever. She seems determined to offend people with every word she speaks.
Shang Yechu paused for a moment, then naturally changed the subject: "Yes. Does this shop have any good drinks? I'm thirsty."
As she spoke, Shang Yechu pushed her phone's order page to Sheng Wenzhi: "Help me choose something."
Sheng Wenzhi choked for a moment, then stopped talking and lowered her head to choose a drink.
Li Yi coldly observed the interaction between the two, and after Shang Yechu looked over, she immediately revealed a bright smile: "You two have such a good relationship."
"..." She and Sheng Wenzhi have a good relationship? Shang Yechu felt like throwing up just listening to that.
She called Sheng Wenzhi out mainly to avoid an awkward situation. Li Yi was about the same age as her and they had worked together in the same movie; Shang Yechu was afraid of creating any ambiguous misunderstandings.
Shang Yechu believes that it's best for actors working together on the same project to maintain a purely platonic friendship.
Therefore, it was necessary to invite a "sister". Although she and Sheng Wenzhi were not really sisters, the ceremony was complete enough.
Sheng Wenzhi snorted coldly, clearly disagreeing with Li Yi's words.
Shang Yechu, shamelessly, said, "It's alright, after all, she's my niece—"
"I've made my choice." Sheng Wenzhi interrupted Shang Yechu curtly. "Which one do you like?"
Shang Yechu glanced at the items Sheng Wenzhi had ordered, all of which were high-sugar, high-calorie drinks, and couldn't help but ask in surprise, "Is this shop good at making desserts? Why did you order all 'extra sweet' flavors?"
Shang Yechu naturally liked this, but could Li Yi drink this flavor?
“It’s based on your taste.” Sheng Wenzhi naturally took Shang Yechu’s plate and started cutting bread for her. “You’ve liked sweets since junior high school.”
"Alright." Li Yi was invited by Shang Yechu, so she couldn't just ignore her. Shang Yechu had no choice but to push her phone towards Li Yi. "Take a look at these. Is there anything you like?"
Sheng Wenzhi frowned.
