Chapter 590 Unexpected Visitor

Chapter 590 Unexpected Visitor "Nina, why is everyone looking at me so strangely?"

Nina Meyer shook her head vigorously: "I don't know."

Shang Yechu was having dinner. The "Heavenly Emperor" production crew had a canteen, and the food was quite good. In the early stages of filming, the crew was large, and the canteen was crowded, so many people had to eat boxed lunches to save time. Now that filming was in its later stages, things were finally much more relaxed.

As soon as the plane landed and she sat down in the cafeteria, Shang Yechu felt something was off. The cast and crew members passing by seemed to be secretly watching her, as if there was something on her face.

Shao Guangji was also puzzled. Shang Yechu originally wanted to go straight back to the hotel, but after thinking about it, she decided to come to the film set to check on the situation and report to Shao Guangji. As a result, Director Shao stared at her face, hesitant to speak, seemingly wanting to ask something, but ultimately didn't say anything.

Everyone else remained tight-lipped, so Shang Yechu had no choice but to try and get information from Nina.

"What happened while I was gone for two days?" Shang Yechu asked patiently.

“It seems someone came looking for you,” Nina said in English, leaning on her spoon and thinking for a moment. “They wanted to move into the apartment across from yours. Shao disagreed, but they moved in anyway.”

A single sentence encapsulates a midnight horror story spanning 100,000 words.

"Who is it? Male or female? How old? When?" Shang Yechu pressed.

"It was this afternoon. I don't know anything else. Shao forbade me from going to your room, I only heard it from Zhao Qian." Nina shrugged. Her shoulders were very rounded, radiating an ivory-like luster, and swayed like two lamps. Shang Yechu couldn't help but take a few more glances.

Shang Yechu found it utterly unbelievable. Her neighbors across the hall were two bodyguards responsible for her safety. Who could possibly replace them?

Shang Yechu had originally left a few assistants to keep watch in Yinzhou, but the uninvited guest arrived this afternoon. In the afternoon, the assistants who were keeping watch went to the airport to pick her up, leaving them completely confused.

Completely baffled, Shang Yechu finished the enigmatic meal and tiptoed back to the hotel.

Standing in front of the room door, there was nothing unusual about the opposite door.

Since the other party came specifically for her, they should take the initiative to find her. But this hotel has excellent soundproofing... Shang Yechu took out her phone, turned the volume up to the maximum, and randomly set an alarm.

The deafening cawing of crows echoed through the corridor. Shang Yechu played the crow twice and then quickly turned it off to avoid being beaten up by someone who came knocking on his door.

There was no sound from the opposite door. Shang Yechu pretended to open her door while glancing at the opposite door out of the corner of her eye, countless possibilities flashing through her mind: a powerful, obsessive fan; a spy from a competing production crew; a nepotism planted by investors; Yang Huanyi's husband had broken in…

With a beep, the door opened. Shang Yechu reluctantly put away the room key and walked into the room—

"Ye Chu!"

A sharp female voice rang out, and a familiar figure pounced on Shang Yechu!

Shang Yechu had no time to dodge and took the full force of the attack, crashing into the door with a loud bang.

The visitor was, no, it should be said, Su Ge.

A sharp, agonizing pain shot through Shang Yechu's back. Despite the pain, she used both hands to scoop Su Ge up by her armpits and move her aside.

"hiss."

Shang Yechu rubbed her shoulders, staring dumbfounded at the person in front of her: Su Ge had gained a lot of weight, her cheeks were chubby. She was wearing a silk robe, her hair was still wet, she must have just taken a shower. Her cheeks were rosy, there was not a trace of her having been under house arrest.

"Oh! Are you alright?" Su Ge quickly came over and rubbed Shang Yechu's shoulders.

The commotion affected the neighbors; several doors nearby opened, and curious heads peeked out—they were all actors from the film crew.

Shang Yechu was startled and pulled Su Ge into the room, closing the door behind her.

Two minutes later.

Shang Yechu leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, and said with a forced smile, "Su Ge, you should give me an explanation."

Su Ge waved her hand and said, "Oops, I used too much force just now..."

“That’s not what I’m asking,” Shang Yechu stared intently at her. “How did you find this place? And why did you move across the street from me?”

Su Ge rolled her eyes guiltily: "Everyone knows you're filming in Yinzhou. Just ask around and you'll find it. Moving across from you is just to get closer to you, isn't it?"

Shang Yechu scrutinized her closely, and after a long while, she seemed to realize something: "Did Qin Tianye bring you out?"

"Uh," Su Ge rolled her eyes awkwardly again, "I guess so."

"Sort of?" Shang Yechu narrowed her eyes: "What exactly happened?"

Su Ge chuckled dryly, "It's getting late, Ye Chu. Let's talk about it in detail tomorrow..." With that, she got up and tried to run away.

The more she acted this way, the stronger Shang Yechu's premonition became. Seeing Su Ge about to run away, Shang Yechu grabbed her by the back of her collar and sneered, "Miss Su—Ms. Amano Song, are you going to talk or not?"

Su Ge froze for a second, then screamed the instant she realized what Shang Yechu had said: "Ah! You know? When did you find out?"

"Tell me the whole story, and I'll tell you this secret." Shang Yechu covered Su Ge's mouth and pressed her down onto the sofa. "Keep your voice down, my dear!"

Shang Yechu was so angry that her mouth was dry. She poured herself and Su Ge two cups of tea, and drank them down in one gulp before calmly saying, "Are you going to tell me or not? I can guess even if you don't."

Su Ge twisted her fingers, looking uneasily at the teacup in front of her.

Shang Yechu pointed to the wall clock: "I have to get up at five o'clock tomorrow. You have nine hours left."

Su Ge hesitated for a moment. Seeing her hesitant expression, Shang Yechu knew this conversation would likely drag on, so she picked up her teacup and poured herself a glass of water.

"I proposed to Teacher Qin twice."

Thump!

What was that sound?

Shang Yechu rolled her eyes blankly.

Oh, it turns out the kettle fell on the ground.

Whoosh!

The kettle is cracked.

Shang Yechu was also about to crack.
