Chapter 594 Leveraging (2/2)

Qin Tianye had completely lost faith in Su Ge, and sending people to mediate would be pointless. The real reason CEO Mai parachuted his daughter into Shang Yechu's life wasn't for any romantic relationship! His true objective was to unite with Qingping Entertainment to jointly resist the infighting of the other two major groups.

However, the relationship between Meta Pictures and Qingping Entertainment isn't exactly harmonious, and directly seeking cooperation risks being rebuffed. Directly trying to win over the Fourth Sister would be too much for the Third Brother to bear; sending a vanguard to test the waters is a good idea.

These old crocodiles are all incredibly shrewd. Shang Yechu has heard of ping-pong diplomacy, baseball diplomacy, and basketball diplomacy, but this is the first time he's encountered such a shrewd diplomacy.

The rascal Su Ge, completely unaware that she was being used by her father, was still sobbing, "Ye Chu, if our two families unite, won't we be one family? Will you be able to help me find Teacher Qin? He admires you so much, praising your acting skills every day, he'll definitely listen to what you say..."

But cooperation? How? Metafilm and Qingping Entertainment's business scopes basically overlap; they're competitors from every angle. Of course, car sellers and car seat cover sellers can be best friends, but you've never seen a pants seller and a skirt seller act like family!

"If you don't want to, I have a few scripts for idol dramas I can give you. Hiccup, you should make some idol dramas too. Even the worst idol dramas attract more fans than serious dramas..."

Given Metafilm's size, it will undoubtedly hold the dominant position in the collaboration. If Metafilm simply wants a white knight to protect it, it's best to keep this deal far away.

"Why aren't you saying anything?" Su Ge asked, blowing her nose. "Are you completely blaming me now?"

Shang Yechu's mind raced, her thoughts racing. Of course, she needed to inform Ji Juntao, and as soon as possible. Ji Juntao was far more astute in business than she was; she should focus on her acting and leave this to her boss—good heavens, why was Su Ge still crying here? Wasn't she tired?!

"Good girl," Shang Yechu patted Su Ge's head perfunctorily, "Good girl, ah, the thing that grows on the upper part of your neck is called your brain, and the thing that grows on the lower part of your legs is called your feet. Now turn your brain to the right, see? The door is over there. Step out with your feet—"

Su Ge threw the tissue she had used to blow her nose on the ground and said pitifully, "Aren't you going to care about me anymore?"

"Whether you care or not depends on your performance," Shang Yechu said forcefully, helping Su Ge to her feet. "Go to sleep first, okay? Yes, yes, that's it. I have scenes to film tomorrow, so I need to sleep now. We'll talk about this after I finish filming."

Su Ge's bright red eyes lit up: "Can I go to the film set with you? The director who stopped me today was quite handsome, I want to take a closer look." Shao Guangji was handsome and elegant, two years younger than Qin Tianye, and very polite, perfectly matching Su Ge's aesthetic preferences. Most importantly, Shao Guangji was a director, so there would be no professional conflict with Qin Tianye, and taking a few more glances at him wouldn't be considered cheating.

Su Ge's reputation isn't great right now. If he were to appear on set and rumors spread like "Su Ge is starring in 'The Heavenly Emperor'," it could deter a large number of viewers.

Shang Yechu smiled and said, "If I see you anywhere on set tomorrow, I won't see you anywhere else in the world the day after." Shao Guangji really should thank her. If Su Ge manages to get Qin Tianye and then wants Shao Guangji as her second wife, that story would be incredibly interesting.

Su Ge shrank back, but persisted, "Then how am I supposed to find you? What if you don't go back to the hotel?"

Shang Yechu pushed her towards the door: "There's something in this world called a cell phone. Since you know Lin Hui won't be fired, don't play that childish trick of confiscating her phone. I'm really sleepy, yawn—yawn. You don't want me to die before I can help you mediate, do you? So let's leave here."

Su Ge was reluctantly pushed out the door by Shang Yechu, who instructed her, "Keep your voice down tonight, don't wail or jump around. Although this hotel is fairly soundproof, people downstairs can still hear what's going on upstairs. A lot of actors have to get up early tomorrow. If you really want to cry, just bury yourself in the covers."

Su Ge left, sobbing.

Shang Yechu gently closed the door, leaned against it, and pondered the olive branch offered by Meta Pictures.

She picked up her phone, instinctively wanting to contact Ji Juntao. Suddenly, an idea flashed into her mind.

Shang Yechu walked quickly to the table, where her notebook was still lying open. She turned to a new page and picked up a pen.

The notebook was almost empty; the pen tip touched the thin paper, writing with a crisp, hard feel. Shang Yechu's eyes snapped open, quickly transferring a fleeting inspiration onto the paper:

"Who are our friends, and who are our enemies?"
