Chapter 638 Debate (1/2)

Chapter 638 Debates: Westerners Age So Quickly

This was the first exclamation that Shang Yechu felt.

Why aren't you updating your social media profiles with photos? Photos from five years ago look completely different now!

This was Shang Yechu's second complaint.

Why is it winter now instead of summer? If it were summer, we could legitimately open the windows.

This was the strongest thought in Shang Yechu's mind after sitting in the conference room.

This group of people were indeed the main creators from the Russian side, and they unexpectedly met Shang Yechu. Today's script reading session will be filmed and recorded by reporters from two official media outlets, so both sides wanted to arrive early to network beforehand.

Director Lev extended his hand to Shang Yechu and said in broken Chinese, "Hello."

Shang Yechu raised an eyebrow and shook hands in return, saying, "You speak Chinese?"

Director Lev: "I know a few phrases, I learned them specifically."

When Shang Ye heard Colonel Da's Chinese, she almost laughed, but then she remembered that her Russian probably sounded the same to him, so she couldn't laugh anymore.

"Let's leave professional matters to the professionals," Shang Yechu said with a smile, turning to the translator and saying, "Teacher Qian, I'm counting on you."

With translators from both sides in place, communication became much smoother. The Chinese director and screenwriter haven't arrived yet, but they should be soon.

Shang Ye carefully observed the other party. She could also sense that the other party was carefully observing her, her assistant, and the translators. Both sides harbored considerable wariness and curiosity towards each other.

The director and screenwriters shook hands with Shang Yechu one by one. Several of them had long, somewhat unruly hair on their hands. As they shook hands, Shang Yechu couldn't help but imagine a group of tiny people using miniature combs to smooth and shine this hair like in a hair salon commercial, then proudly holding up a section of hair and saying, "XX shampoo, you deserve it..."

Shang Yechu blinked, banishing the absurd fantasy from her mind. The director and screenwriters had all finished introducing themselves, leaving only the tall, blue-eyed man. His identity was now obvious.

The blue-eyed man had taken off his hat, revealing a buzz cut. After seeing the man's stunning upper face, Shang Yechu was quite curious about the lower half of his face.

The blue-eyed man took off his mask, and everything unfolded in slow motion: a straight nose, a well-defined jawline, beautifully shaped lips—and so on.

Shang Yechu blinked again.

The blue-eyed man was indeed breathtakingly handsome. His features were exquisite, his brows sharply defined, and he was as beautiful as a sculpture from ancient Greece. All the best qualities of his Slavic heritage were on full display in his face. Perhaps his features weren't as perfectly calculated as the other man's; but his melancholic and serene eyes more than made up for it.

However, perhaps to fit Kovalev's character, he sported two slightly upturned mustaches—like those of the famous Soviet benevolent father. Because his face was so young, these mustaches served only a comical decorative purpose, adding little to his majesty.

Shang Yechu's heart, which had been slightly raised, immediately returned to its original state with a thud, becoming as calm as still water once more.

Shang Yechu's aesthetic sense is rather traditional. In her view, men should be clean and have a neat appearance. While it's unrealistic to expect them to be as smooth as a peeled egg, it's strange to have a few clumps of hair sticking out in such an obvious place as the face. Even during the busiest period on set, Shao Guangji still insisted on shaving every day.

He looked like a dollop of cream sprinkled with pepper. Shang Yechu looked away, or rather, like a dumpling with a smear of jam on it.

A man with blue eyes and a beard stepped forward, paused, and extended his hand, saying in Russian, "Hello, Ye. I am Sergei, the actor who plays Kovalev."

Shang Yechu politely offered her hand and shook it: "Hello. I'm Yechu."
