Chapter 67 Aftermath (1/2)

Soon, an encyclopedia entry for the movie "Tianji Tower" popped up. But to Sun Xiaoxiao's disappointment, the entry only contained a few lines of text—a brief plot summary of "Tianji Tower."

The credits only listed a few names: director Yi Tianzhao, screenwriter Jiang Shang Nongchaosheng, lead actor Yang Huanyi, and supporting actors Li Yi, Ge Dafu, and Jiang Erjing. Even the action choreographer, He Yuan, was listed. The only thing missing was the name of the courtesan Sun Xiaoxiao longed for.

This completely piqued Sun Xiaoxiao's curiosity.

Didn't Dad say that was a cameo appearance by a big star? Why isn't there a name?

If the search results had been found immediately, Sun Xiaoxiao might have forgotten about them after seeing them. But the fact that the search results were completely empty only fueled Sun Xiaoxiao's competitive spirit.

Young people are prone to inexplicable obsession with small things. Some will scour the internet just to find a comic book they read as a child; others will offer rewards on various platforms just to find the name of a certain snack they once tasted as a child and found amazing; still others will search high and low on forums and online communities just to find a very old TV series that has been forgotten by the audience.

Perhaps some people see such behavior as an incomprehensible waste of time. But for them, these small things are meaningful.

For Sun Xiaoxiao, her current obsession is to find out who the mysterious courtesan is.

After failing to find any encyclopedia entries, Sun Xiaoxiao stubbornly searched for terms like "guest appearance at Tianji Tower," "big shot at Tianji Tower," and "flower queen playing with phoenixes," trying various combinations of these terms, but still came up empty-handed!

The search results were plentiful, but unfortunately, they were either the most disastrously disastrous TV series in history, which ruined the careers of six big stars in the year 2000, or advertisements for some reading websites, and even some cosplayers' cosplays. The only thing missing was "Mianmian" from this movie.

Sun Xiaoxiao glanced at the TV and saw that the current scene was Xiao Fengque having a scene with a handsome male character. She then lowered her head and continued playing on her phone without interest. "Mom, call me when Mianmian comes on screen."

"Okay." Mom readily agreed, then muttered, "Why does Xie An always have such a long face..."

Zucchini is a long, thin gourd, narrow at the top and thick at the bottom. My mother doesn't surf the internet often and can't offer professional critiques like "expressionless face" or "no acting skills," but her casual similes are equally sharp.

Sun Xiaoxiao glanced at the handsome Xie An, frowned, and said, "Is he the villain? He's making it all too obvious."

“Xie An isn’t a bad person!” Mom retorted, but after looking at Xie An on the screen, she was a little unsure: “Anyway, he’s not like that in the book, so the movie shouldn’t change things up, right?”

“Xie An is quite handsome,” Dad interjected. “None of the men and women in this movie are ugly.”

Sun Xiaoxiao lowered her head and continued searching for information about the courtesan. What good is being handsome if your acting is so terrible it ruins your good looks? You practically have the wickedness written all over your face.

Undeterred, Sun Xiaoxiao continued searching for the keywords "Phoenix Plays with Dragon" and "Tianji Tower" on CTS Channel 6 in her browser. She hadn't held out much hope, but to her surprise, this time, a result from five minutes ago popped up in the search results!

Sun Xiaoxiao perked up and eagerly clicked on the search result!

After clicking in, Sun Xiaoxiao finally saw the full picture of the result.

It turns out to be a post from Baidu Tieba.

Sun Xiaoxiao doesn't usually use Baidu Tieba, but she does have a Tieba account and the app. Following her principle of not missing any possible information, she clicked on this post.

In 2017, Baidu Tieba had not completely declined, and its monthly active users were still over 40 million. Although it was not as prosperous as it had been in its heyday, it was still quite lively in January.

"The Phoenix Plays with the Dragon"? My grandparents love watching it.

How old is the person upstairs?

[I saw this, the production crew was so poor! The scene of the burning of the Ten Mile Cloud Pavilion only involved burning down a small, dilapidated building?]

[Take a piss upstairs and look at yourself in the mirror]

[My pee is yellow, so I'll go first. I'll catch you on the 5th floor!]

[I read "Phoenix Plays with Dragon" when I was in college. I absolutely loved Phoenix Girl, but then the author suddenly had her date a guy surnamed Xie, so I dropped it.]

[I agree with the comment above. What man wants to see his wife with another man! Let whoever wants to be a cuckold be it! [speechless]]

[Xiao Fengque was best portrayed by Xi Caichun in the 1990 version.]

[The Heavenly Jade Pavilion, overlooking the Nine Provinces from the clouds.]

If you ask a visitor to Chang'an, "Which family is the wealthiest in Chang'an?" they might give different answers; but if you ask, "Which building is the most magnificent in Chang'an?" they will all answer in unison, "It is the Tianji Tower."

Beyond the boundless clouds, across the vast land of China, dwell immortals. Their abode is the Heavenly Mystery Pavilion!

Look at how it's written in the original novel, and then look at this thing! You're telling me this three-story villa is the Heavenly Secrets Pavilion?
