Chapter 176 The Dispersing White Mist
The two teams rested at the outpost for a whole day.
It was noon.
Yun Zhao slowly got out of bed.
The conditions at the sentry post were harsh; there was no heating or air conditioning inside, and the temperature was not much higher than outside.
As soon as Yun Zhao got out of bed, he felt cold and quickly put on his general's coat.
After a day of rest, her spirits did not improve; instead, she felt even more exhausted.
My body feels weak and I can't muster any strength.
I initially thought my lack of energy was due to altitude sickness.
But after a good day of rest, I felt increasingly listless.
Yun Zhao entered the ensuite bathroom in the room and stood in front of the mirror, carefully examining himself.
In the mirror, her beautiful face was as pale as paper, her soft hair fell casually over her shoulders, slightly disheveled, and her moist almond eyes carried an indescribable weariness.
Yun Zhao tried to cheer himself up and blinked, and his reflection in the mirror did the same.
She asked the little bluebird in confusion, "Is my current state related to the dissipating white mist?"
The little bluebird slowly condensed, nestled against the main body's shoulder and neck, tilting its head to stare at itself and its original form in the mirror.
[I don't know, are you feeling unwell?]
"Um."
Looking in the mirror, Yun Zhao suddenly raised his hand and poked his cheek. "Have I gained weight?"
My face wasn't this chubby before.
The little guy shook the feathers off his body.
There's still time to worry about whether you've gained weight; it's probably nothing serious.
Yun Zhao then asked the little guy, "What about you? Can you feel anything?"
The little bluebird proudly raised its head, [Why would I feel sad?]
Yun Zhao: "To be honest."
[A little.]
That must be a problem in the spiritual realm.
She went in and checked last night.
The white mist dissipated slightly, revealing the area within the spiritual realm that was indeed the amusement park.
It looks exactly like the amusement park I saw in the contaminated area.
There was no good food in the food street.
Yun Zhao also didn't understand why there was an amusement park in his mental realm.
Is it related to my childhood self?
After thinking for a long time, she felt that her current state was somewhat like a mental overload caused by a sudden expansion of her mental realm.
To put it simply, it's the effects of mental overload that have left her in a temporarily weakened state.
The mental overload of the sentry can be relieved by the guide.
What about the guide?
Can you manage your own emotions?
Yun Zhao slightly raised her hand in front of the mirror, and instantly countless tiny points of fluorescent light surrounded her.
She tried to use the spiritual threads to enter the spiritual realm.
However, I felt nothing.
This is her power.
After confirming that it was useless, Yun Zhao withdrew his spiritual threads and said weakly, "Let's see again in a few days."
She could feel that her strength seemed to have increased.
If you get through the weakest few days and make sure you get enough rest, you may recover quickly.
Just then, there was a knock on the door.
"Sister Yunzhao, are you up?" It was Rabbit's voice.
The two shared a room last night. Rabbit woke up early and saw that she was sleeping soundly, so she didn't disturb her when she went out.
Yun Zhao replied softly, "Get up."
The rabbit then entered the house, carrying a tray with covered food: thick white porridge, several side dishes, and braised beef brisket.
"The captain cooked porridge this morning, but didn't wake you up since you hadn't woken up yet."
While talking to the bathroom, the rabbit placed the food on the small round table in the room, saying, "Sister Yunzhao, come and eat quickly, or it will get cold soon."
Yun Zhao tried to cheer himself up, quickly washed his face, and walked out of the bathroom.
Have you eaten?
"have eaten."
The rabbit turned around and noticed that her face was frighteningly pale, and she looked even more listless than yesterday.
The rabbit immediately became nervous. "Sister Yun Zhao, are you sick?"
The sentries are physically strong and rarely get sick; they can run around outside in the dead of winter wearing only a single layer of clothing without any problems.
Faced with this situation, the rabbit was a little at a loss and didn't know what to do.
Yun Zhao waved his hand, walked over and sat down, gently comforting her, "It's okay, I'll be fine after resting for a couple of days."
The rabbit looked around and stammered, "Then...do I need to take medicine?"
Yun Zhao said slowly, "No need."
No amount of medication will help with mental overload.
In a remote outpost, there would be no way the guide would have the necessary medications.
The rabbit had no choice. After thinking it over, it hurriedly ran out the door, leaving behind the words, "I'm going to find the captain!"
Yun Zhao watched as the rabbit's figure disappeared through the doorway, and then reached out to close the door behind it.
She sighed, lifted the lid, and prepared to eat.
The food was steaming hot, and the braised beef brisket was very tender; Xie Tu must have gotten up early to prepare it.
Yun Zhao didn't have much of an appetite, but the beef brisket smelled really good.
She couldn't resist picking up a spoon and gently scooping a small piece of beef brisket into her mouth.
The rich aroma of meat spread across her tongue; the beef brisket was stewed to perfection, melting in her mouth, tender and juicy. The mellow flavor was like a warm current, slowly flowing into her stomach.
Yun Zhao couldn't resist and ate two more bites.
How can someone be such a good cook?
She had barely taken a few bites of her meal when she heard a commotion outside the door.
"Come in."
Xie Tu pushed open the door and entered.
When he has a stern face, he exudes a powerful aura. His broad shoulders and impressive height make the room feel cramped as soon as he enters.
Yun Zhao raised his head and met his gaze.
She seemed to know what he was going to say and spoke first: "I'm just not feeling well, but I'm physically fine. Let's leave as planned."
It will take several more days to get back.
Compared to the rooms at the sentry post, the armored vehicle with its heating on was actually warmer.
There are beds and food on the bus.
Walk slowly on the road, just treat it as enjoying the scenery.
Xie Tu pursed his lips and didn't speak, staring straight at her. Suddenly, he walked closer to her and raised his hand to touch her forehead.
The man's large hands almost covered half of her face.
Yun Zhao felt the warm touch and was a little dazed. He couldn't help but look up at him.
As she moved, his hand inevitably touched her nose.
"No fever."
Xie Tu withdrew his hand as if he had been electrocuted, and said nonchalantly, "The conditions at this sentry post are indeed not very good. The only good thing is that it has a decent kitchen."
He looked around and sat down at the foot of her bed.
What do you want to eat tonight?
Xie Tu said, "I'll prepare this in advance so I can heat it up whenever I want to eat it on the way."
Seeing her listless appearance, he felt a strange tightness in his heart.
The guide's physical strength was already very weak.
Xie Tu thought she hadn't recovered yet, having just come from the contaminated area.
He couldn't help her, he just wanted her to eat well and recover her health as soon as possible.
Yun Zhao silently looked away, still holding a spoon in her hand. She pointed to the porridge on the table that was getting cold and said, "How about we talk about tonight after I finish this meal?"
Xie Tu: "...You eat first."
