Chapter 10: Mirror Ghost felt sick
Quick, the door opens.
A woman in an apron was standing inside the door. She was about forty years old and had some freckles on her face. She seemed to have been cooking and her hands were greasy.
Wiping her hair on her apron, the woman gave a mischievous smile. "Please come in, both of you. It's been a bit quiet in the building lately, so everyone's been being careful."
"It's okay." Chen Xue smiled politely, and the two of them walked into the room.
The woman brought two cups of boiling water and placed them on the coffee table. She asked, "What happened? My son and I are the only ones at home. It shouldn't have anything to do with us."
"Your son? Can you call him out?" Chen Xue seemed to have thought of something.
"My son is only eight years old. He can't possibly do anything bad, right?" The woman's face looked a little ugly.
"Don't get me wrong, sister. It's like this for every family. Everyone in the family needs to register to confirm if there are any outsiders." Chen Xue made up an excuse.
The woman nodded and lay down on her side.
While she was gone, Chen Xue looked at Jiang Chen with a strange expression on her face: "I previously used the public security bureau's ID to question the residents in the building and found that besides Zhang Meimei, there is another strange person in this building."
"Many people have seen a little boy who often squats in the shadows of a building, eating with his back to others."
Jiang Chen's eyes moved, and he remembered the "friend" the little girl had mentioned before.
"And I also learned from the nearby police station that the three previous victims had varying degrees of damage to their hands, feet, internal organs, and other parts of their bodies." Chen Xue added.
Hearing this, Jiang Chen narrowed his eyes.
The previous victim of 502 only had facial injuries, but his body was intact. The characteristic of the disfigured ghost's killing is to only chop the face.
This means that something else cut off the limbs of the corpses.
"I'm sorry, Yangyang is too shy. Why don't you go to his room and ask?" The woman walked out from her side bedroom with an apologetic look on her face.
"Okay." Chen Xue nodded.
"Then I'll cook first. Thank you for your hard work, comrades. Let's have dinner here later?" The woman walked towards the kitchen.
Jiang Chen and Chen Xue lay on their sides.
A little boy was lying on the table writing and drawing. His face was pale, as if he had not seen the sun for a long time, and there was a faint foul smell coming from his mouth.
Chen Xue winked at Jiang Chen, telling him to be careful. She was almost certain that the little boy was the ghost that attacked her.
Jiang Chen focused his demonic power in his eyes, and he saw that there were indeed wisps of black resentment coming out of the little boy.
However, he had tried it outside before, and almost all places on the fifth and sixth floors of this building were filled with such resentment. He turned his head to see Chen Xue and saw the same effect.
His demonic powers couldn't help him directly identify a ghost that was trying to disguise itself.
"Little boy, have you been staying in the room all this time?" Chen Xue tried to ask. She also had no way to confirm the ghost now, so she could only lead the other party to reveal the flaws.
However, the other party just looked up at her, then lowered his head without saying a word.
"We are your mother's friends, you don't have to be afraid." Jiang Chen said with a smile.
Unexpectedly, as soon as he said this, the little boy suddenly looked up and stared at him, saying seriously, "Are you talking about that woman outside? She's not my mother."
These words stunned Jiang Chen and Chen Xue.
"No, there is a family photo of three people outside, and it is clearly that woman and the child. Is he trying to confuse us?" Chen Xue whispered.
