The liquid that kept spewing out from the black mist gradually changed from an eerie dark color to a bright red, almost instantly staining a large area of the sea red.
Celine boarded the last warship, followed by Bellamy's soldiers, who were bound and piled up haphazardly. They were all gathered together and no one paid them any more attention.
They were completely unprepared for He Shiyi's influence, and now they were all dazed and unable to move.
Celine glanced back briefly, listened to the calm instructions in her earpiece, and turned to her adjutant beside her, saying, "Lock them in the cabin, plug their eyes and ears, to prevent any untoward incidents."
The adjutant quickly obeyed and took action; she could even hear casual praise coming from the other end of the channel.
She couldn't help but tap her fingers across her chest. To be honest, she hadn't volunteered to come and help specifically to clean up the mess left by the 11th Army.
But now.
Celine looked at the battlefield, which was almost completely surrounded by the Eleventh Army. Everyone was focused and expectantly watching the black mist churning violently in the center of the battlefield. The restless atmosphere that had been permeating everyone quickly subsided.
Their trust in Gu Li is so strong, which is an advantage that sets them apart from other legions and cannot be easily replicated.
Her tense back relaxed slightly, and she raised her hand to press the earpiece: "No need to contact anyone else. Let's wait and see."
She didn't deliberately avoid speaking to the 11th Army members who were accessing the channel. From a distance, she saw several people glance at her in unison before quickly looking away.
Celine blinked, a smile playing on her lips. It turned out that she had been the one who underestimated them all along, even though she thought her operation was very covert and that she only stopped here after completely eliminating the other warships.
It was only a matter of time before their location was discovered, but they moved so fast that it was as if they had known her every move from the very beginning.
Celine's gaze returned to the gradually dissipating black mist. Let her see what kind of monster these people are worshipping...
Gu Li's eyes turned the same jet-black color as the enormous creature behind him, and he became like a nimble robin, flapping his wings and moving through the dense tentacles in the black mist.
The longsword formed from donated blood in her hand almost became a blur, and with each swipe of the tail of the giant bone whale circling above the sea, the blood-red blade light became faster and heavier.
Anze's tentacles, which were caught in the trap, were entangled by He Shiyi and kept in place, while Gu Li's ever-approaching figure was like a death warrant, frantically and calmly severing each tentacle.
The severed limbs vanished instantly into the black mist, and in the darkness, faint chewing and swallowing sounds continued to echo.
Gu Li leaped down from above, slashing his longsword lightly into the darkness. With another sharp screech, the sticky tentacles that had suddenly emerged from the darkness were severed and fell to the ground.
She swung her longsword in the air, changed her posture, and landed lightly on the dark tentacles reaching out to her from below.
Gu Li took a moment to touch the leathery, jet-black tentacles below, then compared them to the splattered fluid on An Ze's wrists, letting out a sigh that sounded like relief.
He Shiyi: "Although it is very inappropriate, I would like to reiterate that I do have some sense of aesthetics."
Gu Li suddenly jumped back, dodging the tentacles that came hurtling towards him with a burst of wind. His eyes flashed strangely for a moment: "Could it be that you can control your appearance?"
Does it look like this now?
"...No, I mean, I tried to avoid some of the more inhumane designs."
He Shiyi: "The downside of being too high-level is that the moment someone sees me, those without resistance will see what they fear most, but those are not me."
Gu Li glanced again at the pitch-black monster standing behind him, which resembled a tall building. Black mist surrounded its mountain-like body, and only its huge black head and countless thick black arms were visible from the mist.
When she first fell off the cliff, I caught a fleeting glimpse of her black wings; I wonder if they were hidden within the churning black mist.
Gu Li spun in the air and fell again, leaving behind countless broken limbs. Her pale face was flushed from the exercise, and she was panting heavily.
"Is it not done yet? My arms are about to cramp from swinging them so much, can you handle it?"
"If not, we can wait for another opportunity..."
He Shiyi's voice came a moment later: "Come up."
Gu Li turned around and grabbed a rising tentacle, instantly escaping the battlefield and landing on He Shiyi's head.
As she watched the black mist gradually dissipate below, she asked, "How do you plan to swallow it?"
She thought for a moment, then raised her hand and suggested, "This thing is so big, do you need us to cut it up for you?"
He Shiyi's voice came slowly: "No, tell them to retreat further away."
He added, "With the boat along."
Gu Li was startled by the sudden sound coming from so close by, and almost slashed at it with his sword. He stopped just in time when he caught a glimpse of the figure with a stark contrast between black and white.
The man's black hair was casually combed back, and his dark, upturned eyes quietly gazed at the sea below, which was stained red with blood. The small black mole at the corner of his lips twitched slightly.
His voice sounded somewhat helpless: "You just said you wanted these as spoils of war... have you forgotten?"
Those extremely dark eyes fell on him. Gu Li stared at him for a while before slowly saying, "...You actually appeared during the day."
Her head suddenly felt heavy as He Shiyi gently pressed it down, then stepped forward to stand beside her.
He Shiyi met An Ze's resentful gaze from afar and let out a soft snort: "The diligent agent has prepared a gift for me, so it is only polite to attend in person to take it over."
He was still wearing the same simple white shirt and black pants he had worn when they first met. The hem of his shirt was flapping in the wind, giving him a relaxed and carefree look that seemed out of place in the center of the battlefield. Yet, no one dared to underestimate He Shiyi, who had suddenly appeared.
Because the moment the black mist dissipated, he took a step forward out of thin air, and a sudden gust of wind arose.
Suddenly, a pair of enormous, jet-black wings unfurled behind the man, shimmering with starlight. Upon closer inspection, those starlight points transformed into twinkling eyes.
He hovered in the air, reaching out a hand to Anze, who was screaming and struggling with his head opposite him.
Anze, who had just been able to barely hold his own against He Shiyi in the black mist, suddenly took a step back, causing the sea to tremble.
Its severed tentacles are growing wildly, attempting to dive into the seabed.
He Shiyi looked down at An Ze, who suddenly turned around and fled in a disheveled state. His dark, opaque eyes flickered, and he gently grasped with his outstretched hand.
The black mist that shot into the sky transformed into a giant hand.
It instantly enveloped Anze.
"Waaaaah!"
A tremendous cry of anguish erupted simultaneously from the black mist: "...No! Let...me...go...out...no!"
