In the dark and cramped room, the three of them remained silent for a moment before the woman finally regained her ability to speak and stepped forward to drag the boy named Wang Yu out.
Her tone was still somewhat unsteady, but her finger smacked him squarely on the forehead: "What shorty! This is our savior! Hurry up and thank him!"
Gu Li stood in the center of the room, searching carefully with her eyes closed, ignoring the subtle exchange between the two, and walked straight towards the boy.
The cold silver cane pressed against his chin, a gesture that should have been imposing, but because she was shorter than the boy, it looked somewhat comical.
Neither Wang Yu, who was being held down by a cane that had just been able to easily pierce through the body of an alien, nor the woman standing next to him could manage a smile.
Wang Yu finally regained her composure from her initial shock, her voice hoarse: "What...what are you doing?"
Gu Li raised her eyebrows and looked him up and down: "Did someone just give you a hairband?"
Wang Yu felt uncomfortable all over because of the cold and strange touch on his chin. The thought that this thing had just been pulled out of the alien's body made him feel tormented both physically and mentally.
His forehead was covered in cold sweat, and he was still hesitating when the woman behind him slapped him on the head.
The woman glanced at Gu Li with apprehension, no longer harboring any contempt for him, even though he was a genetically weak human who should have been at the bottom of society.
"This is your savior, so hurry up and tell me! You'll have to explain to me later how you attracted all these things!"
Wang Yu glanced at the almost completely destroyed room, his face breaking out in a cold sweat. He stammered, "I didn't have any hairbands on me. It was just that Boss Duran came over to me today and took a box. It seems like there was a piece of obsidian inside."
Gu Li stretched out his cane: "A box?"
This time it was the woman who answered. She could tell that Gu Li had no intention of killing her. She gently extended her hand, which was painted with red nail polish, and slowly removed the cane from Wang Yu's neck.
He explained, "It's a prop sold in our shop, made from the skin of insectoids. It can conceal one's presence. Generally, when we obtain the flesh and blood of a level three or higher alien species, we seal it in a box to prevent attracting more alien species."
She explained in great detail, and then considerately added, "If the person you are looking for is Duran, we can provide the address."
Gu Li nodded, her gaze falling on the giant fleshy worm behind the door. No wonder He Shiyi's aura disappeared here. Her hair tie had left her side, and it had only stayed here for a short while, yet it had attracted these things.
"I need to get my things back as soon as possible. Where is that person?"
The woman glanced at Wang Yu, who immediately snapped out of his daze, tapped the communicator on his wrist, and then carefully touched Gu Li's wrist.
He immediately put it away, his eyes filled with awe: "Alright, you can check it on the communicator. Duran usually stays in these few places."
Gu Li nodded and turned to leave.
Unexpectedly, Wang Yu suddenly called out to him. He was startled when he met those sky-blue eyes, and then said, "You need to be careful. Duran is a brother of the boss of District One."
The leader of District One?
Gu Li frowned imperceptibly. Another person had appeared?
The roof alarm had long since stopped ringing, but Gu Li still felt a bit of a headache.
She stood at the doorway. Outside were two alien corpses with their heads pierced, and inside was a flattened insect corpse and two people looking at her hesitantly.
This made her feel like she was causing them trouble as well, when suddenly, the sound of orderly footsteps came from outside the door.
Gu Li suddenly turned around, grabbed Wang Yu's caller ID and added him as a friend, and then jumped out of the room through the window.
"Someone is coming. Don't tell them you've seen me before. See you next time."
A gust of wind blew by, lifting the open curtains. Wang Yu stared in disbelief, took a couple of steps forward, and leaned against the window to look outside.
Then he turned back to the woman and gave her a smile that looked more like a grimace: "That way leads to the fiftieth floor... Boss, she shouldn't have died from the fall, right?"
The sound of footsteps filing in from the doorway made her roll her eyes: "Hindsight is 20/20. By the time they arrive, everyone will be dead."
Turning around, she was met with a face hidden behind a mask. The woman's expression changed drastically, and she trembled, trying to throw herself into the arms of the leading man: "I was so scared!!! How could a low-level creature appear here, sir! Waaaaah!"
Xu Feihe's gaze swept over the two familiar corpses in the corridor, his dark eyes slowly landing on the woman's face, his eyes narrowing slightly.
The still-warm gun barrel was pressed against the woman's chest, pushing her away. Xu Feihe recalled, "Let me think, are you going to say that you don't know what happened either, but at the critical moment a hero whose face you can't see bravely stepped in and saved you, and then disappeared without taking a penny?"
Woman, Wang Yu: "How did you know?"
She also paid 100,000 points.
The woman nodded hesitantly, then her eyes met those of a young man in the group who looked out of place and was covered in blood. Zhang Heng gave the woman a pitiful smile.
I recognized them by their eyes; they were the same people who had been saved before.
Xu Feihe snorted coldly and waved his hand. The people behind him stepped forward one after another and began to record the video skillfully and clean up the battlefield.
He then led the three men onto their spaceship, saying, "Don't think I'm easy to fool. Once we're in jail, it'll be too late if you don't tell the truth!"
Women, Wang Yu, Zhang Heng: These days, nobody believes you when you tell the truth.
They then heard Xu Feihe, who was driving in front, scratch the hair that was sticking out from the back of his head and click his tongue.
"I haven't slept for three days and have been drinking nutritional supplements for three days! I was about to get off work when I was called out again. Does that kid really think our law enforcement team is there to clean up his messes?"
The three looked at each other for a moment, then silently shut their mouths.
Wang Yu's expression was unfocused. Judging by that person's current speed, they should have arrived at Duran's place by now. He just didn't know if fighting and brawling were under that person's jurisdiction.
The workers' grievances were practically radiating outwards.
The spaceship gradually ascended, and when it reached the top of the building, it suddenly roared and shot off.
Xu Feihe was still wearing a helmet and mask, maneuvering the spaceship with one hand. He glanced casually at the communicator, and then his face, hidden under the mask, quickly turned ashen.
Amidst the terrified screams of the three, the spaceship was ejected from its suddenly deformed orbit, and Xu Feihe gritted her teeth.
"Damn it, all this fighting and brawling is being blamed on me?!"
Wang Yu, who was sitting obediently in the back row, shrank his neck.
This time, the spaceship was almost racing, constantly traversing the changing trajectory that guided its direction and speed at an altitude of thousands of meters.
So much so that when Xu Feihe landed with his people, they happened to see the signboard of the largest health spa in District 1 being kicked down.
A huge light sign, dangling from crackling power lines, swept past the spaceship with a loud bang.
