Ning Jia smiled apologetically: "Haha, yes, isn't it a coincidence that they just happened to be passing by?"
The interrogation room door was suddenly pushed open, and Ning Jia looked at the person who walked in with pleading eyes. Wang Li's gaze fell on the person and his eyes narrowed.
“Although we work year-round here, the wounded are an exception. You should be lying in bed right now.”
Wang Li got up and walked towards Xu Feihe.
Xu Feihe had just finished his treatment and came straight to the interrogation room. In the dim light of the corridor, he overheard Gu Li and Ning Jia's conversation and knew that Ning Jia probably couldn't fool the boss.
His face was as white as paper. He stood ramrod straight in front of Wang Li and lowered his voice: "The other person at the scene is the owner of the lost property that we brought there. This is related to another case. We let her escape when the incident happened. Boss, please take a look at the records."
"I was too disoriented to see the person who saved me."
Simply concealing the truth wouldn't fool Wang Li; his words were only half true.
Wang Li's sharp gaze swept over the two of them, he let out a soft snort, tapped his finger on the communicator, and brought up a virtual screen in front of them.
A pale-skinned girl with light blonde hair is facing the camera, with her information written next to her.
"Have you guys been drinking nutritional supplements and gotten your brains all fogged up? How can you not see such an obvious fake?"
He pulled up another file and put the two together.
Two files with the same age, name, and identical appearance were placed side by side, leaving the two speechless for a moment, both doubting their own eyes.
Wang Li continued, "Weren't you all curious about the mission I had before I was transferred?"
He pointed to the documents: "The mission is to eliminate Gu Li, the illegitimate daughter of the Gu family who has been corrupted."
He recalled the day when the enormous alien species swarmed out from under the cliff, annihilating the entire squad in a single encounter.
Let alone a little girl who has been shot twice?
He added, "I'm sure she's dead."
