On the Death Plain, a spaceship took off with an unusually unrestrained manner, shooting into the distance like an arrow released from a bow.
With a single shot, Wang Li blasted away the abyssal alien creature clinging to his body, his movements almost mechanically ruthless yet efficient.
They are dedicated to sending all the hordes of filth back to their hometown.
Beside him was Xu Feihe, who had insisted on coming along this time. He irritably shot the last sticky alien and placed the metal device on the ground.
The group had a brief chance to catch their breath.
Xu Feihe reached out and tapped the helmet, then deftly pulled out the communication device, and magically produced a screwdriver and wrench from his body, which he fiddled with for a while.
A terrified female voice exploded in everyone's ears. The atmosphere suddenly became even more tense after a long battle at the foot of the mountain had just ended.
Xu Feihe froze, his hands still fiddling with the communication device. He could hardly believe it. They had only been gone for less than two hours, and C02 base had already been attacked and fallen.
Ning Jia walked back from behind the cover in the distance, carrying a sniper rifle on her back, and looked at Wang Li with Xu Feihe.
"team leader."
Wang Li was still covered in the sticky liquid from the alien creature, and there were several deep scratches on his helmet. He stood there like a statue.
After a long pause, he slowly said, "Rest here for ten minutes, then return urgently. Xu Feihe, you continue to try to contact the base."
"Ning Jia, try contacting a nearby squad."
For a large-scale invasion, they must gather a certain amount of strength!
Disappointingly, whether it was the base's communication channel or the channels of other squads, all they could hear was a grating static sound.
Only the notice issued by Chen Yuan at the last moment kept echoing in everyone's ears.
The despair in her words was like a suffocating rope, tightening around her neck.
The group stood still, and a small black dot appeared in the sky, almost touching the clouds.
A strange yet familiar female voice was calling out something in a weak tone.
The group snapped out of their daze. Wang Li, his face ashen, stepped forward, snatched the constantly repeating communication device, and threw it on the ground.
"Bang bang bang!"
After several gunshots, it was smashed to pieces.
Xu Feihe seemed to wake from a dream, and reached out to shake Ning Jia's shoulder hard, her voice hoarse: "Wake up."
Ning Jia snapped out of her daze and immediately shut down the base's communications with lingering fear, staring at the shattered device on the ground with a strange look in her eyes.
The feeling of suffocation was so real; she was gasping for breath: "...What...what's going on?"
Xu Feihe rubbed his fingers together, feeling a bit like smoking. He gritted his teeth and said, "This is pollution."
Ning Jia immediately looked up at him: "Did something happen to the base?!"
Xu Feihe pondered for a moment: "It's just a message, we can't be sure if the base has completely fallen yet. We still need to go back as soon as possible."
He turned his head to look at their leader.
Wang Li stared at the approaching spaceship and finally heard the voice clearly.
"Ahem, this is a spaceship bound for Base C02. Passengers who wish to board, please enter your name, age, and team number in the channel. If you are not boarding, enter 1."
The languid and listless tone in his voice made one's hands itch to do something.
Xu Feihe recognized the voice, his eye twitched, and he couldn't help but look at his boss: "Boss, let's take their boat back."
Ning Jia looked up excitedly: "How did Gu Li get here!"
Wang Li glanced at the two of them, his fingers flying across the keyboard as he sent a message, his sharp eyes fixed on the spaceship that was getting closer and closer in mid-air.
The hand gripping the gun tightened silently.
It wasn't until the spaceship's external loudspeaker malfunctioned and the hatch opened with difficulty, that everyone could see what was inside.
No, they didn't actually see anything.
The medium-sized spaceship, capable of carrying fifty people, was filled with a sea of black heads, crammed together like a sardine can.
The team member who accidentally fell out when the hatch opened silently climbed back in.
I don't know where Gu Li and the other two flew back from; they're probably all here with the teams from the two spaceships.
Inside the spaceship, only Irwin and Gu Li, who were sitting in the cockpit and co-pilot respectively, were barely able to maintain their human form.
The moment the hatch opened, Gu Li took a deep breath of the fresh but foul-smelling air outside.
This choice, which was a lose-lose situation, made her look even worse.
She spoke rapidly: "All checked, are you sure you want to board the ship?"
Wang Li nodded amidst the despair in the eyes of the other two.
The other return spaceship point is quite a distance away, and they can't afford to waste time.
"Then remember to hurry up."
Gu Li smiled from inside his helmet and snapped his fingers at Irwin: "Let's go."
Before Xu Feihe could even ask how to get up into the packed cabin,
The spaceship in front of us suddenly accelerated, braked, and opened its hatch all in one smooth motion.
Forced by the reaction force, they all piled up like a human pyramid on the front half of the spaceship, leaving only a small gap at the rear.
Wang Li, Xu Feihe, Ning Jia: ...
·
The underground hospital of Base C02 is where most of the survivors and combatants are gathered. A large group of people sat nervously in the lobby on the first floor.
Listening to the continuous sounds of gunfire outside, most of the conscripted people had not yet set off, but they witnessed countless alien species descending from the sky.
They were like hungry wolves invading a flock of sheep, tearing and polluting everywhere. Countless people died in front of them, and everyone was terrified.
They huddled together in a corner of the lobby, watching the medical staff rushing around the hospital and the soldiers being carried in from outside.
