It was the third day after the battle. Gu Li and his men had cleaned up the battlefield, but they still hadn't received any news from the Lower Sixth District.
Her military uniform had long been damaged in battle, so she simply changed into a little dress that Eric had arranged for her.
A short black swallowtail coat paired with a dark red lining, a dark bow tie at the collar, and long, slender legs that peek out from knee-length suit shorts, encased in white calf socks.
The outfit, which should have been very retro and elegant, took on a more casual feel due to the owner's current actions.
Gu Li stood at the bow of a warship, one foot on the gunwale, gazing in the direction of District One, her light golden hair fluttering in the wind behind her.
She eagerly stretched out her hand in that direction: "Eleventh Fleet, set sail!"
The warships lined up in the harbor moved in response, their black flags bearing the large insignia of the 11th Army fluttering in the air.
On the deck not far behind Gu Li, Levi, who had set sail with the ship, touched his neatly combed hair.
"Why not use the flag I made?"
Holding a black-covered notebook and wearing a black suit, the extremely tall man pushed up his glasses and said, "We just want a flag, not a support flag. I reject your proposal."
Levi gritted his teeth, turned his head and stared at Cen Xingbang's calm and restrained eyes behind his glasses for a moment, then suddenly sneered: "I guessed it was you a long time ago. I also rejected your book purchase application."
As the two stopped on the deck and their eyes met, a chill seemed to run through them.
The figure standing on the ship's railing had long since disappeared while the two were facing off, and Gu Li tiptoed silently into the cabin.
The surveillance footage clearly shows that the ship's hull snapped the moment Levy made his move.
She let out a soft breath, wiped non-existent beads of sweat from her forehead, and muttered to herself, "Luckily, I ran fast."
The pilot, temporarily transferred from the First Army to drive the warship, pretended not to see the ship damaged yet again, and the Eleventh Army Corps Commander squatting unceremoniously behind him.
He pressed the communicator on his ear, coughed lightly, and looked at Gu Li: "Sir, our access application has been approved."
Gu Li's eyes lit up, and she jumped up from behind him: "Your speed has improved! Then we can go even faster!"
The driver wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and looked at the port that had appeared in the distance.
"Ah, well... you ordered us to proceed at full speed long ago, and we've arrived now. Should we... slow down and enter the port?"
At least give the higher-ups some face!
They just had a meeting and agreed that we could set off to support District Six, and the next second we're already there. Is this acceptable?
Unfortunately, the officer less than a meter away from him seemed not to have received his hint and directly announced that they would enter the port to prepare for the search and rescue operation.
With a pained expression, the pilot maneuvered the warship directly into the port. These were warships that had just been seized, and their information had not yet been entered.
Upon arrival at the port, a brief alarm was sounded.
Gu Li quickly signed the port entry application on the communication device, and the alarm stopped.
Her gaze swept over the quiet, ghost-like district, and she casually patted the driver on the shoulder.
"Thank you for waiting here."
Gu Li adjusted the longsword at his waist and strode outside, a familiar voice constantly coming through his earpiece.
"First squad assembled, awaiting instructions!"
"Second squad assembled, awaiting instructions!"
...
"Sixth squad has assembled. Requesting instructions!"
Gu Li stepped out of the wheelhouse and onto the ship's gunwale, pressed his earpiece, and scanned the crowd of people leading teams of soldiers wrapped in cloaks.
"The first objective is to quickly eliminate the aliens of missionary rank and above in the city, and then rescue the trapped personnel and the trapped search and rescue team."
I've arrived in Wuhu!
[I knew that if we just waited here at the port, we'd be able to see Lili!]
Wait... what do you mean by "trapped rescue personnel"?
[I'm already laughing before it even starts. Seeing the 11th Army will make things much easier (laughs)]
[It's just as ridiculous that the 11th Army appeared outside District 1 at the same time that the support request was approved.]
(This is not meant to say that the 11th Army is bad.)
[It's great! I love watching it!]
A deafening alarm blared, and the people scattered throughout the shelters in the district turned pale.
Having been trapped here for nearly a month, food was running out, and everyone's mental state had reached its limit.
The pale-faced boy in the corner, like a wolf cub cornered, stared warily at the others with bloodshot eyes.
In the crowded shelter, there was a space deliberately left empty around the boy and the woman behind him.
Wang Tian coughed weakly twice. Her body, wrapped in a fiery red fur coat, was so thin that she was almost unrecognizable.
Ignoring the wary looks from others, she reached out with difficulty and gently patted Wang Yu's back.
Wang Yu practically jumped up, turned around, and hugged his sister, who was being tortured to the point of barely clinging to life, into his arms. His voice trembled as he asked, "Sister?"
He didn't see the astonished and greedy looks on the faces of those around him. With his back to them, he hugged his sister, who had finally woken up, tightly and cried tears of joy: "You're finally awake!"
Wang Tian's gaze drifted vaguely toward the direction of the alarm, her voice barely audible: "Don't...don't be afraid, someone's coming...they must be here to rescue us."
She only moved her lips slightly before saying the last sentence, without uttering a sound.
Wang Yu's breath hitched, and he forcibly suppressed the urge to look at Wang Tian's feet. He moved closer and used his back to block the probing gaze from behind.
