Chapter 50 The King's Blood

A brief silence fell over the church roof.

Eric avoided those clear, almost alien-like blue eyes and smiled slightly. "It's just that the business deal fell through. That's how it is among aliens; they always settle things with their fists, no matter where they are."

Gu Li jumped down, and Eric casually scooped her up and put her on Eric's shoulder. After struggling in vain, Gu Li pouted and let him go.

Eric's doors have become double doors after the pollution worsened.

He could easily carry her on one shoulder, and if Cecil diagnosed him with scoliosis, she would absolutely not take responsibility.

Gu Li retracted the wings on her back, and as Eric leaped down, she let out a small cheer: "Then I guess the other side is probably dead?"

Eric seemed to hesitate for a moment, then slowly moved forward, a silver cane in his hoof: "I'm not sure, I just tossed it into the mixed species pile."

"...He must be dead."

Gu Li, resting her chin on her hand, felt the pain surging through her body again, penetrating to the bone. She sat calmly on her No. 8 steed, her tone slow and deliberate: "But the purpose of this business trip wasn't achieved, was it?"

"Don't worry about this, Miss. We will resolve it as quickly as possible."

She ignored him and continued, "Then let me give it a try, okay?"

Eric fell silent, for his left arm, which had been severed by the Deep Sea's servants, had only just grown back. He used only one hoof to lift Gu Li off the waist and place him on Angor, who was pretending to pass by.

Angell: Hehe.

Eric knelt down on one knee, level with Gu Li's gaze: "The outside world is dangerous."

Gu Li: "I know that even Eric gets hurt by them, but don't let my appearance fool you, I'm actually quite strong."

She raised her hand to show the pitiful amount of muscle on her arm, which was almost non-existent. She had even lost a little weight during her recovery period, making her look completely unconvincing.

But no one understood better than them what a powerful, persistent, and incredibly strong-willed girl she was.

"Hahaha, let you out, and then let them watch our king cry while smashing everyone to pieces? Damn, that's actually kind of exciting."

Lancer waved his fluorescent blue tentacles, lost in thought.

Gu Li wanted to laugh, but she held it in and nodded firmly in the face of Eric's serious gaze.

"If it's something you can't handle, then of course Wang will handle it for you!"

Gu Li stood up from Angell, put his hands on his hips and looked down at Eric, who was kneeling on one knee: "Our city has been reduced to ruins. It's just too heartbreaking to think about."

Do you know what that guy wants?

A person walked over from the outside, and the people who had gathered around made way for the deer-headed man.

Eric, who had already stood up when Cen Xingbang spoke, nodded to him: "Mr. Cen."

Cen Xingbang stood in front of Gu Li, his white-gloved hand slightly raised. An invisible force lifted Gu Li's chin, bringing them into his gaze.

Cen Xingbang raised an eyebrow, took a bottle of nutritional supplement from his suit pocket and placed it in Gu Li's palm: "I think only a brat who hasn't grown up yet would act tough."

Gu Li was a little reluctant to accept it. It would be too undignified to accept nutritional supplements from the other party during negotiations.

But when Cen Xingbang raised his eyebrows for the second time, he silently took it and, with a sour face, blew on the bottle of nutrient solution again under the watchful eyes of many people.

Gu Li didn't want to interrupt the conversation: "What kind of medicine do they want?"

The deer-headed man was not surprised by her insistence. He nodded and walked towards the church, saying, "Come with me."

Gu Li followed, while the others stayed outside.

Cen Xingbang was very familiar with this place. He walked all the way to a place that Gu Li was very familiar with, which belonged to Cecil's clinic.

She had a bad feeling and looked at him warily: "Why did you bring me here?"

"Let me show you the truth."

Cen Xingbang pushed open the door to the consultation room without any resistance, walked in first, and then looked at her in the darkness.

Gu Li pursed her lips and stepped inside without showing any weakness.

The door slammed shut behind her, and Gu Li's vision went black for a moment. Then she seemed to hear the sound of a switch being turned on, and everything in front of her suddenly lit up.

Gu Li stared wide-eyed, speechless.

The lights in the examination room were actually working.

However, the treatment room, which Gu Li was already familiar with in every corner, was a completely different sight. Standing alone on the treatment bed in the center of the room was a humanoid figure wrapped in countless thin vines.

Upon closer inspection, the vines were rooted in the human body and then extended to the ceiling, densely covering the entire white wall.

Countless slender branches also hung down irregularly.

They looked very much like withered, rotting vines, but inside they had a scarlet color like meat.

Gu Li couldn't see the person's face clearly, but she understood something from the unconscious trembling of the branches.

She walked to the treatment bed in a few steps and reached out to grasp the hand that served as the warm bed of vines without hesitation. The scene before her was enough to make any normal person lose their mind, but Gu Li only remembered that lively yet deliberately mysterious female voice.

“…Cecil?”

The hand she was holding moved slightly. Gu Li thought for a moment and sent a ball of starlight through the point where their hands were clasped: "Cecil."

This time her tone was much calmer.

"No wonder you always told me not to turn on the lights, so you're a tentacle user too."

Gu Li's tone was relaxed, and the vines hanging in mid-air breathed a sigh of relief, swaying in the air: "Li Li, don't you think I'm...?"
