The group quickly packed their things and left the house timidly.
When Gu Li was ushered outside, she realized that the place where everyone was still in the eastern part of the city was still there, but the eastern part of the city was less lively than yesterday.
The bloodstains scattered in sprays across the street corners added an eerie touch to the somber atmosphere.
She looked away; it seemed things hadn't been peaceful outside the square yesterday either.
I wonder what those residents who believed that worshipping Nicholas would grant them immortality and turned them into monsters are thinking now.
Do they regret pushing innocent people into the abyss without hesitation?
Gu Li knew this wasn't the time to ask questions, so he suppressed his curiosity about what had happened since yesterday and quietly walked at the front of the group.
In front of her were He Shiyi and his group, who were leading the way. She could sense that in the shadows behind the group, some of their team members were also secretly following behind.
Gu Li walked on the bluestone road in slippers, which not only felt a little slippery but also slowed her down.
She quickened her pace silently to catch up with He Shiyi ahead of her.
Her gaze drifted aimlessly ahead, and the impact on her head was greater than she had imagined. Gu Li pulled down her furry sleeve to cover her cold hands.
Her fingertips unconsciously traced her waist, and her expression suddenly froze.
Where is her pendant?
Gu Li couldn't help but quicken her pace, and under the watchful eyes of those behind her, she walked up to He Shiyi and asked in a low, cautious voice, "Where's my pendant?"
"My weapons are still inside, they shouldn't have been left behind, right?!"
He Shiyi still had that jet-black longsword hanging at his waist. As Gu Li was speaking, the two of them simultaneously noticed the strange movement coming from ahead.
Gu Li subconsciously took a step forward, her fingers twitched, but a dark shadow flashed past the corner of her eye.
She tried to make a move, but He Shiyi moved even faster, disappearing from his spot almost instantly and appearing at the very front of the group.
His left hand was still gripping the hilt of the sword at his waist. His dark eyes slowly searched the air for a moment before the humanoid alien, appearing with a gust of wind, bent its legs slightly and flashed out with incredible speed.
The long, black claws viciously clawed at the human at the front of the line.
He Shiyi slowly raised his dark eyes and stared at the alien creature for a moment. Amidst the screams of the crowd, he calmly drew the narrow sword from his waist.
A silver arc appeared in mid-air, and the narrow, jet-black sword was flicked slightly in He Shiyi's hand before being sheathed again.
His tall figure brushed past the alien creature, which stood frozen in place, without even glancing to the side.
"They're gone."
Gu Li followed him the moment he drew his sword. Levi and Cecil, as the temporary leaders of the team, calmed the group, which was on the verge of disbanding in chaos.
Excluding Gu Li and his group, the group of about fifty or sixty people began to move again.
Gu Li came up behind He Shiyi, her eyes fixed intently on his back: "Hand over my pendant now, and I promise I won't act recklessly!"
He Shiyi glanced at her casually, his relaxed voice belying the fact that he was walking through a city completely overrun by alien species.
"real?"
The tone of distrust, calm yet possessing an explosive charm.
Gu Li gritted his teeth and gritted them again, but in the end, he slunk back to the group.
Levi slowed his pace to walk alongside her: "Tsk tsk tsk, what did he do to you? Why don't you go up and show him what's what? No way, no way."
"Are you scared?"
Gu Li's deadpan gaze swept over the instigating Levi: "Are you really looking forward to He Shiyi and me fighting in front of you?! Be careful, or I'll tell Vivian when we get back!"
She suddenly remembered something, and taking advantage of the free time, she tapped the communication on her wrist. Sure enough, the live stream was still going on.
The screen automatically turns off when I go to sleep at night, even though it has only been broadcasting for a short time.
Only a few scattered comments floated slowly across the screen.
Gu Li opened the fan ranking and found Vivian's private account at the top of the list with ease. It was a cute cartoon cotton ball with a Q version octopus on the screen.
Gu Li glanced at Levi, and it was highly likely that she had added him after meeting Levi.
Damn it, her jealousy intensified.
"Why didn't you draw me in too? My shape is clearly better looking."
Levi peeked over at the screen in her hand, quickly deciphered Gu Li's expression, and a smug smile appeared on his face.
"Of course! We're the siblings!"
Gu Li quickly composed herself, her large, round, sky-blue eyes fixed on the screen, a hint of disappointment in them.
"is that so?"
Levi watched her fluid movements, his eyes narrowing slightly, then suddenly becoming wary: "What are you doing?"
Then he watched as a barrage of comments with golden effects swept across the screen.
[Looks like Chestnut is definitely cuter now~ I've changed her~]
Levi: !
[Hahahaha, you should just sell this sword; you'll sell it to someone who doesn't know where it is, hahahaha!]
[I never imagined I'd see such an obvious look of utter despair on the handsome face of an officer in the 11th Army! Hahaha!]
Does anyone remember what they were doing? Focus, you idiots! Don't let anything happen to Lili!
[Hilarious! I always find everyone's daily life so funny. It's so entertaining and I love watching it! So much fun!]
It seems nobody really remembers that we're currently navigating a crisis-ridden city, is that it?
