Celine's gaze paused for a moment, her smile gradually fading as she looked at Ernst beside her.
The Chairman has never interfered much in military affairs, but why today?
Amidst the subtle gazes of the crowd, Gu Li slowly curved her lips into a smile, her sky-blue eyes looking up and meeting Job's gaze for a moment.
“I don’t consider myself the leader of the Eleventh Army,” she said casually, crossing her legs. “I’m just taking on this position temporarily thanks to everyone’s kindness.”
Gu Li's smile was innocent yet somehow carried a hint of arrogance.
She gestured with her chin toward the crowd: "We came to this meeting with the intention of cooperation. After all, the mysterious church has grand ambitions, and when the nest is overturned, no egg remains unbroken."
"I didn't expect that you all seem to have some opinions you want to share with me. How about we make everything clear before the meeting begins?"
Gu Li finished speaking with a smile.
Some people looked visibly uncomfortable; her words were clearly a slap in the face to them. The 11th Army, with its intelligence and manpower, wanted to work together to resolve this matter.
However, some of them have been sabotaging us from the very beginning. Could it be that they want to abandon the 11th Army operation, or that they are still preoccupied with personal grudges in the face of disaster?
She's clearly trying to embarrass people.
But they were the ones who struck first, so even if they were unhappy, they couldn't say it in front of everyone.
William Eric felt the gazes on him, but remained unmoved, leaning back in his chair and tapping his thigh with his fingers.
To prevent others from seeing one's expression.
David Dobson, from the Sixth Army Corps who had just suggested the meeting continue, suddenly turned pale and stood up abruptly: "Commander Gu, what do you mean by that? Does the Eleventh Army Corps have become so arrogant that it no longer respects the Chairman?!"
Gu Li sighed slightly.
She glanced at David with displeasure, not expecting him to be the one to step forward; she had thought she could drag a few more people out.
Levi, who was standing behind her, stepped forward at the right moment and refilled the wine glass in front of Gu Li. He adopted the usual aristocratic posture and looked down at David with disdain.
"Our leader is still young, please be understanding."
In stark contrast to his calm tone, a terrifying atmosphere suddenly enveloped the conference room, and the building's pollution alarm instantly blared.
Those present were all elites among humans. Although they were not likely to undergo direct mutations from the pollution released by Levi, their bodies still instinctively stiffened for a moment.
William instinctively gripped the weapon at his waist, but the next moment he heard Levi's contemptuous chuckle, and his invisible aura vanished abruptly.
His uncontrollable tension was noticed by his colleagues. William slowly sheathed his drawn sword, sat down expressionlessly, and seemed unaffected.
"Clap clap clap!"
Sitting at the head of the table, Job Daniel watched the farce unfold before him, clapping his hands with his usual composure. He looked down at the girl who seemed out of place among the others, a smile slowly creeping into his eyes.
"In that case, let's not waste any more time and begin the meeting."
They had already seen the information sent back by the 11th Army, so they naturally knew about the three locations marked out within the Federation. It is worth mentioning that one of them was located near the Federation University.
The other two locations are in District 11, which has the closest connection with the security zone, and District 7.
Neither District 11 nor District 7 had recently had Legion troops stationed there, yet no one noticed anything amiss.
Celine, as Ernst's student and the leader of all legions before the Eleventh Army appeared, was the first to stand up under the chief's gaze.
"We went to the designated locations to investigate as soon as we received the information, but we found nothing unusual. However, these three locations have one thing in common."
She projected the three buildings onto the screen in front of her: "These three buildings are long-abandoned buildings, but we found traces of recent activity inside them, and we also compared them with the location of the teleportation array that suddenly appeared in Zone 1."
Everyone's hearts sank; hearing her say that, they all guessed what she meant.
Those three buildings must be extraordinary.
As expected, Celine revealed the building in Zone 1 where Gu Li and the others had been teleported away that day: "This building has been abandoned for a long time and has recently been put into use. Although we cannot find any anomalies in the building, we cannot be sure that it is not the work of the mysterious church."
She paused for a moment: "After all, they are capable of teleportation, so who knows if they might also input something."
Everyone's expression turned serious. If those formations could transmit things, then it could only be alien species or an army.
Gu Li stared thoughtfully at the three buildings on the screen, suddenly remembering what she had seen at Red Bee.
If they plan to split and summon Nicholas, that so-called ancient god probably won't be too happy, as they themselves will be the first to suffer.
The usage of these teleportation arrays was immediately clear in Gu Li's mind.
She clicked her tongue, wondering how much those people hated her.
After Celine sat down, Ernst immediately assigned the legions guarding the three locations. This time, no one refused, but some people couldn't help but look in the direction of the Eleventh Army.
After making his arrogant remarks upon entering, Gu Li quieted down and stared thoughtfully at the projected photos.
Someone gestured for William or David to go up and ask, as they didn't want to risk trouble. William lowered his head, took a sip of his low-alcohol liqueur, and pretended not to see anything.
David gave those people a cold glance. Did they really think he was a fool?
In the quiet meeting room, someone finally broke the silence, and David looked in that direction.
Oh, it's Ernst. Oh, then it's alright.
Everyone knows that Ernst is Gu Li's teacher. Although he only studied at the Federal University for a few days and was only nominally a student there, everyone can see that Gu Li has great respect for this principal.
Besides... someone looked at the man behind Gu Li, wasn't that him too?
Ernst Levy finished arranging his tasks and then looked at Gu Li with a relaxed expression: "I heard there's more news about the Eleventh Army."
The more Gu Li looked at these three places, the more subtle they seemed. These three places appeared to form a very regular inverted triangle on the map.
As we all know, the inverted triangle is a symbol of evil, so it seems plausible that it represents some kind of evil god here.
Upon hearing Ernst's words, Gu Li did not refuse any longer. She got up and walked silently to the virtual screen, gradually shrinking the map and connecting the three locations amidst the puzzled looks of the crowd.
Job Daniel paused, startled. "An inverted triangle."
William Eric muttered to himself, "It's just an inverted triangle. We all know it's the work of the mysterious church. What's so strange about an inverted triangle appearing?"
