While firing wildly at Gu Li, he jumped into the car with one hand on the front door. Gu Li reflexively hid behind the seat and grabbed the wine bottle that had fallen to his feet.
Her sky-blue eyes narrowed slightly, and as Barry tried to lean in and grab her, she suddenly looked him straight in the eye.
The man froze instantly.
"Bang!"
The shards of the beer bottle burst open above his head. Gu Li let out a slight sigh, curled her lips at Jack who had jumped into the car, and pointed the remaining half of the beer bottle at him.
"drive."
Jack glanced in horror at his unconscious companion and swallowed hard: "We can't leave until we deal with that thing ahead."
Without hesitation, Gu Li pressed the sharp bottle opening against Jack's back.
"Then why did you come back?"
He glanced at Barry again, tears welling in his eyes, his body tense as he stared at the approaching alien creature.
"Barry needs time to use his abilities; we're stalling for time!"
He noticed the confusion in Gu Li's eyes, and his tone began to break down.
"Listen to me, sister, this thing has its eyes on us. We can't get into the city with it. You have to wake Barry up so we can get back alive!"
Gu Li turned to look at Lucy: "Let him go."
Lucy's fingers, which were resting on her body, twitched slightly, and Jack then noticed that Barry had been tightly bound with thin fishing line at some point.
The girl somehow moved her hand, and the threads obediently retracted.
He thought Barry, who was unconscious, slowly got up from his seat.
Barry's fierce gaze fell on Lucy, who innocently shielded herself behind Gu Li.
Gu Li pursed her lips and pointed to the front of the vehicle, where a mutated creature, covered in festering sores and dragging a long object wrapped in dirty bandages, was present.
"He's here."
