“I think we were pretty close back then,” she said, oblivious to the sudden glint in He Shiyi’s dark eyes. “Even when our memories were off, we got along really well, didn’t we?”
"I'm already looking forward to life after I get out of here. Are all the people in that game real?"
Gu Li sighed, resting her chin on her hand, "I really want to see it with my own eyes."
As He Shiyi gazed at Gu Li's longing face, a part of his heart began to crumble, and the world began to become unstable.
His voice was drowned out by the Ferris wheel, which began to tremble and topple.
"You've already seen it, everyone likes you."
"Me too."
Calmly experiencing the weightlessness brought on by the Ferris wheel tilting, Gu Li still heard his murmur. The moment the cabin door opened, two pairs of wings, one silver and one black, unfolded simultaneously.
They were suspended in mid-air amidst screams from below.
Gu Li stared in amazement at the jet-black wings behind him, the countless eyes all closed, hidden beneath the feathers, clearly a twisted and depraved image.
She couldn't help but move closer, and under He Shiyi's astonished gaze, she took his hand: "I just tried it subconsciously, I didn't expect it to actually exist."
He Shiyi remained stiff, letting her curiously stroke the wings behind him, and then look curiously behind him.
Excitement filled the air.
He relaxed as well, a smile gradually spreading across his eyes, and a corner of his heart softening.
Gu Li smiled, her long, light golden hair dancing wildly behind her, and shouted, "Are you still scared?"
He Shiyi shook his head slightly.
"Let's go back."
