Chapter 181 Shrinking?!

The group held their breath as they watched the deep crater created by the impact. The silver wings that accompanied the person's fall confirmed their identity.

Startled by the loud noise, He Wei was speechless for a moment. She was also stopped from going forward and could only open her eyes and cautiously look at the silent pit.

Someone sniffed and choked out, "No...nothing bad has happened, has it?"

Levi irritably ran his hand through his hair, his gaze sweeping across the darkness atop the building. The military couldn't have missed it, yet problems arose when they arrived.

Who did it?

Is this a conspiracy specifically designed to target the Eleventh Army?

A faint sound suddenly came from inside the building; it sounded like something was moving at the edge of the pit, and everyone's eyes immediately turned to it.

Cecil's expression was cold, her body tense, ready to provide treatment the moment Gu Li appeared.

The first thing that came into view was a hand wrapped in a sleeve. The owner of the hand was clinging to the edge, using all his strength to free himself.

Gu Li is still alive!

The crowd, who should have been happy, fell into an eerie silence. The hand wrapped in clothes was very strange, and the person who crawled out of the pit was also very strange.

He Wei asked hesitantly, "Was Miss Gu Li this... small before?"

As the words fell, Gu Li's figure appeared completely in front of everyone. Saide and Alfoseni had serious expressions, but their ears, which were pressed tightly against their hair, reflected their uneasy inner world.

Levi's fierce expression froze for a moment: "It's shrunk?"

The petite figure was encased in an oversized shirt, with only a small, light-gold head peeking out. Her face was covered in blood and dust as she huffed and puffed as she crawled out.

It is so moving that it breaks the heart to hear it and brings tears to the eyes to those who see it.

Levi snapped out of his daze, cursed under his breath, and suddenly a tentacle shot out from behind him like lightning, grabbing Gu Li, who was slowly moving on the ground, and dragging him away with a whooshing sound.

From the menacing darkness overhead, something simultaneously accelerated and rushed downwards.

Cecil knelt on one knee with a cold expression, lightly touching the ground with her hand. Countless vines rapidly expanded outward from her, quickly forming a huge barrier in the air.

It also blocked everyone's view.

They heard a loud crash as the ever-thickening vine barrier was smashed into an oval crater, and quickly lost its vitality, falling to the ground.

Levi leaped into the air using his wrists, pulled the petite figure wrapped up by the tentacles into his arms, and rushed outwards with her.

"Walk!"

The group rushed out of the abandoned building. The two loud noises that had just come from inside the building had already attracted the attention of the Third Army. As they boarded the vehicle, a small squad came to meet them.

Levi glanced back at the spot.

Alfonsini got up briskly and got out of the car, explained the situation to them, and most importantly...

"What? There's something going on inside, and you won't let us in! Aren't you 11th Army meddling too much?!"

The squad leader opposite Alfoseny suddenly shouted angrily.

Al, who put his hat back on and turned his head back, had no expression, as if he hadn't seen the gun pointed at him, and simply repeated himself.

“It’s very dangerous inside. Our regimental commander’s idea is to seal off this place first, report it to the military headquarters, and then send people in to investigate.”

After saying this, Alfoseni looked at the perfunctory expression on the squad leader's face, turned around and left.

Levi started the spaceship with a cigarette in his mouth, while Cecil held Gu Li with a loving expression next to him.

He said speechlessly, "Gu Li has only temporarily shrunk in size, he hasn't really turned into a little kid. You're exaggerating too much."

Cecil paused in feeding Gu Li the nutrient solution, looked up and glared at him, then tightened his arms around Gu Li, who was pale-faced and had his eyes closed, unwilling to face him.

"What do you know? Do you think you'll still have a chance after we get back?!"

Gu Li, who was resting with her eyes closed, felt a twitch on her forehead, and a bad premonition rose in her heart.

Levi hesitated noticeably for a moment: "Um, how about you drive later? Let me hold him for a bit too."

Gu Li: ...She knew it.

Fortunately, Cecil refused to save her without hesitation.

"No, you smoked when you came in, which is bad for Lili's health. Just stay put!"

The gazes of the people in the back row of the spaceship also fell on Cecil's arms. If the grown-up Gu Li was a symbol of paleness, slenderness, and strength, then the young Gu Li was undoubtedly a blonde, blue-eyed angel baby.

Her slightly chubby, pale face was dirty, half of which was hidden by messy, light golden hair, and her lifeless, sky-blue eyes stared blankly out the window.

He Wei suppressed the turmoil in her heart, and the communicator on her wrist vibrated.

Student A: Although it's quite inappropriate, I still have to say: So cute!!!

Student B: I'm applying to join the 11th Army right now!

Student C: This... even in its battle-damaged state, Lili is still adorable!

Student D: I can be either a sister or a younger sister!

He Wei: ...You guys calm down.

She turned off the communication and looked forward, just in time to meet the gaze of Gu Li, who had turned his head. He Wei's heart skipped a beat, and she silently thought: This is someone who can slice off the head of a missionary with one stroke...

But her hand moved involuntarily.

A voice, now smaller and more childlike, softly asked, "Have you touched enough?"

He Wei abruptly withdrew her hand from the top of the fluffy hair, coughed lightly, and looked away: "I've...touched enough."

After dropping off He Wei and the others in the safe zone, Gu Li looked up at He Wei, opening his mouth to say something, but his view was blocked by the roof of the car.

...Damn it, she's too short now.

The hand on her waist tightened silently, lifting her up. Gu Li, with a stern face, explained to He Wei outside, "...You've all seen it; the outside world is full of such dangers."

"If there are any other people willing to come, give me the list tomorrow, and someone will arrange your teams."

He Wei also straightened her expression and replied solemnly, "Yes!"

Military Affairs Building of the 11th Army in District 1.

Even though it was already dark, the entire building was still brightly lit. When Gu Li's spaceship landed, those who had already received the news were waiting on the roof.

Gu Li firmly refused Cecil's suggestion to carry her downstairs, climbed down from the spaceship herself, and walked forward with a straight face and her head held high.

They tried to repel every restless gaze.

In the end, Gu Li bumped headfirst into a pair of long, straight legs. She staggered back a step, covered her nose, and glared at He Shiyi, who had appeared silently.

She tilted her head back and struggled to meet those dark eyes: "What are you doing here?"

Didn't she specifically instruct Levy to only notify the medical department?

He Shiyi stared at her quietly for a while, then suddenly lowered himself, knelt on one knee to be at eye level with her, and touched the hair ribbon behind her head with his slender, pale hand.

"If I think about it, I can roughly sense what happened."

He reached out his hand to her in this gesture.

"You've worked hard, let's go."
