When Gu Li was escorted out, he was still a little dazed. Being the first person to be corrupted by Wang sounded incredibly unlucky.
Aside from the seemingly fragile wings on her back and the occasional inexplicable situations she found herself in, she hadn't noticed anything particularly unusual.
Gu Li swayed her feet as she walked toward Levi, who was waiting not far away. Levi was standing in front of the ward where she had just stopped, his octopus-like face, with its fluid texture, seemed a little serious as he spoke to the person inside.
Levi realized the girl was walking towards him, so he turned and walked towards her, holding something in his hand. He stopped in front of her, wriggling his tentacles, and looked her up and down, seemingly relieved: "Why did you take so long to go in? Cecil didn't do anything strange, did he?"
Gu Li turned her gaze away from the closed door and looked at Levi's obviously severed tentacle, subconsciously humming in agreement.
She was certain that Levi did not have this injury before she went in. At this moment, the circular cross-section of the severed wrist was shrinking, showing an eerie blackish-red color, but no blood was flowing out.
It was as if it had vanished into thin air.
Seemingly noticing her gaze, Levi smiled somewhat embarrassedly, retracted the severed wrist, and showed her what was wrapped around his other tentacle: "Don't tell Eric that I traded something with Cecil in front of you."
He was wrapped around a black branch, though it wasn't quite a branch. Gu Li looked at it a few more times before it gradually transformed into something else.
"This is... a sword?"
Gu Li hesitated. If there was nothing wrong with her eyes, then the problem was with the weapon. The first thing she saw was a strangely shaped tree branch!
Levi seemed a little surprised. He touched his flat head and nodded: "My most handy weapon is the knight's sword. I will exchange it when the time is right."
An octopus, large but no more than 1.7 meters tall, slightly brandished the knight's sword in its hand. Gu Li was momentarily dazzled by the skillful technique and even managed to discern a hint of handsomeness in Levi's composed demeanor.
Gu Li rubbed her eyes and followed Levi out. When she passed that room, she glanced at it again. Cecil was actually a weapons dealer on the side. No wonder she said she was omnipotent!
However, it's clear that you can't buy things with ordinary currency.
Walking on the dark streets, only the moonlight in the sky slightly illuminated the earth, giving this city, which seemed to have been forgotten and whose time had stopped in the Middle Ages, a layer of radiance.
As Gu Li passed by rows of dark, old houses, he always felt as if he were being watched by something, but he couldn't find the source. The newly grown moss by the roadside made a rustling sound when he stepped on it.
She subconsciously slowed her pace.
Hearing that he would come to buy weapons every now and then, Gu Li asked with some doubt: "Do weapons wear out so quickly here?"
The wind picked up at night, and the unusually lush trees along the roadside rustled softly, as if Gu Li could hear a cacophony of whispers.
She suddenly stopped in her tracks.
The giant octopus walking beside me seemed oblivious. Dozens of eyes on its flat head rolled around, revealing a desolate look. Its voice gradually blended into the night, becoming somewhat indistinct: "Because I have more hands now."
As Gu Li watched Levi finish speaking, all his arms stretched out, and countless metallic clanging sounds rang out from the mouthparts at the bottom of his body. The next moment, his body swelled up as if inflated.
The giant octopus quickly grew to be taller than a building, losing its cuteness as a small animal and becoming terrifying. At the same time, a tentacle was tied around Gu Li's waist, and in a flash, she was standing on Levi's head. She looked at the countless tentacles waving around her, her eyes filled with shock.
Isn't this a bit too cool? All you can see are huge, waving tentacles and countless gleaming swords wrapped around them.
Her gaze pierced through countless tentacles, finally landing on the numerous restless shadows lurking among the branches, under the eaves, and in the alleys not far away. She swallowed back the praise she was about to say, and a feeling of disgust and condescension rose in her heart.
It quickly filled her entire head. A whooshing sound came from behind her. The girl, standing atop Levi's head, which was as tall as a building, gazed into the distance with her sky-blue eyes, the edges of her clear pupils gradually becoming dark.
The girl's light golden hair stood out against the darkness, and from her slender, obviously malnourished back grew a pair of enormous wings that seemed disproportionate to her size.
Gu Li once again fell into a daze. Never before had she felt more clearly the wings that had grown behind her due to pollution. Those things hidden in the darkness were so annoying.
They don't deserve to be optimized by the eyes; they're all clearly ugly, yet they keep trying to conform to their own standards.
Gu Li ground his teeth.
She wanted to tear them to pieces.
The girl, who looked incredibly small standing atop the octopus's head, instinctively grinned, revealing two sharp canines. Her blood seemed to awaken from its slumber, surging through her body.
Gu Li's slender hand, where the veins used to be, was now covered with huge, surging lumps, as if something was trying to break out of the ground.
Her darkened eyes glanced at the back of her hand before finally settling on Levi, who had begun a one-sided killing spree. He was the king's personal guard, and even though he was severely corrupted, he could still retain his humanity.
Countless tentacles gracefully wielded swords in the air, each strike taking the life of an unknown monster from the darkness. The enormous, terrifying body acted like a wall, preventing those creatures from crossing it and leaving the street.
Gu Li silently watched the almost one-sided situation. The monsters that emerged from the darkness were like newborn beasts in front of Levi, no match for him at all. Yet, her body gradually tensed up.
She slowly raised her wrist, aimed her sharp fangs at the throbbing back of her hand, and bit down hard. At the same time, she flapped her wings and flew away from Levi. Her movements were slow, but with an exceptionally clear field of vision, she steadily avoided all attacks.
Bright red blood gushed from the bite wound on his arm. Some of it dripped down his fingertips and was snatched up by the ugly monster in the darkness, while most of it was subconsciously grabbed by Levi, who took advantage of his physical strength.
These scum, always born in the darkness, are not strong, but they are numerous, almost like flies trying to leave this place and go to a farther place to find fresh flesh and blood.
"These newly born scum aren't even low-level species, Miss, please don't worry, I'll take care of them right away... Miss!"
Levi tasted the unprecedentedly sweet blood, his body trembled, and he almost thought that something had happened to Gu Li under his protection. He quickly opened the eyes on the top of his head.
He saw the girl's demeanor as she left and realized something was wrong. Gu Li's behavior was too normal; he had forgotten that she had been corrupted. Humans who have just been corrupted but have retained their rationality will experience a period of confusion before they fully master their power.
At that time, the mindset of those who belong to different species will dominate!
We can't let her advance any further; if she goes beyond his clearing range, the young lady, who has no combat experience, will get hurt!
