A tremendous sense of crisis rose from behind, and Gu Li's outstretched wings suddenly trembled as it flew away with all its might in a distant direction.
Within seconds, all the scales on her body popped up.
But that thing was incredibly fast. If you considered the speed of a guqin's flight to that of a bird, then that thing was dozens of times faster than an airplane.
Gu Li subconsciously gathered his blood behind him and struggled to resist, but was swept away by an irresistible force and plunged into the street.
Barnacles that couldn't dodge in time were smashed into a bloody pulp by the chestnut and the thing behind it. The silvery-white alien creature lay in the deep crater created by the impact, the blood that had condensed on its back flowing uncontrollably all over the ground.
For the first time, Gu Li experienced the sensation of uncontrollably vomiting blood from deep within her mouth. The sweet, metallic taste quickly filled her mouth, but she had no time to pay attention to it.
With trembling paws, she tentatively reached behind her, revealing an oval-shaped bloody hole. She endured the pain and the tingling sensation on her scalp.
As Gu Li cautiously probed deeper inside, he could almost hear the heartbeat emanating from his chest, each beat carrying an eerie difference.
She swallowed the metallic taste in her mouth, opened her eyes wide, and looked at the strange object in the blood hole. The heartbeat of that thing was inside her chest.
Something must have gone in!
The thing was constantly squeezing forward, trying to go up through the heart and into the brain. Gu Li felt a crushing pain in all the bones of his body, and the blood flowing from the ground slowly formed a rope.
They tightly strangled her neck.
While using his ability to block that thing, Gu Li's eyes began to glaze over as he was strangled, making it difficult to breathe, and the world he could see in front of him became patches of light.
She struggles alone in the old, desolate streets, surrounded by barnacles that wriggle closer and closer, while inside her body is a strange, alien creature trying to take control of her body.
Seemingly realizing that its path upwards was blocked, the thing stirred restlessly and let out a clear, ethereal hiss, a sound that seemed to resonate directly in Gu Li's mind.
The blood-red rope around her neck loosened for a moment, and the thing was overjoyed, instantly thrashing its body as it tried to swim upwards to the position it needed.
Gu Li gasped for breath with her mouth open. She was still alive despite all this, all thanks to her newfound, mutant body and its strong self-healing ability.
It might allow her to linger on for a little longer.
The familiar buzzing sound suddenly reminded her of the huge, pale yellow, murky abscess on the whale's head, and that it was something like that trying to get into her head.
With limited arm flexibility, no matter how deep she reached behind, she couldn't pull out the culprit. Her eyes were already blurry as she looked at the barnacle that had appeared beside her. This body made it impossible for her to even manage a bitter smile.
Barnacles...
The barnacles that devoured the giant whale...
Gu Li thought he might be going crazy, so he grabbed the nearest barnacle with a snap, closed his eyes, and held it to his chest.
That is, where that thing should be.
The blood-stained vertical pupils stared intently at the chest. Before arriving at the city of alien species, all these extremely greedy barnacles had attached themselves to the giant whale.
She initially thought the barnacles were looking for a chance to leave, but now she realizes there's another possibility behind such a large number of barnacles making this choice.
There must be something else on that giant whale that attracted them.
Gu Li's chest heaved with difficulty. The feeling of watching the disgusting barnacles devour the scales and flesh on her chest was not pleasant, and she let out a low scream.
She took a huge gamble.
If her guess was right, she could escape with her life from that thing; if she was wrong…
That is, instead of dying after being possessed by that thing, it became being killed by that thing and barnacles at the same time.
Now, Gu Li really regrets it; he shouldn't have chosen such a close place to watch the play.
She felt her chest being torn open, and the thing tightly blocking her neck began to struggle violently. Gu Li felt as if her heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys were about to be crushed by that thing.
The only good news is that the barnacles actually worked.
The barnacles, wriggling along the hem of their skirts, probed in, precisely catching the object with their fine, dense barbs, and then slowly pulled it away.
Gu Li breathed a sigh of relief. Only when a pale yellow, jelly-like mass was pulled out of his chest did he release his last bit of strength. The rope around his neck turned into a pool of blood, flowing mottledly to both sides.
The real meaning is that Gu Li, who was exposed to the wind from both sides, gradually felt cold. She heard wriggling sounds all around her, which were countless barnacles being attracted by flesh and blood and gradually approaching.
She took a deep breath, and even felt it, with one hand covering the bloody hole in her chest, flapping her wings to their limit, and barely managed to land crookedly on the roof where she had just landed.
His unfocused vertical pupils stared at the still-lingering black mist in the east of the city, and he gradually closed his eyes.
Gu Li closed her eyes peacefully, knowing she was dreaming, and that when she opened them she would see that enormous alien creature again.
But she was so tired that she needed a good night's sleep right away.
I hope she has a chance to wake up.
In a daze, she felt as if she was being dragged by something, and a cold liquid was poured into the corner of her mouth.
