Will he be killed in Chapter 201?

The surrounding environment was unusually quiet. Despite the sound of breathing all around, not a single person made a sound in the huge square.

With her eyes covered, Gu Li grabbed He Shiyi's wrist with her other hand and stepped on his shoe with her toes. Gu Li used about 80% of her strength in this step.

She clearly heard He Shiyi let out a short breath beside her ear, but quickly swallowed it back. The hand she was holding suddenly tightened its grip on her wrist as well.

The triumphant smile on her lips hadn't even fully bloomed yet.

The icy fingertips pressed against her skin suddenly tightened, and then she was lifted straight up, her feet naturally releasing their pressure on He Shiyi.

Red, who was being led around and watched the whole thing unfold, was somewhat bewildered.

He was certain that this man was not a resident of the east side of the city. The middle-aged man behind him was timid and looked at He Shiyi with barely concealed fear in his eyes.

Reed felt a strong sense of empathy; those two were definitely in cahoots!

As for why the two started competing with each other as soon as they met, Reed tends to think that they are just superficial teammates and might trip each other up or stab each other in the back at any time.

Reed's big, round eyes darted back and forth between the two men, a smile gradually spreading across his face. He knew he'd better run away if they started fighting.

His eyes looked expectantly at the huge statue in the center of the square, where the full moon seemed to serve as a backdrop, completely enveloping the statue and everyone in the square.

Gu Li looked around warily, gritting her teeth as she said, "Are you done yet? It's about time you put me down, isn't it?"

He Shiyi's dark eyes calmly met the statue's gaze. Upon hearing this, he lifted Gu Li into the air and shook her: "Can you see clearly from the crowd? Do you want me to put you down now?"

"Ah, I forgot you can't see right now."

Gu Li opened his mouth with a gloomy expression.

He Shiyi: "Hiss—"

With the teeth marks on his neck, his dark eyes, like a disturbed pool of water, looked at the chestnut in his hand with a hint of disbelief.

"Did you pick up any bad habits at Bellamy's, like rabies?"

Gu Li, with her headband still covering her eyes, immediately spotted He Shiyi and gave him a provocative smile: "So now you've caught my infection."

He Shiyi wanted to say something more, but his expression suddenly turned serious. He looked towards the statue, where a very obvious halo shone from all around it.

The moon, which seemed to have fallen into Bellamy's city, dimmed in an instant, while the statue seemed to absorb all the moonlight, its entire body radiating an incredibly soft light.

In a daze, Gu Li heard that voice again.

This time the sound was closer and clearer.

“Look at me, child.”

The melodious music started inexplicably, and Gu Li, as if possessed, took off the headband from his eyes and his gaze fell on the statue of Nicholas.

Whether it was her imagination or not, the torso of the statue seemed to faintly glow with a luster similar to that of a human.

She reached up and grabbed her neck, forcibly suppressing the urge to meet the gaze of that thing. Her eyes subconsciously swept around, and everyone in the square stared at the statue with fervent enthusiasm and reverence.

The eyes gradually turned the same color as the stone statues.

Gu Li finally found the 11th Army squad that had lost contact since entering Bellamy, and Levi and Cecil both seemed to be doing well.

Levi was holding two people with one hand, while Cecil was busy pouring something into Levi's mouth. The dark red liquid made Gu Li's gaze pause slightly.

Are they also not allowed to look at the statues at will?

Gu Li's gaze swept over the figure hidden in the shadows not far away, and finally landed on He Shiyi.

He Shiyi's unfathomable eyes were focused intently on the statue, his pale, sharply defined face expressionless, as if he were carefully discerning something.

When Gu Li looked over, he didn't turn his head, but simply reached out a hand and turned Gu Li's head in a different direction, directing his gaze towards a certain spot on the statue.

Have you seen this before?

Gu Li stared blankly at the statue's fingers. What was so interesting about fingers, except for their extraordinary realism...?

etc.

Her gaze lingered on that lifelike fingertip, on which a drop of pale red liquid clung, shimmering with a soft glow.

Gu Li's gaze was fixed on it, and he unconsciously rubbed his fingers together, as if the sensation of the dried pale red powder from the pond last night still lingered on his fingertips.

She suddenly said, "They succeeded. This statue is now Nicholas."

It's just not quite complete yet.

The mysterious church's summoning plan was clearly going very smoothly; Nicholas's torso was still speckled with red liquid, something Gu Li had seen before.

"At the Red Bee base in Grantham, the unfinished head is submerged in a pool of pale red water."

What exactly do they want to do?

He Shiyi led her slowly backward, and at the same time, warm white mist surged out from around the statue, enveloping the entire square.

Reid, held by Gu Li, had no choice but to retreat with the two of them. When they reached the edge of the square, he was still struggling unwillingly.

"Let me go! This is disrespectful to the Mother Goddess!"

After struggling in vain, all she could do was say bitterly, "Being so far away, we couldn't possibly get the Mother Goddess's blessing. It's all your fault!"

Suddenly, a hand reached out from the side, grabbed Red's hair, and pulled him out of the mist. Red struggled to get back, but the slender hand behind his head was like an unshakeable iron clamp, and all his struggles were in vain.
