Dead End

Dead End

Lin Yun and Sui Yuan share dreams.

They all wanted to save the woman, but no matter how they tried, they couldn't even touch her body. They could only watch helplessly as she sank to the bottom of the pool, while they themselves floated on the surface, unable to even create the slightest ripple.

Strangely enough, Lin Yun couldn't touch any physical objects here, but the falling snowflakes could actually land on her. They were icy cold and hard to melt, and before long, her body was covered with snow-white ice crystals.

When will the snow stop here?

She sat upright by the pool, gazing blankly at the gray sky where huge snowflakes were fluttering.

The snowflakes are still falling.

At this moment, Lin Yun only wanted to save her.

This idea almost "blinded" her; no matter how much time had passed, she wanted to save her. Call it naive or fanciful, it didn't change her mind.

In the past, she was too weak and needed to suppress all thoughts unrelated to survival. Meddling in other people's business was never her principle back then, but now she no longer needs to do so.

The snow fell heavier and heavier.

It was unclear how long Lin Yun had been standing by the pool; he was practically frozen solid.

In a daze, a series of hurried footsteps approached.

A dozen or so figures gathered around the pool.

"Help! Why would she do something like this? Wait a little longer, one day..."

Lin Yunwang's hearing was once again taken away, and she could not hear any sound. Everything was almost swallowed up by their panic. She could only watch the "mute play" being performed by a dozen villagers in front of her. Then her consciousness became blurred, and she collapsed in the snow again.

"Junior Sister Yunwang, you're awake!"

Two slightly familiar voices came, making Lin Yun feel a little dazed, as if he had entered another dream.

"Senior Brother? Senior Brother Zhou? The two of you..."

Her voice was hoarse, but her eyes had regained their clarity. She glanced around, confirming she was still in Qingfeng Town, and couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. If she had returned to Jingyin Sect, finding out the truth here would have been incredibly difficult.

"Yunmei, have some water!" Sanqi came over and handed her a glass of warm water.

Thank you.

Sang Zhao took the water glass from Lin Yun and then used his other hand to help her stand up. Once she was in a stable position, he handed her the water.

The girl's affectionate address caused Zhou Hengyan to furrow his brow almost imperceptibly. When did this man become so close to his junior sister?

Sanqi happened to catch Zhou Hengyan's scrutinizing gaze and thought that she was interfering with their conversation, so she said, "Young masters, you two keep Yunmei company while I go check on the medicine she's brewing."

As he spoke, he was about to lift the curtain and go out.

"Ah, Sanqi, wait a minute." Lin Yunwang called out to her as she was about to leave. "I owe my life to you and the people of Qingfeng Town. I am deeply grateful."

After she woke up, the events outside of her dream gradually returned to her mind, and she knew that it was Sanqi and the others who had saved her.

"It's nothing! Just remember to take me up the mountain next time. See, you didn't listen to me this time, and now you've suffered the consequences!" She said this and quickly slipped out the door.

"How come she runs so fast?" Lin Yun wanted to ask Sui Yuan where she was now, but she ran too fast and didn't give him a chance to ask. "Senior Brother Sang, I was planning to pick you up myself on the day you were released from confinement. I didn't expect this mission to take so long, and that you would find me here."

Her eyes flickered slightly as she glanced at Zhou Hengyan, silently asking him why he was also there.

Zhou Hengyan smiled slightly, "I was on a mission in Liuzhou, which is next to Jeju. I heard that Senior Brother Sang was coming to find you, and since the mission was almost over, I came too."

"Oh right, Junior Sister Nangong is here too."

No sooner had the words been spoken than a slender young woman pushed open the door and entered, looking around at the furnishings in the room. But there was nothing that caught her eye, so she made a "tsk tsk" sound of admiration.

"Senior Sister Nangong, did you also happen to be on a mission nearby and happen to run into Senior Brother Sang?"

"Of course not, who cares where you are? I just happened to be going home on business and heard that a young cultivator had come to Qingfeng Town in Jeju, so I came to check on him. Who knew that he was lying in bed looking so miserable, unconscious for three days."

Lin Yunwang didn't care about her sarcasm; on the contrary, she was delighted by her arrival. She looked at Nangong Suiqing with sparkling eyes and said, "Good senior sister, my good senior sister, it's so good that you came!"

This sight made Nangong Suiqing blush. She touched the goosebumps on her arm and said, "Why are you being so attentive... I won't think much of you just because of your sweet words."

The girl chuckled and said pitifully, "Isn't the Nangong family in charge of governing Jeju? I'm looking for some information, and only you, Senior Sister, can help me get it. Please!"

She thought: if she could access the information about Luming Village and Qingfeng Town through her senior sister Nangong's channels, she would surely find much more information than she had previously investigated.
