Yun Wei was not really angry.
Even out of consideration for Sid and Isaac, he couldn't possibly have any real conflict with the Grand Duke of Bethlehem.
He simply noticed the other person's restraint and wanted to shorten the distance between them in the quickest way possible.
Yun Wei's change of expression was so fast that Silver couldn't help but be a little surprised.
He couldn't help but think of the unpredictable Emperor in the palace.
So naturally, his impression of the Asian man next to him worsened.
He cleared his throat and said in a low voice, "Yesterday, Sid and I talked about some personal matters..."
He was about to explain the whole story when Yun Wei became quite impatient. "Get to the point."
Silver had seen many arrogant and rude people, but he had never seen anyone like Yun Wei, who clearly possessed excellent manners yet chose to treat others rudely.
Etiquette is the feather of nobility; they all cherish their feathers and know how to conceal themselves well.
He felt that his already dwindling dignity had been brutally trampled upon once again.
His face turned pale and then flushed, while Yun Wei, out of the corner of his eye, was already preparing to turn and leave.
"Please wait." He gritted his teeth and said bluntly, "Yesterday, I asked Sid to commit suicide with me, but I never expected him to agree!"
A double suicide pact?!
Suddenly, Yun Wei, who was handling the situation with ease but was feeling utterly bored, perked up.
His heels nearly rotated 180 degrees, and even though he was inwardly scratching his head, he maintained his previous indifference. "And then? You're actually secretly pleased, aren't you? Why pretend like that?"
“No, that’s not it! I did get what I wanted, but I’m not as happy as I expected. Instead, I’m very sad and guilty.” Having learned from his previous experience, Silver said succinctly, “Anyway, if I’m not around one day, I hope you can keep an eye on Sid.”
"Don't let him really, really..."
Silver looked quite conflicted; he felt like he was about to break down again.
"This is a matter of course, you don't need to remind me," Yun Wei said coldly.
He forced a smile, preventing it from appearing on his lips.
Silver looked dejected, his eyes dimmed. "I really love Sid. I want to grow old with him."
"But I can't do it."
"I'm sorry about what happened earlier. I'm very sensitive and insecure, so I'm not good at taking jokes."
The other party's tone was so sincere that Yun Wei had to put away his teasing thoughts.
He thought for a moment, then slowly untied the strip of cloth wrapped around his left palm. As the black cloth loosened, the dense array of knife marks was revealed.
"What are you doing?" Silver asked in surprise.
At that moment, a sudden sense of panic welled up inside him for no apparent reason.
Yun Wei did not answer. He raised his palm, facing the tall, thin man in front of him, and quietly closed his eyes.
He is the tyrant of everything—past and future.
Through "our" eyes, he was able to glimpse traces of fate in a daze.
Those fleeting clues are the shadows that exist between light and shadow, the infinite possibilities that lurk between reality and virtuality.
Soon, he located Silver's presence among the countless flashing images.
"What is it..." Fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead, but his expression was relaxed.
However, Silver's feelings were exactly the opposite.
The Grand Duke of Bethlehem felt as if he had been forced into a space with prisms on all six sides. In his ears, the whole world seemed to be trembling and buzzing incessantly.
He was clearly unsteady on his feet, yet he was unable to move.
Just then, the Eastern man standing nearby opened his eyes.
The other party's dark pupils flashed with a strange black light. As the light swirled, endless starlight bloomed and vanished, and countless stars spun and fell.
Yun Wei said, "Listen carefully, Silver, you will live a long time."
Even a thousand years later, his eyes still reflected the loving figures of the Grand Duke of Gilded Age and the Grand Duke of Bethlehem.
These are candies with an amazingly long shelf life, so you can enjoy them without worry.
...
When Silver came to his senses, Yun Wei was already quietly wrapping strips of cloth around his palm, one after another.
The other person looked like they had fallen into a pond; they were soaking wet, and even their face was pale.
“I’m sorry, but I still want to know,” he couldn’t help but ask, “what exactly happened just now?”
“It’s nothing, I’ve forgotten too, but it’s definitely not a bad thing.” Yun Wei suddenly looked up and smiled brightly. “Sid is my best friend, and he loves you very much. So, Silver, let’s get along well.”
The mage snapped his fingers, and the aura of the Purification spell appeared around him, quickly restoring his terrible appearance.
“Oh, of course.” Silver nodded silently.
He tried hard to recall the moments before, but found his mind blank.
Without a doubt, something must have happened just now.
Just as he was about to start overthinking, he heard Yun Wei say, "I'm also very insecure. If we're talking about sensitivity, I'm probably even more so than you."
“There used to be an unfillable black hole in my heart. Every day when I opened my eyes, all my strength was sucked away by it.”
"Then I naturally drifted through the rest of the day in a daze, feeling utterly hopeless."
"To live is my only remaining obsession. It's such a contradiction. I know I won't be happy even if I live, but I still stubbornly want to live. This obsession is so strong that it even affects the will of the universe."
Silver couldn't help but frown. "What are you talking about? I don't understand at all."
I can't say I don't understand at all, but I feel a little lost.
He once thought that being able to stay by Sid's side would be enough.
But after he got together with Sid, he greedily wanted it to last forever.
Yun Wei shrugged and waved to Isaac, who was standing at the cabin door. "Maybe this is just a side effect of coming out of the monastery. It's okay, I'm just cheering you on. After all, you treat me like a 'big brother'!"
Being a confidant is his newest profession.
He didn't know what was so good about him, but it seemed that everyone would subconsciously come to him to confide their troubles.
Perhaps this is the trouble that belongs to the strong. Yun Wei put on what he thought was a cool expression and thought to himself.
He waved to Silver, "Alright, I should get going. Anyway, don't stay alone and overthink things. Sid doesn't mind if you're in the study or lab with him."
"Ah, I just... didn't want to bother him," Silver quickly explained.
“This is your own business.” Yun Wei had already discovered that it was really satisfying to use Empress Catherine’s various golden quotes. “Besides, isn’t that how partners are? Drawing strength from each other and giving back strength to each other.”
"When one force is circulated and reused, everyone will have their own force."
"Love is a 'divine rule' that transcends all laws; it can come from nothing and does not need to abide by any known laws of conservation."
At this point, Yun Wei surprisingly used an aria, which had been absent for a long time, and concluded arrogantly.
After he finished singing, he jumped down from the windowsill and landed in Isaac's reliable embrace.
Sturdy, warm, safe, comfortable...
Tolerance, longing, understanding, expectation...
All sorts of positive feelings and energy flowed freely with their touch, making him so happy he felt like he could fly.
"What are you saying?" He could never tire of looking at his lover's eyes and brows; just a glance from him was enough to make his heart flutter.
That was a silent domineering desire to occupy his entire attention.
Yun Wei tiptoed, hooked her arm around the other's neck, and complained softly, "Isa, why are you so jealous?"
"Good to know." Isaac raised an eyebrow, but his gaze drifted downwards, landing on Yun Wei's thin red lips.
In the rosy morning light, the two of them kissed passionately, oblivious to everyone around them.
This is true.
Even the black hole in Yun Wei's heart, which he always thought could never be filled, was unintentionally stretched to the point of explosion by the love between the two of them.
The newly born nebula was so dazzling; it was a microcosm born in his heart in the name of love.
Under the dazzling starlight, where the black hole once stood, only a bloody wound remained, a testament to his past, a place once overgrown with thorns.
Time flows on relentlessly, and day and night alternate.
At the end of the long night, a dawn that moves us to tears will eventually appear.
