Chapter 48 He thought

He likes Isaac.

After uttering these words, which he had repeated countless times in his mind, Yun Wei finally felt a great sense of relief.

Although he really wanted to accept Isaac's offer immediately, he was worried that his feelings were not worthy of Isaac's.

"Am I really qualified to be the other person's only choice?" Yun Wei asked himself.

Following the usual pattern of internal mental exhaustion, he should have been swallowed up again by the black hole of his inferiority complex. But at that moment, he saw a radiant light in Isaac's eyes.

Upon hearing his confession, the other person's expression underwent a vivid transformation from serious to joy in an instant.

The light of the soul is vibrant and radiant.

The light was so dazzling, even more radiant than the sunset outside the window, that it overshadowed all the world's glitz and glamour, forcefully interrupting his reverie.

The knight before him was gazing at him with deep affection, his handsome face brimming with genuine joy and delight. He didn't ask if it was true or not, as if whatever he said would be believed without a doubt.

This side of Isaac made it impossible for him to look away.

Yun Wei thought that perhaps, in this situation, they should kiss.

If Isaac were to lower his head at this moment, he would surely cooperate obediently, close his eyes, and meet the other's full lips.

Sure enough, the next moment, Isaac moved.

Listening to the slow rubbing of the fabric, Yun Wei felt a little nervous. He decided not to resist and to completely hand over the initiative to the other party.

Unexpectedly, Isaac simply hugged him.

But this hug was different from any of the previous ones.

With a gentle pull of his arm, he was lifted off the hard wooden door behind him and fell into the other's cool yet warm embrace. The familiar scent of wood instantly made him let down his guard and relax.

Isaac's left arm passed under Yun Wei's right arm, and his palm rested on Yun Wei's left shoulder. His broad right palm slowly covered the back of Yun Wei's head and gently rubbed the ends of his hair.

The opponent's tall stature was a significant advantage at this moment, allowing Yun Wei to comfortably bury his head in the opponent's broad chest and even place his entire weight on the opponent.

He heard Isaac say, "Great."

The voice boomed in my ears, as if it had its own reverberation. It was still the same sunny tone, but it seemed to have a nasal quality, making it sound somewhat tender and lazy.

Yun Wei was stunned for a moment, then realized that the other person was referring to the fact that they were mutually in love.

The other party is too reserved and restrained; before he truly agrees, the most he can do is hug.

This made him feel a little itchy inside.

After a brief silence, Yun Wei slowly raised his right arm and gently embraced the knight in front of him.

He nuzzled against the other's broad chest and closed his eyes in comfort.

It turns out they liked each other.

"That's wonderful," Yun Wei thought to himself.

...

After they talked things out, the changes in their lives were quite noticeable.

During the day, they spent significantly more time together.

This did not reduce their efficiency. On the contrary, by eliminating unnecessary mental strain, both of them were able to calm down and focus on what they needed to do.

At night, except when they were sleeping, their bedroom doors were no longer tightly closed.

Isaac could openly exercise in the living room, generously showing off his enviable physique to his master, or asking Yunwei a few questions he encountered while learning the Azure Language; while Yunwei would sit at the table, occasionally asking Isaac questions with the cryptic writing style of the documents in his hand, or pulling Isaac together to meditate before going to sleep.

Of course, the necessary "maintenance" of Isaac's body has been put back on the agenda, but for Yun Wei, it has become a sweet torment.

He liked Isaac so much that even calming down when facing the other's body became extremely difficult.

Sometimes, Yun Wei would think wistfully that Isaac could have been more proactive and less rigid. But then he would think that it was precisely because the other was so resolute and restrained that he was falling more and more hopelessly in love with him.

...

In the blink of an eye, it was the tenth day since they enrolled. That evening, they would face the final trial.

Yun Wei got up very early, and on his way to the classroom, he kept staring at Isaac with a smile, which made even the usually elegant knight unable to suppress his curiosity.

Isaac asked him, "Cloud, has something good happened?"

Yun Wei blinked, then decided to share it with Isaac: "I had a dream last night, and I dreamt about you—"

The knight's pace suddenly slowed, his expression still serious, but his voice carried a barely perceptible hint of shyness. "Oh? How honored. So... what did I do in my dream?"

"Ahem, you really want to know?" Yun Wei raised an eyebrow, turned his head to look at the other person, and his smile deepened again.

He really loves Isaac's pure and innocent nature!

"Yes, of course." Isaac's eyes darkened; he really wanted to get closer to Yun. Facing such subtle teasing every day, he found it difficult to control his increasingly overwhelming emotions.

“I dreamt that—” Seeing that the other person’s eyes became evasive after being teased, Yun Wei felt guilty and stopped being mysterious. He said, “We became two towering trees, with lush branches and leaves, tightly intertwined.”

"But what actually makes me laugh is... sorry, I'm getting a bit incoherent. I must have been dreaming when I remembered what you said that day, 'Let's fall together'."

So in his dream, he saw the two of them transform into intertwined trees, planted in a tree pit, tightly entwined with each other from the roots.

Perhaps the story wasn't actually that funny, but he just really wanted to share it with the other person. Even though the two of them were practically inseparable, Yun Wei still felt a strong urge to share it from the bottom of his heart.

"Hmm." See? He was overthinking things again. Isaac responded casually, somewhat helplessly. "So when can we 'fall together'?"

In the brilliant morning glow, the tall and straight knight stood tall, his eyes still resolute and affectionate, but the silent accusation in his words sounded particularly aggrieved.

Yun Wei's heart skipped a beat again.

He stopped where he was and asked, "Are you in a hurry?"

“No, I just want to confess to you.” Isaac stared at him intently. This time, his tone was no longer comical. “Yun, I like you. I want to be with you every day.”

"I see." Yun Wei was stunned.

He closed his eyes and pondered for a moment, then leaned closer to Isaac and said, "My answer is—anytime you want."

Taking advantage of the other's inattention, he tiptoed and quickly kissed Isaac's chin.
