Chapter 247 Nightingale

"Call upon your companions with all your might, for they are here," Joshua said to Yun Wei, pointing to the void before him.

If Yun Wei hadn't recently witnessed the other party's unpredictable methods firsthand, he would have truly thought the blond man in front of him was a madman who had appeared out of nowhere.

He glanced at the other man with a hint of disbelief, then stood atop the pile of gravel and called out, "Brother Xie? Richie?"

“No, you need to use more force!” Joshua corrected.

He exaggeratedly shook his monk's robe, clenched his fist, and made a gesture, "You have to speak loudly, make your voice heard. You have to believe in the bond between you!"

Having no other choice, Yun Wei took a deep breath and repeated his actions.

This time, he used all his strength, which caused rubble and gravel to fall down in a clatter.

There was still no movement in the void, which startled a group of people in the distance who turned around in dissatisfaction.

The exit of the council hall was blocked by collapsed boulders, and they were gathered around Master Sid, discussing the best excavation plan.

Upon seeing this, Yun Wei quickly apologized from afar.

He turned around, intending to confront Joshua, but saw the other man with his palms pressed against his cheeks, listening intently to something.

When their eyes met, the blond man suddenly raised his other hand, put his index finger to his lips, and made a shushing gesture.

Yun Wei had no choice but to stand beside Isaac and sneer in a low voice, "I feel like I might go crazy before he does."

Isaac didn't say anything, but just smiled and pursed his lips.

Yun Wei couldn't help but glare at the knight. "What are you laughing at? There's something wrong with your eyes."

Goodness, in just a short while, he's already picked up Joshua's catchphrase.

"It's nothing." Isaac tried to bluff his way out, but ultimately gave in to Yun Wei's glare. "Okay, don't be angry when you hear this... I just suddenly think you're quite cute."

Although his master, under his instigation, behaved in a shocking and unconventional manner, he also revealed a side of him that he had never seen before.

An exceptionally cute side.

"Huh?" Yun Wei stared at Isaac in disbelief.

Sure enough, it wasn't him who went mad; it was the whole world that went mad.

Just then, Joshua's voice suddenly came: "Wow, your bond is truly extraordinary. I've found them. Come here, Yunwei, shout this way again."

But then the other person pulled out a piece of parchment from somewhere, rolled it up casually, and used it as a makeshift megaphone.

"Is this really going to work? Don't lie to me." Yun Wei sighed, resignedly taking the paper tube from the other person's hand, and called out weakly, "Hey, Brother Xie, Richie, can you hear me?"

After doing all this, he calmed down and listened for a while, but the surroundings remained quiet, and he still gained nothing.

"What am I doing?" Yun Wei thought with amusement, but his hand holding the paper tube fell to his sides.

Even though he had already learned to accept everything during the apocalypse, he now finds himself increasingly having unrealistic expectations.

He looked at Joshua, smiled wryly, and said, "It seems—"

The other person suddenly interrupted him, "Shh! Listen!"

Yun Wei had no choice but to listen again.

In that fraction of a second, he actually caught a faint dragon's roar.

The sound was clear and melodious, piercing through the clouds.

“Really, I heard it…” Yun Wei looked up in disbelief and whispered to Joshua, “What should I do next?”

The blond man did not answer, but simply raised his right arm.

His palms faced the empty void, his fingers slightly spread, and the grooves on the back of his hands proved that he was exerting force.

The golden divine runes reappeared out of thin air, calmly dancing and rotating in mid-air, accompanied by solemn chanting. Yun Wei clearly saw that at the center of the runes, a silver sphere of light was gradually taking shape.

After an unknown amount of time, a blinding light appeared, and two tall men appeared before them.

It was Xie Mulang and Richard who had previously entered the unknown spatial rift.

However, after only a short while, both of them looked radiant, and Richard had even changed his clothes.

That neat, all-black outfit made it obvious that it belonged to Xie Mulang.

Before Yun Wei could speak, Richard said, "Three days and three nights have passed, little guys, why are you still trapped in this tower?"

Silver Dragon lazily swept over the surrounding rubble, his nonchalant demeanor reminiscent of when Yun Wei and Silver Dragon first met at the academy.

Although he was incredibly curious, Yun Wei told him the truth: "Actually, it was less than half an hour after you left."

From the moment the explosion occurred, time here was almost frozen under Joshua's "Great Prophecy," and the minute hand on the pocket watch had only climbed a mere twenty-three notches.

"Hmm?" Richard's silver eyes flickered, clearly puzzled.

It was at this moment that he noticed the serene blond man beside him. "By the way, who is this?"

“Oh, he is, he is…” Yun Wei didn’t know how to introduce Joshua to the other party.

After all, in his previous descriptions, he and Isaac were undoubtedly on opposite sides as "enemies of God".

But Joshua's strange behavior makes it impossible to discern his stance.

So much happened in that brief, frozen moment that he had to have a private talk with Isaac first.

"Xiao Yunwei, what just happened?" Just as he was in a daze, Sid and Silver walked over.

The golden divine runes were so powerful that the two had to stop their work there and come here to meet.

Behind the two was Bishop Joshua, whose face was contorted in a terrifying grimace.

For a moment, almost everyone looked at Yun Wei.

Only Yun Wei himself knew that even he was completely baffled.

"To be honest, I haven't quite figured it out myself yet." He could only look at the person who started it all and suggest, "Could you please introduce yourself again?"

Joshua blinked innocently and nodded to the group, saying, "My name is Joshua, nice to meet you all."

Compared to the previous one, this self-introduction was incredibly rudimentary.

But given his Christian robes and the solemn inscriptions he had previously displayed, no one could fail to understand Joshua's true identity.

Almost everyone wore a solemn expression, except for Sid, who remained calm.

The alchemist master calmly performed a standard noble bow and said to the other party with grace and poise, "It is a pleasure to meet Your Majesty. I am Sid from Alchemy City, and I look forward to welcoming you to my humble abode at any time."

Joshua nodded slightly and replied, "Very well, I will gladly go."

The two were speaking in a classical and elegant ancient language, which was also the ceremonial language of the Radiant Church.

The bishop of Yorkshire, who was standing nearby, listened with trepidation.

One morning, nearly fifty years after he began to act arbitrarily, just as he was about to do something reckless, he suddenly bumped into his long-lost direct superior. Only he himself could understand the unease he felt.

What's even more terrifying is that not only has the same appearance, but the other party's behavior is even more rampant and bizarre than before.

What he envied most was that the other person had absolutely no ugly marks of betrayal.

If the other party had acted a few minutes earlier, he wouldn't have unwittingly signed a contract with the Abyss Apostle.

He had every reason to suspect that the other party was doing it on purpose.

Joshua, the nightingale of Tiris.

Perhaps only he and Nicholas knew just how terrifying the other party truly was.

Look at his current situation.

Lord Fusri has disappeared without a trace, and the contract imprinted on his soul torments him with the divine power within him at all times.

These foolish lambs seem unaware that Joshua is evil itself.

“Since it’s not clear right now, let’s talk about it at my house later.” Sid turned to the others and said, his gaze finally settling on Isaac. “Sir Knight, there’s a thin rock wall over there. Once we break it open, we can get out.”

Isaac naturally understood what the other party meant, and immediately took down the mithril greatsword from behind him, saying, "I'm happy to serve you."
