The moment Granny Yang saw Xiao Wenjing, her eyes lit up as if she had seen a new hope. She thought to herself, if her eldest son was willing to stand up for her, then Shen Yunsheng probably wouldn't dare to lay a hand on her so easily.
"Son! You...you must help me!" Granny Yang cried out to her eldest son again, only stopping when she saw Shen Yunsheng.
Shen Yunsheng looked at Granny Yang coldly, without the slightest sympathy or pity in her eyes. She knew Granny Yang's character well and knew that her crying and wailing at this moment was only to gain sympathy.
"Mother, what's wrong?" Xiao Wenjing asked with concern as he rushed forward to support his mother when he saw her crying.
Granny Yang grabbed Xiao Wenjing's hand and cried, "My son, you must stand up for me! That vicious woman Shen Yunsheng dares to accuse me of embezzling other people's property."
Xiao Wenjing's face turned extremely ugly upon hearing his mother's words. He looked at his son and wife, then at Granny Yang, unsure of what to do.
"Mother! You...you should apologize to Sheng'er!" After hesitating for a long time, Xiao Wenjing finally persuaded her gently.
On one side is his mother, and on the other side are his son and his wife. No matter which side he chooses to help, he will offend people.
Hearing this, Granny Yang cried and screamed even harder.
"Why should I give in to that vicious woman? I am your mother!"
Xiao Wenjing sighed helplessly.
"Mother, please stop making a scene. You were the one who was in the wrong."
Seeing that her son wouldn't help her, Granny Yang stomped her feet in anger.
"Fine, you're all in cahoots, and I'm the outsider!"
After saying that, he stomped his feet in anger.
Xiao Wenjing felt helpless watching his mother's cursing and swearing.
He knew his mother had always been stubborn.
But this time, the mother was indeed in the wrong.
“Mother! I’m telling you the truth, if you don’t listen to me, you’ll end up in jail.”
Xiao Wenjing was sweating profusely with anxiety. As a son, he had fulfilled his responsibilities, but his mother wouldn't listen to his advice, and there was nothing he could do.
After a while, Granny Yang sat down on the ground, deep in thought.
Seeing that she was acting shamelessly, Xiao Wenjing took the opportunity to help her up: "Mother, let me persuade Sheng'er again. You should quickly admit your mistake to the magistrate."
Granny Yang snorted coldly and then shook off Xiao Wenjing's hand.
"I am an elder, how can an elder apologize to a junior?" Granny Yang glared at Xiao Wenjing, then looked up at Shen Yunsheng and his wife.
"I...I'm not afraid of you. Go ahead and sue me if you dare."
Xiao Wenjing looked at his mother throwing a tantrum, feeling a mix of emotions.
He knew that his mother was still angry, and that she might listen to his advice once she calmed down.
Meanwhile, Shen Yunsheng watched all this and couldn't help but sneer: "Old lady, you were right. I came to the county office to sue you!"
Shen Yunsheng's voice wasn't loud, but it carried a chilling coldness that sent shivers down one's spine.
Upon hearing this, Granny Yang's face turned ashen, and her body trembled uncontrollably, as if she had heard some terrible news. Her eyes widened as she stared at Shen Yunsheng in disbelief, her lips trembling slightly as if she wanted to say something, but no sound came out.
Her heart was filled with fear and despair. She had thought she had the situation under control and could kick Shen Yunsheng out of the game, but now it seemed that everything was beyond her expectations. She had never imagined that Shen Yunsheng would be so bold as to go directly to the county government to file a complaint, and so calmly at that.
Xiao Jingchuan, who was standing to the side, sneered coldly, "Old lady, we will not only sue you, but also sever all ties with you."
Xiao Wenjing was shocked and exclaimed, "Chuan'er, what nonsense are you talking about!"
Granny Yang was so angry she almost fainted. She pointed at Xiao Jingchuan and yelled, "You unfilial grandson, how dare you say such things!"
Shen Yunsheng looked at Xiao Jingchuan with a gratified expression, "Husband, I support you. You should have broken off your relationship with her a long time ago."
Seeing this, Shen Qingchi knew perfectly well that the Xiao family was about to descend into internal strife.
He coughed lightly, "Madam Xiao, I don't concern myself with your family affairs. You should deal with Granny Yang's matter first."
Shen Yunsheng nodded, "This humble woman begs the magistrate to uphold justice for me. I not only want to accuse Granny Yang of illegally robbing others of their property, but also of attempted murder."
Granny Yang lowered her head guiltily, but still stubbornly said, "You...you're making false accusations!"
"Whether it's slander or not, the magistrate can make his own judgment." Shen Yunsheng handed the reins to Shen Qingchi.
In order to make Shen Yunsheng smile, Chu Yunfan stepped forward to accuse Granny Yang of lying and deceiving him, saying that the electric bike was hers, which almost caused him to get into a big disaster.
After understanding the whole story, Shen Qingchi's face immediately darkened. "Old Woman Yang, do you have anything to say?"
Seeing this, Granny Yang trembled with fear. She looked at Xiao Wenjing pleadingly, "Son, please save your mother!"
Xiao Wenjing looked troubled; he was torn between his daughter-in-law and his mother, and he truly didn't know how to choose.
At this moment, Shen Yunsheng spoke up: "Father, I know it's difficult for you. But I must seek justice for this matter. If you truly care about family ties, you shouldn't have tolerated the old lady's mistakes."
Xiao Wenjing nodded. "Mother, just accept it. Don't embarrass yourself any further."
Seeing that no one was helping her, Granny Yang had no choice but to admit her mistake, "Jingchuan's wife, I... I lied to Young Master Chu in order to earn some referral fees, so please don't hold it against me."
Shen Yunsheng sneered, "So you're admitting it? What about the attempted murder?" Granny Yang paused, "I... I was blinded by greed, please forgive me this time."
