Chapter 23 Wenjing, Wanqing should find a husband.

"I'll go redeem it tomorrow."

Shen Yunsheng wanted to go to the mountains to collect mountain products and then exchange them for silver in town.

Xiao Jingchuan picked up the teapot, poured a cup of water for his mother and wife first, and then poured one for himself.

After drinking half a cup of water, Luo smiled and looked at her daughter-in-law.

“Jingchuan’s family, don’t you think the water in our village is different from before?”

"It seems to have gotten sweeter." Shen Yunsheng casually made up an excuse. Recently, they had been drinking spiritual spring water, so the water quality was naturally different.

"I also think the spring water tastes sweeter."

Mr. Luo picked up his teacup and took another sip.

Xiao Jingchuan had long discovered his wife's secret. Last night, he not only saw his wife disappear into thin air, but also saw her enter a magical space.

When his wife came out again, the teapot was filled with warm water.

Just as Shen Yunsheng was about to change the subject, Xiao Wanqing entered the room with a smile.

"Sister-in-law, the old lady went next door to complain."

"I expected her to go next door to complain."

Shen Yunsheng picked up the teapot and poured a cup of water for his sister-in-law.

Xiao Wanqing sat next to her mother and casually picked up her chopsticks to eat an egg pancake.

"Sister-in-law, wait a minute, I'll go chop some firewood. You stay home and keep my brother company."

“I’ll go with you. It’s the season for bamboo shoots now. We can pick a lot and sell them.”

As soon as Shen Yunsheng finished speaking, Xiao Wanqing exclaimed in surprise, "Sister-in-law, are you mistaken? Even during famine years, no one would eat bamboo!"

Shen Yunsheng casually made up a story, "I once read about bamboo shoots in an ancient book. Fresh bamboo shoots are edible. They can not only stimulate the appetite and aid digestion, but also fight aging."

Seeing that her mother-in-law and sister-in-law did not believe her, Shen Yunsheng added, "I only recently remembered the contents of that ancient book. There are so many things to eat on this mountain; we can dig them up as much as we want."

Xiao Wanqing was skeptical. "It seems that reading more books does have some use. If bamboo shoots are really edible, we won't need to dig for wild vegetables."

Shen Yunsheng sighed inwardly. Deceiving others is truly a skill. She knew that bamboo shoots were edible and had nothing to do with studying. Anyone who had lived in later generations knew that bamboo shoots were a very delicious ingredient.

Upon learning of his wife's background, Xiao Jingchuan was shocked. He secretly vowed to protect his wife and not let anyone else know her secret.

"You guys take your time eating, I'll find the basket first." Shen Yunsheng had already finished her pancakes. She said goodbye and got up to leave.

In the east wing, in her parents-in-law's bedroom, Granny Yang was indeed complaining. As Shen Yunsheng passed by the door, she overheard Granny Yang telling her father-in-law to discipline her.

If it weren't for the fact that she had to go up the mountain, Shen Yunsheng would have rushed in to teach Granny Yang a lesson. She looked at the wooden door and sneered before going to get her carrying basket and machete.

After half a cup of tea

Shen Yunsheng and his wife went to Baihua Mountain with Xiao Wanqing, while Luo stayed at home to help her son with his laundry.

In the east wing, in the bedroom of Mr. and Mrs. Luo.

As Granny Yang got more and more excited, Xiao Wenkai, seeing his mother stirring things up, quickly interrupted her.

"Mother, please forgive and forgive, and don't cause trouble for my elder brother."

“I…I’m doing this for his own good. How dare an orphan with no parents climb all over him and act like a bully? If word gets out, where will your brother’s face be?”

Grandma Yang clenched her sleeves in anger whenever she thought of that plate of egg pancakes.

His mother kept nagging, and Xiao Wenjing grew impatient. Remembering what his daughter-in-law had said, he looked up at his mother.

"Mother! Please calm down. When I have time, I will give Jingchuan a proper lesson."

Seeing that her eldest son was not in a good mood, Granny Yang softened her tone and said, "Alright, I'm not the kind of old woman who likes to fuss over small things. This time, I'll forgive her."

Xiao Wenjing's feelings were complicated. He was still hesitating whether to ask his mother if she had harmed Shen Yunsheng when he heard his mother's voice.

"Wenjing, Wanqing is already sixteen. It's time to find her a good husband."
