Chapter 47 The Engagement Partner Has Changed

“It’s…it’s Pearl’s.” Xiao Wenkai was both angry and worried. The marriage certificate was real, and they couldn’t deny it. He couldn’t figure out how it happened. His mother had arranged for his niece, Wanqing, to be the person, so why did it become his daughter?

Xiao Wenjing secretly breathed a sigh of relief. As long as the person he was engaged to wasn't his daughter, he didn't care who she was.

Just as Granny Yang was about to snatch the marriage certificate, Madam Chen took it from her.

“Auntie, you can’t go back on your word. When we got engaged, you told me yourself that you liked my Tianci very much and that you wanted to give Zhenzhu to him.”

Shen Yunsheng looked at Granny Yang with excitement, a faint smile curving his lips, and said softly, "Grandma, congratulations on getting your wish and becoming family with Aunt Chen."

Upon hearing this, Granny Yang suddenly stood up, her face contorted with rage. Pointing at Shen Yunsheng, she shouted furiously, "It...it was you who did this! It must have been you!"

Granny Yang was filled with doubt and dissatisfaction, suspecting that all of this was the result of Shen Yunsheng's secret manipulation.

Apart from Shen Yunsheng, Granny Yang really couldn't think of anyone else who could change all of this.

She felt she had been tricked, and by a mere young girl at that.

Thinking of this, Granny Yang's anger intensified, her eyes flashing with a fierce light, as if she wanted to tear the person in front of her to pieces.

However, facing Granny Yang's questioning, Shen Yunsheng showed no fear. Instead, she smiled slightly and replied calmly, "Grandma, I'm just an orphan with no one to rely on. How could I possibly have such great abilities? But please don't be too angry. Since it has already happened, we can only accept reality."

After saying that, she winked mischievously, as if mocking Granny Yang's incompetence.

Xiao Wenkai also suspected that Shen Yunsheng and his wife were behind it. His mother loved him so much, how could she bear to let her daughter marry a sickly man?

Before Xiao Wenkai could speak, Matchmaker Wan said with a smile, "Grandma, we have come to your house today with sincerity. My sister Chen really likes your pearls and is willing to give a thousand taels as a bride price."
