Chapter 76 I Miss Your Big Sister

Xiao Wenjing immediately saw through his mother's intention.

She's trying to use someone else to do her dirty work! He knew very well that the electric scooter wasn't some kind of monster, but a very high-end mode of transportation.

Even if he doesn't make money from it, it's convenient for him to use, so he wouldn't be foolish enough to listen to his mother's advice and ruin the electric car.

"Wenjing, I'm not trying to scare you, but harboring demons is a crime punishable by imprisonment. You must come with me to stop Jingchuan and his wife." Since her eldest son didn't speak, Granny Yang reached out to pull him.

"Mother! Please stop making a fuss. That electric bike is Sheng'er's personal property. We have no right to destroy it." Xiao Wenjing impatiently removed his mother's right hand.

"Why are you so stubborn, child!" Granny Yang stamped her feet anxiously. "That thing is clearly no ordinary object. The Jingchuan family must have been bewitched by some monster to bring back such a thing. Our Xiao family can't keep it to harm people!"

“Mother, please don’t overthink it.” Xiao Wenjing patiently explained, “Sheng’er is just lucky to have found a powerful master, which is why she has an electric scooter. I heard her say that her electric scooter was invented by her master, and it’s not some kind of monster at all.”

"You believe everything she says? In my opinion, she is a monster."

Granny Yang trembled with anger. Even if that thing wasn't a demon, she wouldn't let Shen Yunsheng have it.

"Mother, don't talk nonsense!" Xiao Wenjing shouted angrily.

Granny Yang was startled by him. She pointed at Xiao Wenjing and said, "Well, well, now that you've grown wings, you dare to talk back to your old mother!"

Xiao Wenjing took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He knew that reasoning with his mother was pointless, so he decided to try other methods.

He turned and went into the house, took out some money and handed it to Granny Yang, saying, "Mother, this is the money I've saved over the years. Take it and buy some good food. As for that electric scooter, don't worry about it. I know what I'm doing."

Granny Yang took the money, her expression softening somewhat, but she still said with some reluctance, "Please don't make a mistake."

Xiao Wenjing nodded and said, "Don't worry, Mother, I know what I'm doing."

After saying that, he walked out of the house, leaving Granny Yang alone there muttering to herself.

After a while, Granny Yang also left.

Li Hongyu, who was cleaning in the kitchen, had been eavesdropping. As soon as Granny Yang left, she took the old man to the village entrance to find Shen Yunsheng.

...

A group of villagers gathered at the entrance of Dahe Village, queuing up to wait to ride electric vehicles.

At this moment, Xiao Wenjing rushed to the scene. He immediately saw his daughter-in-law trying her best to maintain order, while his son was driving the vehicle, leading the villagers to experience the fun of a drive.

When Shen Yunsheng saw her father-in-law arrive, she immediately went up to greet him: "Father! After my husband finishes running this lap, let him take you for a lap too."

Xiao Wenjing nodded in agreement and then walked to the side to wait.

Looking at the villagers queuing up, Xiao Wenjing couldn't help but sigh inwardly, realizing that this novel mode of transportation was indeed very popular.

He noticed several children nearby circling the electric car with curiosity, their eyes filled with longing.

Xiao Wenjing stepped forward, patted the children's heads, and asked with a smile, "Would you like to get in the car and go for a drive?"

The children nodded in agreement, their eyes sparkling with excitement.

Xiao Wenjing turned to Shen Yunsheng and said, "Sheng'er, let these children sit for a few rounds first."

Shen Yunsheng smiled and agreed, then called the children to get into the car.

The children cheered as they got into the car, their laughter echoing through the air as it started moving.

Xiao Wenjing watched this scene with a heart full of satisfaction.

He realized that the electric vehicle not only brought convenience to his family, but also became a source of joy for the villagers.

Granny Yang and Li Hongyu arrived one after the other. When the old man saw Shen Yunsheng, he ran up to her, took her hand, and said in a coquettish tone, "Oh, I want to ride in the car too."

"Grandpa! After the children have played a few rounds, I'll let you ride in."

Shen Yunsheng coaxed him with kind words, and when Granny Yang saw Shen Yunsheng chatting and laughing with the old man, she ran to Xiao Wenjing's side and fanned the flames.

"Wenjing, look at Jingchuan's family. They even took in an old man of unknown origin. You guys are really foolish and rich."

Xiao Wenjing frowned and retorted, "Mother, I agreed to Sheng'er taking in the old man."

Upon hearing this, the mother's face darkened further: "You're too kind. What if he's a bad person?"

Xiao Wenjing patiently explained, "Mother, we can't refuse to help others just because we're afraid. Besides, that old man doesn't seem like a bad person."

Granny Yang persisted, "That won't do either. Who knows if he's faking it? We can't take the risk."

Xiao Wenjing sighed helplessly: "Mother, don't worry, if he really has any problems, we will deal with it in time. But right now, we can't just stand by and watch him die."

Seeing Granny Yang and Xiao Wenjing whispering to each other, Li Hongyu ran over and whispered a few words to Shen Yunsheng.

As expected, Granny Yang's instigation was part of Shen Yunsheng's plan. But her father-in-law was a bit of a surprise; she hadn't anticipated that he would defend her in front of Granny Yang.

“Hongyu, you comfort Grandpa, I’ll go and see the old lady.”

Shen Yunsheng handed the old man over to Li Hongyu and then walked over to Granny Yang.

"Grandma, you've come at the perfect time. I was just about to talk to you about something."

Shen Yunsheng walked up to Granny Yang and looked her up and down with a half-smile.

The moment their eyes met, Granny Yang instinctively avoided the sharp glint of light.

"What...what do you want to talk to me about?" Granny Yang's voice trembled slightly, her eyes revealing a hint of unease and fear. Her gaze was fixed on Shen Yunsheng, her face turning pale, and fine beads of sweat began to appear on her forehead.
