When Wei Ran arrived at Fuxing Restaurant, he heard Yin Qi's loud laughter even before he entered.

"Isn't it funny?"

Wei Ran pushed open the door and casually asked, "What's so funny about it?"

"Oh, Lao Wei, you're here." Yin Qi pulled out a chair for him and poured him a cup of tea. "This is a new tea I brought especially for you. Please try it."

Wei Ran chuckled and casually took the teacup. "What are you making up about me about now?"

Yin Qi straightened his back and said, "How could I be the kind of person who speaks ill of others!" After speaking, he turned around and sat back in his original seat, giving Yue Jia a wink, "I was just joking with the young master."

Yue Jia didn't expose him, but changed the subject and asked Wei Ran about serious matters, "What are your plans for the future?"

Wei Ran stroked the teacup. "My plans are not important. What is important is His Majesty's arrangements for me."

Yin Qi patted his shoulder and said, “Today I observed that His Majesty’s attitude towards you was acceptable. You might as well try to find a way to Fanghua Palace.”

"Fanghua Palace..." Yue Jia looked up, "Is the one living there the recently favored Consort Xuan?"

Yin Qi and Wei Ran exchanged a glance, then looked at Yue Jia together: "Does the young master know her?"

Yue Jia understood what he meant and shook her head with a smile, "I have no connection with her."

Upon hearing this, Yin Qi's expression was even more disappointed than Wei Ran's. "I don't know him."

“However…” Yue Jia deliberately dragged out the sound.

"But what?" Yin Qi clasped his hands together. "Your Highness, please stop keeping me in suspense!"

"My adopted sister and she have a very close relationship."

Yin Qi sprang up from the chair, which made a jarring sound.

"Sister? How come I didn't know you had a sister?"

Yue Jia raised her eyes and glanced at him indifferently: "Young Master Yin has been busy visiting various mansions and meeting beauties lately. As for such a trivial matter as me recognizing a younger sister, Young Master Yin would probably forget about it as soon as he heard about it."

Yin Qi touched his nose guiltily and whispered in defense, "My mother was worried, what could I do?"

Wei Ran brought the topic back to the main point, "May I ask which family the young master's acknowledged sister belongs to?"

Yue Jia chuckled lightly, "Her? I'll introduce her to you later."

Yue Jia's words were a polite way of refusing. Wei Ran lowered his eyes, staring at the teacup, and said nothing more.

Seeing Wei Ran's attitude, Yin Qi spoke up for him, asking, "Young Master, could you ask our sister to help introduce you to an important person?"

Yue Jia glanced at Wei Ran, "I can pass on a message to you, but I can't guarantee whether it will work out."

Yin Qi's expression shifted repeatedly, his gaze darting between Wei Ran and Yue Jia. After a long while, he made up his mind, walked over to Yue Jia in a few steps, bent down, and whispered a few words in his ear.

Yue Jia's eyes darkened after hearing this. "I understand. I will talk to her myself."

Having received his assurance, Yin Qi turned and sat down. The three of them fell into deep thought, and the atmosphere became silent.

Seeing that they both looked preoccupied, Wei Ran spoke up to ease the tension, "I know how to deal with Wei Yan now?"

"Huh?" Yin Qi snapped out of his daze, looking incredulous. "That woman Wei Yan has become increasingly insane in recent years. Can you handle her?"

Wei Ran gently put down his teacup. "To be precise, the person who can deal with her is her daughter."

"Her daughter?"

Wei Ran then recounted the events of that morning to them in detail. At the end, he let out a sneer, "I see that her daughter has already harbored resentment towards her. Let's see."

Yin Qi's focus wasn't on Wei Yan's daughter; what he was curious about was, "Was it really a young girl who stepped forward? Even the doctors at Zhu Huatang were helpless. How did she manage to do it? Show me!" He couldn't wait to stand up and run to pull Wei Ran away.

Wei Ran dodged his hand by turning to the side. "If you're interested in the secret, go ask the Jin family yourself."

Yin Qi knew Wei Ran's temper; if he didn't want to do something, no amount of persuasion would change his mind. Yin Qi glared at him angrily: "How could you even think of that! I don't want to be seen as a pervert."

Yue Jia's eyes flickered slightly. Could Wei Ran be referring to Xiao Xiao?

Yue Jia's changes did not escape Wei Ran's notice. The young master also knows the Jin family's little girl? Could it be… that the younger sister the young master spoke of is her!

In order to further test Yue Jia's reaction, Wei Ran recounted the scene of Jin Xiaoxiao feeding medicine to Ji Jun and the others.

Yin Qi's eyes widened. "Judging from your description, the three members of the Jin family are clearly seriously injured. They have no chance of surviving!"

Wei Ran deliberately retorted, "If Miss Jin could pull Wei Ying back from the brink of death, how can you be so sure she can't save them?"

"But, but that's a boil that even the imperial physicians are helpless against! It's the leading cause of death among soldiers!"

Wei Ran said calmly, "Just because the imperial physician can't cure it doesn't mean others can't. You must know that there are always people more skilled than you." Although his eyes were on Yin Qi, his peripheral vision was fixed on Yue Jia, not missing the slightest change in him.

Yue Jia tapped her fingertips on the table, lost in thought.

He went out of the city on business the day before yesterday and only returned to the capital this evening. He had just finished washing up when Yin Qi dragged him here. Therefore, he was unaware of the events that had transpired in the capital these past two days. According to Wei Ran's words, the Jin family encountered a fierce battle outside the city, and three members were seriously injured. The one who instigated the battle must have been Yue Xiao, but he wondered about the outcome, the identities of the three injured members of the Jin family, and...did Xiaoxiao really have a way to save them?

Wei Ran was certain that Yue Jia was connected to the Jin family based on the tapping of her fingers. This made him pay even closer attention to the Jin family.

An hour later, the three parted ways at the restaurant and went home.

Upon returning to the mansion, Yue Jia immediately instructed Steward Zhu, "Tomorrow morning, take some valuable external injury medicine to the Jin family."

"Yes. Does the young master have any further instructions?"

Yue Jia hesitated for a moment, then said, "Wait a moment." He strode to the desk, picked up a pen, and wrote a letter on a piece of paper. After a short while, he folded the letter and handed it to Butler Zhu: "Give this letter to Xiaoxiao. Also, three members of the Jin family are injured. Keep a close eye on their injuries tomorrow."

Butler Zhu carefully put the letter away. "Yes!"

The next morning, just before dawn, someone knocked on the Jin family's door.

The Jin family's doorman, still half asleep, rushed to the door. "Coming, coming."

"Squeak—"

The doorman saw a well-dressed, amiable middle-aged man standing outside the door, followed by two burly men. The doorman immediately became alert and dared not treat him lightly: "May I ask who you are looking for?"

Butler Zhu said with a smile, "My master is a friend of your young master. Hearing that Young Master Jin was injured, he specially sent me to visit him."

The doorman respectfully invited him inside.

Jin Xiaoxiao didn't sleep for a day and a night.

Yesterday she gave the three of them allicin. When she went to visit them in the evening, Jin Minzhi and Jin Yuantang were in better condition, but Ji Jun's injuries did not improve. Not only did he remain unconscious for longer periods of time, but his wounds also began to fester!

After changing his dressing herself, Jin Xiaoxiao stayed by Ji Jun's side, not daring to close her eyes. After an hour, Jin Minzhi kept urging her to go back and rest. In order not to worry him, Jin Xiaoxiao obediently returned to her room.

However, when she lay in bed, the image of Ji Jun lifeless kept appearing before her eyes, and the immense sense of panic almost made it hard for her to breathe.

Jin Xiaoxiao simply got up and locked herself in the laboratory.

After a busy night, penicillin finally made a breakthrough. Jin Xiaoxiao's eyes shone like stars; now she just needed to experiment with the effects of penicillin.

Jin Xiaoxiao suddenly pushed open the door and ran out, disheveled and dirty.

"Huh? Xiaoxiao? Xiaoxiao!"

Hearing Butler Zhu calling her, Jin Xiaoxiao thought she was hallucinating because she hadn't slept all night, and continued running forward without stopping.

Butler Zhu quickly stepped forward, stopped Jin Xiaoxiao, and took off his own coat to drape it over her shoulders. "You're dressed so lightly, be careful not to catch a cold." Then he knelt down to adjust the coat around her, looking at her with concern. "Xiaoxiao, what happened? Why are you in such a hurry?"

Butler Zhu's coat shielded her from the biting cold, and Jin Xiaoxiao trembled suddenly, murmuring, "Uncle Zhu?"

Butler Zhu sighed, "Master only returned to the capital yesterday evening. He heard about your brother's situation and told me to come and see him first thing this morning."

Jin Xiaoxiao blinked, trying her best to hold back her tears. "Please convey my thanks to the young master on my behalf, Uncle Zhu. It's also kind of you, Uncle Zhu, to make this trip so early in the morning."

Butler Zhu patted her head. "Uncle is not tired, Xiaoxiao is. Uncle will nag you a bit more. A bow that is fully drawn is easily broken, and a string that is taut is easily snapped. Xiaoxiao, why don't you go back and rest for a while?"

Jin Xiaoxiao's throat suddenly constricted, and she opened her mouth but couldn't utter a sound. Noticing the heat in her eyes, Jin Xiaoxiao quickly lowered her head.

Butler Zhu pretended not to know that she wanted to cry, kindly got up, and got back to the main topic, "Xiaoxiao, if you have something to do, I won't bother you any longer. Please continue to guide me."

The servant leading the way subconsciously looked at Jin Xiaoxiao.

Jin Xiaoxiao steadied her breathing, looked up, and said, "Thank you, Uncle. Go to my father's yard and get a clean coat for Uncle Zhu. Also, tell the kitchen to make a bowl of ginger tea for Uncle Zhu."

"yes."

Hearing Jin Xiaoxiao's words, Butler Zhu felt extremely comforted.

As Jin Xiaoxiao watched Butler Zhu's departing figure, her anxious heart suddenly calmed down.

A moment later, she turned and returned to her own courtyard.

As soon as Butler Zhu stepped into the room, he met Jin Minzhi's gaze.

Butler Zhu quickly walked two steps to his bedside and, before he could ask any questions, took the initiative to explain his purpose: "Young Master Jin, the young master sent me to see you."

Jin Minzhi felt a slight sense of relief when she realized that the person who came was not Xiaoxiao.

"Thank you for your concern, Your Highness."

After exchanging pleasantries with him, Butler Zhu casually remarked, "I just ran into Xiaoxiao. She was dressed thinly, had dark circles under her eyes, and looked deeply troubled..."

Jin Minzhi's heart tightened. As expected, Xiaoxiao blamed her for the three of them getting injured. No, he had to go and persuade Xiaoxiao.

Jin Minzhi threw back the covers, about to get up, when she suddenly started coughing violently, "Cough cough cough..."

Butler Zhu just smiled pityingly, intending to give him a little nudge, but he didn't expect such a strong reaction. He quickly went over to pat his back and pull the blanket up for him.

"Don't worry, Young Master Jin. I persuaded Xiaoxiao to go back and rest."

Jin Minzhi stared at Butler Zhu, "Really? Cough cough, really?"

Jin Yuantang was awakened by his cough and tilted his head to look at him. "Minzhi, what's wrong?"

Kim Min-ji clutched his throbbing abdomen with one hand and used the other to sit up. "Thank you, sir, I'm fine now."

She then stretched out her right hand and waved it, responding weakly to Jin Yuantang, "Uncle, I'm fine."

Jin Yuantang's gaze fixed on Butler Zhu. "Who are you?"

Taking the opportunity, Butler Zhu approached Jin Yuantang and said, "My master heard that Young Master Jin was injured, so he specially sent me to visit him on his behalf."

Jin Yuantang asked in confusion, "Who is your master?"

Knowing that he had a bad impression of the Prince's Mansion, Butler Zhu avoided the main issue and said, "My master is a friend of Young Master Jin."

Jin Yuantang had only asked casually, and when he saw that Jin Yuantang didn't answer, he didn't press him.

At this moment, Xin Yi, carrying a medicine box, yawned and stepped into the room, saying, "Get up and change your dressing."

Butler Zhu tactfully stepped aside and watched intently.

Starting with Jin Minzhi, whose injuries were the least severe, Xin Yi skillfully changed his dressings.

Witnessing the exposed wounds of the three men, Steward Zhu's expression remained unchanged, but his heart was filled with shock. He had seen his share of the world while serving the young master. Those with injuries as severe as theirs would have long been on the verge of death, unable to care for themselves, merely waiting to breathe their last. But these three—only the most seriously injured lay in bed; the other two were able to eat on their own. Even the one lying down could open his eyes and take medicine. No wonder the young master had instructed him to keep a close eye on their injuries. He had truly seen something new today!

After finishing her treatment and packing her medicine box, Xin Yi asked Jin Minzhi, "Where is my teacher?"

"teacher?"

Xin Yi said confidently, "I've decided to ask Xiao Xiao to be my teacher. Enough talk, tell me where my teacher is!"

A smile appeared in Jin Minzhi's eyes. "Xiaoxiao has just rested. Please wait patiently, Dr. Xin."

Xin Yi muttered, "They didn't even call me when they stayed up all night."

Ji Yun suddenly opened her eyes and said in a weak but firm voice, "Someone is spying on us!"
