Chapter 33 You Have a Universal Certificate

Chapter 33 You Have a Universal Certificate

Wen Yao chatted with Madam Fu for a while longer, and only after Madam Fu fell asleep did she quietly open the door and leave.

Fu Jinzhi was standing in the corridor at some point, leaning against the wall, her head slightly lowered as if she was thinking about something.

He has an exceptionally good physique, with long, straight legs; he looks stunning just standing there, like a cover photo from a fashion magazine.

Hearing the noise, Fu Jinzhi looked up at Wen Yao, a smile in his eyes, "Is Mom alright?"

"They've already gone to sleep." It was fine when there were many people around, but now that it was just the two of them alone, Wen Yao felt inexplicably at a loss.

She cleared her throat awkwardly. "How did you handle Zhao Xi'er?"

"What else can we do?" Fu Jinzhi replied casually, his voice carrying a hint of danger. "Tie him up and sink him into the sea."

Holy crap!

All the romantic thoughts that had been lingering in Wen Yao's mind vanished, replaced by:

No way? Fu Jinzhi has gone down the same path of breaking the law and committing crimes as in the original story. What will happen to her mission? Is she doomed?

Overwhelmed with grief and indignation.

Alright, Aunt Wang, you don't need to prepare my dinner tonight. I'm taking my leave now, and this is a permanent retirement...

Seeing Wen Yao's ever-changing expressions, like a spilled palette, Fu Jinzhi felt both annoyed and amused. He grabbed Wen Yao's uninjured cheek and gently shook it.

"You really think I'm some kind of legal expert?"

"How could she have sunk into the sea? Of course, we called the police and had her taken to the station."

"Honestly, have you been reading too many CEO romance novels? Do you really think rich people can do whatever they want?"

"What do you know?!" Wen Yao glared at Fu Jinzhi. This is just like a domineering CEO novel!

She forcefully pulled Fu Jinzhi's hand off her face, but Fu Jinzhi seized the opportunity to grab it back, their fingers intertwined.

Wen Yao was stunned. How could this guy be so shameless?

Just as I was about to struggle, I suddenly heard a loud rumbling sound outside the window.

Wen Yao's attention was completely drawn to it, and she opened the window to peek out.

The window faces the garden, where a dozen or so workers have gathered, all wearing uniform work clothes, gloves, and masks.

Some were using ropes to secure the artificial hill, while others worked together to lift the secured artificial hill.

The loud noise just now was from moving the artificial rockery.

The once picturesque Chinese garden is now riddled with holes and pits, resembling the surface of the moon.

Wen Yao was completely bewildered by the scene and muttered to herself, "Why did they start tearing the house apart?"

“Now that we have a child, all these dangerous things should be removed.” Fu Jinzhi looked out the window just like Wen Yao, a hint of satisfaction in his peach blossom eyes.

Danger?

A hint of confusion crept into Wen Yao's shock; the artificial mountain was actually a dangerous thing?

Is Fu Jinzhi really alright? Wen Yao looked at Fu Jinzhi with a gaze that seemed to regard her as an idiot, yet she hesitated to speak.

Fu Jinzhi sneered and pointed to the band-aid on her face, "Isn't it dangerous? My wife was almost disfigured."

"Pah! It's not that exaggerated." Wen Yao was speechless.

Almost disfigured? You'd be horrified if you took off the band-aid! Now there's probably not even a scar left.

Thinking of this, Wen Yao felt a little guilty and was about to change the subject when she realized what Fu Jinzhi had just said.

child?

"Where did this child come from?"

Madam Fu is over fifty years old; she doesn't seem like the type to give Fu Jinzhi a younger brother or sister.

"You, didn't you say before that you'd be my wife and I'd be your father?" Fu Jinzhi's eyes crinkled with a smile, but his voice remained serious.

"Huh, what are you talking about?" Wen Yao pretended to be stupid. Fu Jinzhi's memory was too good.

He's still mocking what I said when I first transmigrated. If I pick up on it, he'll nag me for the rest of my life.

"Amnesia? It hasn't even been a month since you said that." Fu Jinzhi chuckled.

"Do you know Fu Jinzhi?"

Wen Yao's eyes were clear and bright like a spring, and she blinked mischievously, "There are two kinds of beauties in the world: one has a bad memory, and the other I've forgotten."

Hearing Wen Yao's blatant implication that she was a beautiful woman with a bad memory, Fu Jinzhi shook his head helplessly, but was in a good mood, with a faint smile on his lips.

Unexpectedly, Wen Yao returned to Moon Bay Villa hand in hand with Fu Jinzhi. Suddenly, she remembered that she had forgotten something.

Her cat-like eyes widened, and she clapped her hands. "Oh no, Mom seems to have invited me to have dinner at the old house."

Fu Jinzhi, who had been shaken off, thought to himself with a sigh, "If she knew we wanted some alone time, she would be very happy to let you come back."

"I didn't think about having a romantic getaway for just the two of us?" Wen Yao asked, confused. She was actually quite interested in trying the food at the Fu family's old house.

However, so much happened that afternoon that she didn't have time to process what was happening when Fu Jinzhi took her away.

"I guess I've been thinking about having some alone time, okay?" Fu Jinzhi said with a forced smile. How could Wen Yao be so clueless? At this rate, when would he ever get a permanent position?

"Look at you, so naughty." Wen Yao smiled indulgently.

Fine, if Fu Jinzhi wants some alone time with her, then so be it, as long as there's food to eat, it's okay.

Fu Jinzhi took a deep breath. He seemed to be hallucinating from anger, as if he could see the words "dinner" written in Wen Yao's eyes.

Her eyes truly are the windows to the soul; they reveal every thought she has.

As if in response to Wen Yao's desire, dinner tonight was exceptionally lavish.

Braised pork ribs, roast duck rolls, pineapple shrimp balls, boiled beef, steamed sea bass, steamed chicken in a clay pot, steamed scallops with garlic and vermicelli, honey-steamed pumpkin...

The table was piled high with food.

"Wang Ma, is the dinner so lavish tonight to welcome Fu Jinzhi back?" Wen Yao's eyes were glued to the table, and she seemed somewhat distracted as she asked the question.

"That's part of the reason," Wang Ma said with a mysterious expression. "But the main reason is because of you, Madam."

"Because of me?" Wen Yao was completely confused.

But Wang Ma didn't say much, gently shook her head and left the restaurant, leaving the couple to enjoy dinner alone.

"He probably saw you were injured and wanted to help you recover," Fu Jinzhi said quietly.

Wen Yao finally managed to tear her gaze away from the dining table and gave Fu Jin a look, "It's so serious, why don't you, as a family member, apply for a disability certificate for me?"

In fact, Wen Yao's voice is gentle and sweet, but there is a hint of coldness at the end of her sentences, which dilutes and reduces the overall sweetness, adding a touch of arrogance and reserve.

So whenever she opens her mouth to mock, the amplification of that voice always makes people reach 200% of their anger.

But Fu Jinzhi wasn't among these people; he only thought Wen Yao was annoying yet adorable, a troublesome little devil.

“You don’t need a disability certificate. Have you forgotten that you have a universal certificate?” Fu Jinzhi said seriously.

There's a universal certificate? That must be something this novel's world invented!

Wen Yao tilted her head and looked at Fu Jinzhi, a single hair sticking up on her head and curving into a question mark shape. "What kind of certificate is so powerful? I don't remember it at all."

"Of course, it's your marriage certificate with me."

Seeing Wen Yao stunned into place, her delicate nose wrinkling, Fu Jinzhi laughed somewhat wildly.

Is there anything wrong?

Having a marriage certificate with Fu Jinzhi symbolizes a great deal of wealth and privilege; how can it not be considered a universal certificate?
